Golden lights spilled everywhere, accompanied by monastic chanting that drove off the clouds.
Chen Changan and Flood Dragon Hei noticed someone on the Gold Immortal Vessel.
He had flowing blond hair, a beefy body, and a very handsome appearance. The mala necklace, made of eighteen beads, shone in a Buddhist and sacred light.
He held his hands in prayer, eyes closed.
The Yin-Yang Lock approached, to the Flood Dragon’s disdain.
He had no trouble slinking out of its path, a kilometre away.
“Who are you?” He raged, “You dare attack in Senior’s presence?”
Chen Changan cocked his head at the conflicting image of this supposed monk. While he had the Buddhist Aura and everything, the golden, wavy locks were off-putting.
The monk opened his eyes, the aura around him turning sharp, while the Buddhist power instilled heavier pressure on them.
The blondie sneered, his chanting boundless. “Fiendish Dragon, I see your warmongering and sins. Kneel and repent to Buddha to wash them all away.”
It only helped to antagonize Hei. [Screw you! You’re the one killing on sight!]
The only reason Hei didn’t chew him on the spot was because he was deferring to Senior, who was on his head.
Chen Changan was speechless. [What a savage!]
“In a world where the strong prey on the weak, everyone has blood on their hands. It is you who have heavy sins, not him. Why don’t you repent first?”
Hei was cheering inside. [Senior is looking after me. Will he slaughter this fool?]
The buffed blondie now noticed the youth on the Flood Dragon’s head.
He had a superior aura, yet no cultivation, but standing there left a deep impression, of standing above the mundane affairs of the Mortals. Dao itself manifested around him, with a pure Buddhist air floating in his presence.
The blondie held his hands in prayer. “I am Jian Qian, a humble monk from Mist Province’s Hidden Sky Temple. Benefactor, might this fiend be your mount by any chance?”
Chen Changan said, “For a monk to still have hair, did you keep it to look good, or are you just faking being one? As for this Demon, it’s none of your concern.”
The blondie spoke coldly, “Benefactor, I’m only speaking to you due to the Buddhist air around you. Don’t mistake kindness for weakness.”
Hei raged, his violent power surging like the sea as he charged, “You sack of festering putrid puss! No one talks to Senior like that!”
You could insult Hei, you could insult his Mother, but one thing you should never do was speak ill of Senior. And to his face no less!
[He could be Mist Province Lord’s right arm for all I care, but he still must die!]
“Senior, let me eat him!”
Jian Qian spoke again. “Ah Mi Tuo Fo, for protecting this hellspawn, benefactor, your Buddhist beliefs have been tainted with its murderous tendencies. I shall do Heaven’s work by sending you both to your next life.”
Chen Changan smiled and said, “My, what a cocky monk, so unreasonable. Not only do you call me murderous too, but you dare say you’ll send me off on behalf of Heaven?”
In his eyes, Jian Qian was no monk, on account of his bouncy hair.
Hei said, “Senior is right. Instead of praying in your temple, you’ve come all the way to the Myriad Mountains to piss off Senior and even dare talk about doing Heaven’s bidding. What an obnoxious idiot!”
Jian Qian sneered, a hint of cruelty marring his holy features. “Fiend, my nature wasn’t to pray, but to warmonger! Ah Mi Tuo Fo, begone!”
Jian Qian punched as he stood on the boat. The sky exploded in a glorious and dazzling Buddhist Glow, taking the form of a huge Buddha glaring down on the two. The very air shook under its mighty power and roar.
Hei gasped. [What kind of art is this to unleash so much power?]
He could tell the monk was only in the Nascent Soul Stage, yet this Buddha’s furious punch made even him feel danger. [Something’s not right about this monk. He must be among the best in his temple.]
