“Wait. Are you seriously just going to leave me here to deal with it on my own now?” Yang Ji could not help but complain. Still, it was only a brief moment of frustration. He was sharp enough to pick up on the things Mo had said.

“Fine. I’ll solve it myself.” Yang Ji sighed.

Yang Ji thought back on the key things Mo had personally said. Namely, that ‘to control Black Ink Strength is to be a part of it, and for it to be a part of him’. Though it sounded like sophistry, Yang Ji believes there was more to this than meets the eye.

For cultivators, the normal course of making an object part of the person was to leave behind their Soul Imprint. After all, that was what they did for most Artifacts. Artifacts were connected to a person when they have a Soul Imprint on them, and wiping out the Soul Imprint would render the Artifact free for anyone to take over.

Naturally, that was the first thought Yang Ji had come to. So, he closed his eyes and tried to refine the Black Ink Strength blob using his Spiritual Energy, trying to form a connection to it, and place his Soul Imprint on it.

However, just as he was about to start, he sensed a disturbance in the Black Ink Space.

Wondering if Mo had felt guilty about leaving him on his own, he opened his eyes. However, the figure that appeared was not the person he was hoping for. In fact, he began to panic.

“What are you doing here?” Yang Ji could not help but question. After all, the person who appeared was the one who was supposed to stay outside of this Black Ink Space and make sure he did not get corrupted!

“Erm…” Yang Xu, who had suddenly appeared here, found it difficult to calmly explain with her Brother so stimulated and panicked.

Seeing how he had scared her, Yang Ji quickly apologised. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you. It’s just…”

“It’s fine.” Yang Xu also quickly shook her head in understanding and continued to explain. “Mo told me to get in here. He said that you would need my help in refining the Black Ink Strength.”

“And you just believed him?” Yang Ji found it doubtful she would leave her post when his life was at risk. After all, if there was one thing he knew, out of everyone in the world, she was always the one who was most concerned about him. Even their Biological Mother, Su Yan, was not comparable to her.

“Of course not. He made another Dao Oath that we would be safe and you would not get corrupted regardless of what you did. I mean, if he has gone so far, wouldn’t you believe him? Also, he said if I did not help you with it, you would not be able to accomplish anything.” Yang Xu sighed a little.

She truly would have preferred to ensure her Brother’s safety, but if no result yielded, then they would be stuck here for who knows how long. Weighing the options, she might as well do as Mo had asked.

“Wait… why would I need you here with me? Did Mo explain why?” Yang Ji was confused. After all, why would he need another person to help him refine something? [Did this mean my initial guess was wrong?]

Yang Xu shook her head, “I’m not too sure. He did not explain much to me. In fact, after what seemed to be sealing us off inside the cultivation room, he was in a rush to leave.”

“He sealed us outside as well?” Yang Ji asked, seeking confirmation.

“Yeah. Did he seal off this place as well? Or, was it always like this?” Yang Xu looked around and tried to sense the surroundings. However, there seemed to be an impenetrable wall around them, one which seemed to isolate them from the world.

This was strange. From what she knew, within the Black Ink Space, they should be able to connect to other Black Ink Clansmen who were also within the Black Ink Space.

Yang Ji scratched his head in frustration, and he just began to explain everything that had happened on his side so far.

Once everything was made clear, Yang Xu also began to ponder. “If it requires the both of us, then maybe it has something to do with our Cultivation Technique?”

The twins cultivated using the same Cultivation Technique. This was not an ordinary Cultivation Technique and could only be used by the two. Typically, for Dragons and Phoenixes, they would cultivate using a Cultivation Technique from their Bloodline Inheritance. They would need to focus on refining their Bloodline to make it more pure. However, for the twins, it was slightly different.

Their Bloodlines were already extremely pure. In fact, it was doubtful if it could get any purer. Furthermore, in terms of Bloodline Inheritance, they had none. At least, not from the usual way Divine Spirits get their Bloodline Inheritance, which was knowledge directly entering their minds, seeming from a distant memory, over time.

Their Cultivation Technique was more like an instinct, one which they had known seemingly from birth. It was only refined with Shi’s help.

What they had was technically a dual Cultivation Technique, similar to what the Hu Sisters, Hu Mei’er and Hu Jiao’er, had learnt. However, it was different in the fact that this Cultivation Technique was meant for them, and them alone. After all, they were a rare breed of twins, that were both of opposite genders, that were both of different Divine Spirits, with parents who stood at the apex of the two strongest Divine Spirit Clans. It was only natural that what they had was vastly different.

It was such that their Heaven Earth Symmetry Cultivation Technique was born.

It was questionable if the connection they were born with got stronger with this Cultivation Technique. Nevertheless, this was the Cultivation Technique that made them very different from the rest, different from even their Half Brothers and Sisters. It enabled them to even share mastery of the different Daos and seemed to have connected their cultivation together.

In other words, if one of them breakthrough in their cultivation realm, the other would also breakthrough. If one had been enlightened, the other would also be enlightened.

This was something strange and unique about them, something which the twins took pride in, especially Yang Xu. This uniqueness was why her first thought was their Cultivation Technique.

Seeing as to how he could not think of anything else, Yang Ji could only agree with her conclusion, “Then, I guess we should try it.”

He immediately took the lead by sitting down cross-legged and pushing out his hands.

Yang Xu, having done this countless times by now, also did the same. She sat directly opposite of her Brother, faced him, and also pushed her hands out to meet his.

Once their palms connected, they immediately started to circulate their Spiritual Energy. Typically, it would be their Qi and Spiritual Energy, but in the Black Ink Space, they could only circulate Spiritual Energy.

Their Spiritual Energy flowed out from their Souls, and connected to one another through their hands. There was no conflict whatsoever. Even when their Spiritual Energies were clearly different, with opposing characteristics, when it was these two together, whatever they did was always in harmony.

In fact, their Spiritual Energy would even go into the other party’s Soul Body without resistance. This was something unheard of. Since, for others, this would mean allowing the other party to dye their Soul, essentially corrupting it. However, for the twins this was not an issue.

It was normal for them.

In fact, when Yang Xu’s Spiritual Energy entered her Brother, it had basically completely transformed to be his. At the same time, whatever he sent to her had become hers. Even if they were completely different types of Spiritual Energies, both could make use of the others’ Spiritual Energy.

At the same time, their thoughts were also transmitted to each other instantly, as though they were talking normally. It was as though time was immaterial. A full conversation between them could have taken place without one second passing.

In fact, even feelings and emotions could be transmitted, but they tend to not wish to go that far.

For now, Yang Ji was just sharing the sensation of how he felt with the Black Ink Strength in his body.
