In the hall, many guests gathered, making the place extremely lively. All of them were great figures from every corner of the world and beings that one wouldn’t even dare to imagine of meeting. Not only that, many of these powerful cultivators, who were gone for so long, suspected to have died, had also arrived to personally send gifts to Gu Changge’s mother.
In fact, in their hearts, among the Immortal Families, the Immortal Gu Family was the most mysterious and ancient, as they seemed to have stood firm since time immemorial.
After countless catastrophes, they somehow gave others a sense of indestructibility even if the world collapsed. Even though no one knew how terrifying the true strength of the Immortal Gu Family was… not one faction dared to take the matter lightly.
Even Wang Zijin was secretly shocked once she noticed a being with a frightening status in the Mortal Palace suddenly heading towards the deeper part of the Gu Family’s hall, as if he was intending to visit an old friend.
Looking at this sight, she couldn’t help but feel astonished inside her heart. Although the Immortal Wang Family was also one of the Immortal Families, they seemed to lack something when compared to the Immortal Gu Family.
“We lack strength!” In the end, she shook her head and softly muttered to herself, realising that she was truly narrow-sighted.
[Even though I can travel the entire world as a transmigrator, I can’t help but realise that my worldview is too narrow. I’ve underestimated a lot of people and forces.] This was undoubtedly a huge blow for Wang Zijin, who was always confident in predicting everything.
“Lady Zijin, I told you that you’ve underestimated the young prodigies of this world. At the moment, many are saying that unless an ancient emperor or a young king who once ruled the world appears, no one in the younger generation is a match for Young Master Changge.” Xiu Er’s eyes were full of admiration for Gu Changge, as if she was a loyal supporter of his.
Listening to her, Wang Zijin smiled. “I hope that someone like that appears so that I can see how far Brother Gu’s strength has gotten.”
As she looked at Gu Changge, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of rivalry inside her heart, which was a feeling she didn’t have before. She felt pressure from him which prevented her from seeing through him. [If not for the fear of revealing my identity, I can’t wait to spar with him.]
In the grand hall, the guests were cheerfully talking about various things before offering their congratulatory speeches.
Gu Changge’s father, Gu Lintian, also showed up, displaying his cultivation that had reached an unfathomably terrifying height. He appeared on the seat of honour with a blurry face and began chatting with the guests.
In the end, they simultaneously dragged the conversation onto the topic of young prodigies, and undoubtedly, Gu Changge was the brightest star among the younger generation to a point where even the powerful Elders wouldn’t dare to speak lightly when mentioning him out of respect and fear.
What happened in the Celestial Ancient Continent had shocked the world. No one would dare to imagine that a young man could do such a thing, but it has already been made into reality.
He was the Young Master of the Immortal Gu Family, the Successor of Skyward Schloss, the Young Master of the Primal Celestial Temple, the Successor of the Ancient Reincarnation Supreme Being, the ruler of the Celestial Ancient Races… With so many status in hand, it was no wonder he had left so many impressed to the point they become speechless.
In terms of power, no one in the younger generation could be mentioned in the same sentence as him. Even Yue Mingkong was far behind him.
Since Gu Changge was now the face of the Immortal Gu Family, many of its members and Elders from the family were particularly pleased to hear these praises. After all, who in this world didn’t like to hear praises about themselves or their family?
Gu Changge’s methods were frightening and brilliant, which were satisfactory to those within the Gu Family, especially since he was the one who brought back Gu Xianer, and reunite her with the family, which solved many internal grudges. Therefore, in their eyes, Gu Changge’s status as the Young Master of the family was well-deserved.
[With such a young master, how will our family not prosper? Our vision back then… was absolutely wrong.]
“Sister Mingkong…” In the corner of the hall, Gu Xianer, who had a delicate face, wore an otherworldly dress with wide sleeves. Her mannerisms remained cold and lonely, just like a flawless angel. She pulled Yue Mingkong to her while softly calling out.
“Xianer…” Yue Mingkong’s whole face was filled with gentleness as they caught up on what happened since the day they were separated after the Celestial Ancient Continent, so they had many things to talk about now that they finally saw each other again.
After returning to the Immortal Gu Family, be her status or whatever, Gu Xianer’s treatment had instantly reached the point where she was now equivalent to being the princess of the Gu Family, so she was still a bit overwhelmed by what just happened.
However, this was clearly something that was permitted by the many Elders and head of the family, so she was able to gradually get used to it. Even so, she didn’t forget her initial goal, which was to snoop around the family to gain information, especially asking the Elders of her side of her family about what happened in the past.
After all, she swore to find out Gu Changge’s mysterious secret, which was not known to anyone, and in the end, she actually managed to find some clues.
The midwife and others who delivered Gu Changge back then were now no longer in the Gu Family, and no one knew where they went, but it was clear that they were all killed by those from Gu Changge’s side of the family. Thinking about it, Gu Xianer couldn’t help but feel stunned as she wasn’t stupid to not see the reason behind such actions.
