At the end of the discussion, Tamara brought up Riku.

That was to be expected. After all, Riku looked like a boy from a noble family, and was clearly not an adult. Yet, he was working with the adventurers.

If she did not suspect anything, she would not be in her current position.

However, when it came to Riku’s case, Arisa simply told her that he was working on a separate request. Thus, Tamara did not ask any further questions.

Basically, there was a confidentiality obligation for each individual request, especially if a noble was involved.

Information from the branch offices was known to headquarters, but the reverse was not necessarily true.

Tamara saw such confidentially as natural, so she did not ask any further questions.

This was the wisdom Tamara had developed. It was the thing that had allowed her to continue working with adventurers for so long.

After the discussion, Roman and the others were led back to the reception by the receptionist, who had called them.

This time, they were going to receive a request.

Tamara had already told the receptionist that Roman and the others could take on requests of a rank higher than their own.

When Roman and the others returned to the reception area, they attracted the attention of some of the other adventurers who were still there.

The adventurers, who had seen them being called by the branch manager Tamara, were trying to gauge Roman’s abilities.

Of course, they knew they were being watched, but without showing any concern, Roman and the others looked through each of the requests posted on the bulletin board.

They were even looking at requests that they could not take.

“Why are they looking at requests that they can’t take?”

Riku asked Arisa, so as to not disturb Roman and the others as they were seriously looking through the requests. His voice had naturally become quiet, such that it did not reach the other adventurers who were watching them.

“If you look at the requests posted, you can see what kind of requests are being offered around here, right?”

“Yeah.”

“We check what kind of monsters appear in the area from that. We also check for the materials that can be sold.”

Even if an adventurer went out to defeat a monster as part of a request, there were times when they ended up fighting monsters other than the one specified in the request.

They were checking in advance, so that they could convert as much of the materials obtained in such unexpected battles into cash.

Even within the same continent, materials in demand may differ between the north and the south.

It was only natural for adventurers who belonged to headquarters, and had traveled around the world using the Transfer Gate, to know which materials could be exchanged in each region.

It would be ideal if they could return to headquarters after each mission, but sometimes that was not possible. Thus, it was a good idea to be prepared.

When the Romans had finished checking the list of requests, and were finally about to receive a real request, they went to the reception desk without taking anything from the list of requests.

Roman, the team leader, went to the reception desk and asked.

“Where can I find information on the monsters that appear around this region?”

“Eh? Oh, yes. It’s in that room.”

The receptionist, who had not been asked such a question in a long time, was surprised and pointed to the location of the documents in a somewhat hurried fashion.

“Is it free to be browsed?”

“Yes, of course.”

This time, Roman replied, “Thank you,” and headed to the room with his companions.

The adventurers who were watching their every move also saw what happened. However, as usual, Roman and his friends continued to act nonchalantly without being bothered by their stares.

Riku, who was also watching the surrounding scene, was pulled by Arisa and headed for the same room as Roman and his friends.

Other than them, there was not a single person in the room looking for such information.

Without paying any attention to this, Roman gave instructions to his companions, and they began to look through the documents, dividing up the work.

Riku, who arrived a little later, looked at them and then turned his gaze to Arisa.

“Is this for the same reason as before?”

This time, Arisa smiled at Riku, who had found the answer himself without asking, as if to say ‘Well done.’

“That’s right. There are many monsters that don’t appear in requests.” Arisa continued.

“Of course, there are also monsters that don’t appear in these documents. But there are many more things you would have to do to deal with them if you go out completely unprepared.”

Riku nodded in agreement. Watching their actions, he realized how naive his own thinking had been.

“I thought adventurers just went out to defeat monsters.”

Arisa stared intently at Riku’s expression as he said this.

After acknowledging that there was nothing in his expression but admiration, Arisa replied.

“There are probably some adventurers like that. But even if you go to any place, and meet monsters, there are only a handful of people who can take care of it using their abilities alone.”

After saying this, Arisa paused for a moment and then smiled at Riku and said.

“Riku-sama, you’ve met one of those select few, haven’t you?”

“Eh…!?”

Riku, taken aback by the sudden question. He looked around, wondering who it could be.

“What? Are you too close to notice? They are still following you, right?”

“Eh, ah, I see… Kouhi and Mitsuki?”

“That’s right.”

Arisa nodded with a smile at Riku, who had answered correctly.

Kouhi, who was supposed to be protecting Riku, was actually watching over him closely right now. However, because of her exceptional beauty, she knew that she would cause a commotion if she showed herself. So, she was hiding her presence.

She was watching from somewhere right now, but they just had no idea where.

“The first thing we teach at the Adventurer Training School is how to deal with situations like this.”

“Yeah.”

Arisa was secretly relieved when she saw Riku nodding obediently.

There were quite a few people who did not listen to what they were told, and rushed out into the field. In a way, as long as they could return alive, there would be no problem. After all, the world of adventurers was a world of being responsible for themselves.

However, if it was possible, Arisa did not want Riku to have such a headstrong personality if he were to continue to aim to become an adventurer in the future.

This was not just because it was Riku. She hoped that all the students she had taught up to now would be like that.

After that, Riku also joined Roman and the others to research on monsters that appear in the area from the reference materials.

As a prince, Riku was educated, so there was no way he could not read. He was able to read the materials he was given without any problems.

From these materials, he could find out information about monsters he had never seen before. As a result, he could also understand the importance of information, and how such things should be known in advance.

In the end, that day ended with just preliminary preparations. The actual request was postponed until the next day.

It was only when Riku actually went out into the fields outside the town that he truly realized the importance of advance preparation.

Currently, he only has knowledge gained from the text, and although he understood most of it in his head, it did not really sink in.

It would be through actual experience that he would come to understand this.
