While Ghost Province’s large factions ignored Chen Changan, they were on good terms with the Nine Swords Sect. Being a powerhouse meant they knew how to get on in the world by networking. In their minds, getting cozy with the Nine Swords Sect equaled being close to Chen Changan by proxy. This way, at least, spared them from being decimated when the Immortal descended to kill Chen Changan.

The factions brought all kinds of grand gifts to Nine Swords Sect; Ancient Phoenix Sect was not to be left out either, sending a Grand Elder as a show of respect.

The gestures showed Chen Changan’s value to all parties within Ghost Province.

It was only natural for the Nine Swords Sect to grow in status and fame. Despite its newfound fame, Nine Swords Sect retained its previous demeanor, neither humble nor arrogant. They made sure not to drop Chen Changan’s name whenever they had the chance and focused on raising their strength instead. Nonetheless, they did start one thing they felt warranted: crushing the Ghost Skull Sect.

As it was an enemy of theirs, they had to purge it. Its destruction left the Evil Dragon Den trembling in fear. They had incurred Senior’s ire as well, thus Nine Swords Sect’s. With the Ghost Skull Sect culled, they were next.

On the day Ghost Skull Sect was erased from this world, Evil Dragon Den fled Ghost Province, giving up their domain in exchange for survival.

The back mountain of the Heavenly Fox Clan was quiet and deep in the Myriad Mountains. Mystical and deep energy came from within as one went further, with even the grass and trees glowing in strange colors.

There lay the clan’s forbidden area, a pristine lake.

Gazing in the distance, one could see glittering lights among the purple fog. The moon shone overhead, shedding light on this wondrous scenery.

Two perfect women bathed in its waters: Ah’Miao and Bai Yue. The two Demons’ flawless beauty was further enhanced in the pale light of the moon.

Bai Yue came out of the lake, showing her gentle curves and creamy skin, like a sculpture carved to perfection.

She draped over a silken robe and said, “Ah’Miao, I’m going.”

Ah’Miao popped her head out of the water, whining.

“Bai Yue, it’s boring by myself, nya.”

Bai Yue smiled. “This is the Heavenly Fox Clan’s forbidden area. I can’t stay for long. We can meet again on our next sacred bath.”

Ah’Miao sighed, “I should’ve known Senior was so incredible and not to use the Mist Province Cauldron. I even used the Golden Blood Father left me, and now he knows where I am, nya.”

“As long as you stay here, his men won’t find you.”

“I hope so, nya.” Ah’Miao slipped back under the water, leaving only her cute ears out.

Bai Yue hesitated. “Ah’Miao, I’ve been meaning to ask, why did you leave home?”

Ah’Miao rose from the water with a pout. “Father wanted me to marry me off to a monk from Mist Province’s Hidden Sky Temple, nya.”

Bai Yue blinked. “Marriage with a monk?”

Ah’Miao nodded. “Yep, yep. Father said he’s the reincarnation of some Immortal Buddha. He has such an incredible history that would be sure to help me ascend in the future, nya. But I just don’t like him, nya. So I won’t marry the monk, and I won’t ascend, nya.”

Bai Yue exclaimed, “Naturally.”

She could already picture a monk in his kasaya and chrome dome as he held his hands out in prayer, stating in a most insufferably calm tone, “Benefactor, A Mi Tuo Fo.”

Ah’Miao earned Bai Yue’s full sympathy. Even she would leave home, let alone Ah’Miao.

“Ah’Miao, it’ll be fine. As long as you stay in this forbidden area, your Father won’t find you.”

Bai Yue gave a reassuring smile.

“Sure, nya.”

Left alone, Ah’Miao sighed and walked out of the lake, her skin glistening from the water, emphasizing her curves and perfect skin. Her lively tale gets hearts racing with every sway.

She stroked her inaugural tail, muttering,

“Father, why would you give me to someone I don’t like?”

Ah’Miao stared at her tail, lost in a deep thought—a particular one that revealed a healthy blush in the moonlight.
