The once-in-three- centuries Continent Assembly officially began with the coming of Cheng Changan.

What followed was endless buzzing and clamour as the massive crowd prattled, from the nine Lords to the scions and Demons;  not to forget the divine music.

Palaces and halls litter the area around the Dragon Phoenix Lake, framed by lush gardens with fragrant flowers, a thin mist of Spiritual Energy, with cranes and Luans dancing in the sky while monkeys served as waiters.

Chen Changan walked into the center of the Continent Assembly, hiding his astonishment at the preparations.

Ling Bao’er and Foxy, on either side, didn’t look impressed or at ease, while the humanized Xiao Hei brought up the rear, serious and tense.

Chen Changan took all the attention, being the biggest attraction, but out of fear of Upper Realms’ retaliation affecting them as well, they got cold feet. Not daring to strike up a conversation.

They were content merely to watch this grand persona with all their worship and respect. Or maybe it was due to that deafening thumping coming from Chen Changan when he arrived. Who could say?

One thing was certain: both scared them witless.

Such a supreme existence, the ultimate powerhouse, wasn’t going to talk to some nobodies.

Status and fear of Upper Realm’s Immortals held most of the crowd back.

“Senior, you’re here.” Ah’Miao walked over in joy, wearing a graceful and dignified dress.

Bai Yue and Fox Demon Empress were by her side. There was also a grave man in purple bearing a striking resemblance to the catgirl in their group.

Chen Changan smiled. He finally knew someone here. “Ah’Miao, it’s been a while.”

“Greetings, Senior.” Bai Yue and Fox Demon Empress expressed their respects.

Ling Bao’er and Foxy blinked, relaxing at seeing familiar faces.

Chen Changan smiled, “Ah’Miao, will the person next to you introduce himself?”

The Mist Province Lord smiled as he bowed, “I am Mist Province’s Nangong Tianwen, Ah’Miao’s Father. Allow me to express my gratitude for watching over my Daughter in the Myriad Mountains.”

Chen Changan waved him off, “It was nothing.”

Nine Swords Sect’s Ling Hai and Ling Qingshan rushed with some Elders to bow to Chen Changan.

With so many people crowding Chen Changan, some cultivators in the audience scrunched up the courage to talk to him.

Chen Changan was not some lofty and antisocial guy like they thought. He might look like a supreme being in the eyes of all, but he was quite friendly and easy going once they talked it out.

As Mist Province Lord and Chen Changan chatted, the other Lords joined along with many bigshots and Empty Immortals.

As more and more renowned people came, Chen Changan became the life of the gathering.

Making friends with the guy who could slap Immortals into the hereafter made coming to the Continent Assembly the highlight of their lives.

Chen Changan was restless, becoming the centre of everyone’s attention. He was a deadbeat at heart and never experienced such an event.

As everyone paid attention to Chen Changan, the gathering became livelier.

One woman approached, her long hair bundled around her head, with nine jade Luan hairpins holding it in place.

Her grace was unmarred, her beauty out of this world. She was none other than Ancient Phoenix Sect’s Holy Lady Ming He, Elder of Ghost Province Cauldron.

She smiled, “Everyone, with Senior’s arrival, let us all take seats.”

The powers that be took seats at the jade table.

“Senior, please.” The Holy Lady gestured.

Chen Changan smiled back, giving her a closer look. He knew who this remarkable woman was from talking with the rest—his Master’s close friend.

[She doesn’t look half bad. Master sure knows his stuff.]
