Cultivators were tough, wielding magic treasures at the incoming torrent of death, but those weapons broke on contact, with many owners ripped limb from limb in a shower of blood and viscera. The unlucky ones were eaten alive, soul and all.
The skies were died red with blood as heads rolled.
The Continent Assembly’s cultivators were put through a meat grinder and squeezed to a bloody pulp.
All hope in stopping this senseless slaughter was lost.
“What the hell kind of ghosts are these? How are they so savage?”
Terror gripped the hearts of many, and their courage turned into fear.
The relentless dark army of Spirits grew more rampant, picking up anything that took their fancy—anything still breathing.
The enchantress’ flawless features were marred by the coldness she exuded, muttering. “Asura Immortal Domain’s Asura Souls. I can’t believe there’s a recultivator genius from that Domain!”
The sudden appearance of a large Malignant Spirit hacking with its rusty greatsword at Bai Yue caught her attention.
Bai Yue was at Nascent Soul Stage, but powerless to stop this large Spirit’s attack.
It wasn’t just Bai Yue’s life threatened, but many more all over the Continent Assembly.
Even her Grandmother, Fox Demon Empress, was cornered by three Spirits in golden armour, fighting hard just to stay alive.
As death came for Bai Yue, the enchantress flashed in front with an outstretched finger. Ripples spread from it and pointed straight at the large Spirit.
The Spirit turned into motes and vanished.
Bai Yue eased a breath, “Thank you, fellow Daoist for saving my life.”
The woman smiled back. “Seventh Princess, I’ve waited centuries for you. How are you so slow, taking so long, and yet not even reaching the Spirit Severing Stage?”
Bai Yue was stumped. She was clueless about what the enchantress was talking about. “Sorry, fellow Daoist, you must have me confused with someone else. I’m not the Seventh Princess you speak of.”
The woman’s right index finger fell on Bai Yue’s forehead, and a half-moon appeared with a bright light.
A flood of memories rushed to the surface, and Bai Yue frowned in pain.
The woman saw Bai Yue could take it and used her other hand to press on Bai Yue’s head. “Seventh Princess, before Spirit Severing Stage, absorbing the recultivation Immortal Mark will provide some pain, but it’s the only way.”
“A genius of the Asura Immortal Domain is recultivating on the Nine Province Continent, and once he takes all the nine cauldrons, it will be hard to return home. We can’t let them take the cauldrons!”
Another tough Spirit came, but the enchantress ignored it, not bothered to even raise an arm. A mere look was enough to freeze it in place and vaporize it.
The Continent Assembly was in disarray. Shouts drowned the skies, while blood died the Earth.
Rumbling came from all around, spreading evil and death like the sound of heavy drums.
The deluge of Malignant Spirits never ceased pouring out of the dark mist, blotting the sky and robbing the world of sunlight.
The cultivators and the Lords, with the Immortal Slayers and Empty Immortals included, felt the pressure mounting.
[What horror is this? What are they planning?]
Chen Changan still sat in his seat, drinking and watching the tragedy unfold with dull eyes.
He just wanted the Continent Assembly to be over and head home, but now he was forced to deal with this sudden twist of events.
Xiao Hei, Ling Bao’er, and Foxy were in the thick of it since the start, killing any wandering spirit trying to upset Chen Changan’s peace.
The girls might be weak, but they had Immortal Equipment by their side, able to drive back and even kill the enemy.
It came with the downside of taxing their energy reserves. They had eaten two Immortal Herbs already.
In short, the cultivators were in Mortal danger, on the brink of falling to their doom.
The nonstop flow of wine was replaced with a river of blood, painting hell on Earth.
“Hi-hi, since you’re not handing the cauldrons, all of you will just have to die!”