[Something must have happened during Gu Changge’s brith. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have triggered such a huge reaction. Outsiders who knew about it back then were quietly killed off in secret. Even though everything seemed seamless and unsuspicious, there was such an obvious loophole that anyone with functioning eyes willing to look deeper into it could see that there was something Gu Changge’s lside of the family is trying to hide.]
From Gu Xianer’s perspective, the thing they were trying to hide was Gu Changge’s biggest secret. She had quietly told Yue Mingkong everything she knew since other than her, no one in the entire Immortal Gu Family would dare to talk about such a topic even if they knew about it.
After listening to her words, Yue Mingkong also fell into a deep silence.
“Are you saying that there had already been a problem when Changge was born… That means over the years, Changge…” She asked while furrowing her brows, not knowing what else to say. In her mind, she was speculating if what Gu Xianer said was deeply connected to Gu Changge’s change of personality in this life compared to her previous life.
[Does it also have anything to do with why he went to the Nether?]
All of a sudden, she felt a spark inside his head, as if something had just flashed across her mind. If she could just grab hold of it, she would be able to solve all this mystery.
[This is of grave importance! Gu Changge’s parents also seem to be hiding something, and are not prepared to tell me. Maybe it has something to do with this mysterious secret Xianer is talking about.]
“Well, for many days, I’ve always felt that Gu Changge digging up my Daoist Bone back then was a thought-out plan, and now, I still feel the same way… First, he tried to make me hate him before thinking of a way to return the Daoist Bone to me. At the same time, he deliberately pretended to be indifferent towards me so that I would hate him even more, but actually, he intended on hardening me. However, my strength is still no match for him, leaving him disappointed.” Gu Xianer nodded and spoke out about her many speculations in the past few days, especially her analysis of Gu Changge’s actions and behaviours.
She wasn’t stupid since she went through the careful guidance of many Elders, but for some reason, she kept on bumping into trouble in front of Gu Changge, which made her look silly at times.
At such moments, her eyes seemed to have lit up as she never questioned her judgement before. During the time she returned to the Immortal Gu Family, she realised that those from her side of the family were no longer being suppressed within the Gu Family. Instead, in terms of the distribution of cultivation resources, they seemed to have gained even more than before. Even though a large part of it had something to do with Gu Changge’s side of the family compensating for what they did in the past, it still showed their guilt for what happened back then. Besides, Gu Xianer herself didn’t harbour any hatred towards the Immortal Gu Family in the first place.
“Now, as long as we can find what happened to Gu Changge back then when he was born that caused all of this to happen afterward…” she murmured while furrowing her brows.
Even though it seemed like the mystery was about to be unveiled, it still felt as blurry as ever, leaving her in a frantic state. She couldn’t wait to cut open Gu Changge’s heart and see what he was thinking inside, but unfortunately, everyone in the Gu Family seemed to be confused, as if they didn’t know about this at all.
One could only praise Gu Changge’s side of the family for keeping such a huge secret back then so well concealed.
“When we were on the mountain peak, Master told me about Gu Changge’s Innate Demonic Nature. Could it be this… But then, he also said that Gu Changge’s actions might look demonic, but at the same time, it isn’t.” Gu Xianer mumbled, thinking of the words the Grand Elder had said when he met Gu Changge at the top of the mountain. She remembered his words very clearly and hadn’t forgotten them even until now.
“Innate Demonic Nature?” Yue Mingkong was slightly startled after listening to her words.
Suddenly, she thought about Gu Changge possessing the secret technique of Nommening. However, she didn’t hear anything special about the previous Successors of Demonic Arts since they all gained the inheritance by chance before starting their cultivation and wreaking havoc on the world. [There shouldn’t be any special connection between these two.]
She felt she had to look into the matter carefully afterward. [Innate Demonic Nature. Many things are inherently demonic. It is even more so with young prodigies possessing Innate Demonic Souls and Innate Demonic Energy… What reason would make Gu Changge’s side of the family so careful? To go this far to conceal a secret from their own family and the world? Also, why did Gu Changge dig up Gu Xianer’s Daoist Bone when she was still so young?]
With such doubts, Yue Mingkong returned to her seat.
As for Gu Xianer, she wasn’t interested in the event anyways, so she glanced at Gu Changge, who was talking to many young prodigies before leaving the hall. She was planning to adjust her cultivation for the preparation she needed afterward to awaken her Gu Family bloodline in the Nirvana Pool.
To enter the Nirvana Pool within the Gu Family’s Ancestral Hall was a rare opportunity even in the Immortal Gu Family. In every generation, not more than five people would have the chance to do so because the energy needed to open the Nirvana Pool was incomparably huge and astonishing. Even members of the Immortal Gu Family would feel pain when doing so. After all, items were required to open the Nirvana Pool, but once they were used, they would be gone forever, and it would be impossible to find any replacements.
For any young member of the family, the benefits and fortune of entering the pool were said to be incredible, which was why Gu Xianer was very tempted as it would improve her cultivation, even though she would be entering the pool together with Gu Changge.
Then, an immortal fog lingered around the hall. At the banquet, the fragrance of the Immortal Wine could be smelled as its mellow colour showed that it had been brewed for at least millions of years. After a few glasses, the guests who didn’t refine it using their cultivation started to become a little drunk, including many in the Sacred Realm. What was special about this Immortal Wine was that people from different realms would receive different tastes.
At the banquet, there were countless precious fruits and delicacies, showing the true strength of the Immortal Gu Family. An example would be the Divine King Fruit which was a fruit the size of a palm. It was crystal clear, and a cloud of celestial energy could be seen within. Other than that, it also contained some World Principles. It could help a cultivator in the Enlightened King Realm forge their Primordial Spirit. Therefore, it was rare to find around the whole world. After tasting the fruit, many guests felt the energy dissolving inside their bodies before a surge of mysterious energy rushed into their minds. Because of that, their Primordial Spirits became even purer.
Halfway through the banquet, many young prodigies also took the chance to start sparring with each other to prove themselves.
Meanwhile, lots of the prodigal damsels had their eyes locked onto Gu Changge seemingly with affection and admiration. When they sparred with each other in front of him, their moves weren’t ruthless and powerful. Instead, they were full of beauty and angel-like, as if it was a dance that was pleasing to the eye.
All of a sudden, many young men had their eyes widened with envy.
“When will I be able to dance with so many prodigal damsels?”
“There’s no point comparing. I really am jealous of him. How could such a perfect man like Young Master Changge exist in this world?”
Many young prodigies couldn’t help but admit Gu Changge was someone who could attract any woman.
In the blink of an eye, it was already the middle of the day.
“Sadly, after looking around, I still can’t find someone who is somewhat capable. To think I had great expectations before this banquet. Now that I think about it, I’m just too powerful. I’m afraid other than an extraordinary young prodigy like Wang Zijin, there is no other perfect candidate amongst the younger generation.” Gu Changge wore white flawless clothes which highlighted a dashing face and upright figure. There was a faint smile on his face that drew the envious gaze of many prodigal damsels, but sadly, no one other than Yue Mingkong next to him could hear the clear disappointment in his words.
When he swept his gaze across the many young prodigies nearby, he seemed to be disappointed at Wang Zijin, Ye Langtian and the others.
Hearing his words, Yue Mingkong remained calm while Gu Xianer’s previous words still lingered inside her head.
With her flawless face, bright eyes and smooth hair, she sat next to Gu Changge while wearing a gorgeous plain dress.
She glanced at him and didn’t say much afterward. If it was in the past, hearing him sighing those words so frankly and freely, she would definitely feel a chill down her spine and become deeply wary of him. After all, she knew him well enough to know that this meant that he was plotting something. It was just like how he pinned the blame of the Successor of Demonic Arts all on Ye Ling the last time. Now that he was saying similar words, it was clear that he had someone in mind to set up.
However, Yue Mingkong didn’t feel anything at the moment… Instead, she felt that it was natural and unsurprisingly, because this was the Gu Changge that she was most familiar with.
He spoke these words in front of her without any concerns, as if he was mumbling to himself, but clearly, he was saying it to her on purpose.
“Mingkong, aren’t you going to help me solve my problem?” Then, with a faint smile on his face, he suddenly held her delicate hand underneath the table, startling her. This was the first time he actively spoke to her since the last time they parted ways, especially in such an affectionate way.
As she was stunned, her head suddenly felt a bit dizzy, as she couldn’t understand what he was thinking. It was obvious that her words hurt him last time in the Celestial Ancient Continent’s Mountains of Horizons, causing their relationship to drop to a freezing point, but now, it seemed like he no longer minded her words and had forgiven he, so she couldn’t help but be a little surprised.
“How can I help you?” she quickly asked, forcing herself to calm down.
However, her heart was still beating at a rapid rate. No matter what, she could never remain calm in front of Gu Changge. She initially thought that there was a barrier between the two of them, and it would be even more difficult for her to regain his understanding and trust. After all, his thoughts were hard to read and predict.
Even so, she knew one thing had not changed. She still had a place in Gu Changge’s heart, but it wasn’t too much. Nonetheless… she was willing to wait until the day his heart truly opened up to her.
“Mingkong, what do you think I should do? I can’t find a suitable candidate to take the blame. These young prodigies are too weak, and no really powerful character has shown up yet. I’m afraid that the Mortal Palace will soon find their way to me. If I die, you will become a widow,” he whispered next to her ear with a faint smile on his face.
In the eyes of an outsider, it looked like the intimate act of a young couple.
Even though it seemed like Gu Changge was really in trouble and was asking Yue Mingkong for help, she ignored his teasing words and calmed down before asking, “Isn’t that ancient monstrosity, Wang Zijin, your best choice?”
Silavin: Honestly, I don’t know why the author used ‘ancient’ to describe Wang Zijin.

Many thanks !
Why is Mingkong surprised about the whole Demonic Nature stuff? Like, she knows he is the Demonic Successor?
Many thanks
Lol yes, she’s not ancient lol. But I guess, if someone doesn’t know her status, they’ll think she’s a hidden monster from the Wang family
Many thanks
Pretty much. Yue’er figured this Sacred Realm monster must’ve been around a good deal longer than she actually did. Honest mistake.
