“Humph, so you were hiding your cultivation. Like 7th Layer’s going to change anything! I’ve reached it three thousand years ago, ready to enter the 8th in only five hundred years more. A fresh 7th Layer Immortal Lord, with shoddy Dao understanding as well, is no match for me!”

Mei Niang smiled. “7th, you say? Immortal Lord Shen Wu, look again.”

An even more powerful wave came from Mei Niang, with such force that it sent Shen Wu flying.

She was not at the 7th Layer, but the 8th Layer!

[H-how the hell is this possible?] Shen Wu’s face fell in disbelief.

“Immortal Lord Shen Wu, you thought I’d stagnated at the 6th Layer of Immortal Lord; now I’m curious as to your impressions as you find reality most uncooperative.”

Mei Niang’s mood uplifted at the looks Shen Wu was pulling, but most of all, she thanked Chen Changan.

[I have Senior to thank for imparting Dao through his performance. Otherwise, today would’ve ended with Shen Wu killing me.]

“Damn it!” Shen Wu cursed, fleeing at once.

He would’ve fought a peer on the same level, but this was too much. He was the one losing here, and that was a certainty. It made escape the only option for survival.

Mei Niang’s smile faded, vanishing from her spot and blocking Shen Wu’s escape. “Leaving so soon?”

    She followed with an attack.

Her Immortal Zither was out, and she rang it loudly to unleash a huge shock wave.

The sound turned into a Dragon as it shot for Shen Wu.

The sky dimmed as the Immortal Lords went to battle. The destruction spread and the landscape was scarred with every blow.

At their cultivation, one Layer was no different from an adult picking on a child.

Shen Wu had no way of escaping, nor could he beat Mei Niang.

A Dragon Roared and the sound inflicted heavy wounds on Shen Wu.

Then the music shifted and coiled around him tightly.

“Let me go!” He snapped, struggling with all his might.

His eyes were burning with lust for murder and regret.

“I could kill you, but I have a much better idea. I’ll give you to Senior.”

Mei Niang skipped to the Myriad Mountains with Shen Wu in tow, willing or not.

The Absolute Domain, and its Immortal Land by extension, spread for kilometres.

It could now hold thousands upon thousands of beings on the path of cultivation. Demons, Monsters, Spirits, or creatures all lived in peace and harmony.

Not a day went by without someone or something advancing. They felt each day brought immense progress on the path to Immortality. Plenty of Nascent Soul cultivators cropped up, with even a substantial number of Spirit Severing Demons.

And each time one got bumped, even if a Layer, Chen Changan earned Domain Points.

It led to not only inhuman beings cultivating in such a paradise, but humans setting up abodes here as well. All with Chen Changan’s explicit approval, of course. It gave the humans the green light to settle and for the Demons and other creatures to let them be.

Above Eternity Temple, a black-scaled Flood Dragon rode the clouds as it brought Bai Yue over.

“Young Master, Miss Bai Yue is here.”

Chen Changan paused his carving of a full-moon jade, turning expectant eyes at the newcomer.

Bai Yue had changed from before. Absorbing the Immortal Mark transformed her into a true genius.

“Greetings, Senior. How may I be of help?”

Despite her new memories, Chen Changan still gave her a peculiar feeling, like he was an enigma, a puzzle with no solution. His very glance felt intimidating.

Chen Changan smiled. “Should I call you Bai Yue, or Black Tortoise Immortal Domain’s Seventh Princess?”

Bai Yue flinched, feeling her heart racing. She made sure to show no sign that anything had changed since she absorbed the Immortal Mark but Chen Changan found her out still.

[Will Senior blame me for hiding myself?]

“Bai Yue, I don’t care who you are.”

    She relaxed.

“As an Upper Realm genius, a recultivator, you must’ve descended for the Nine Province Cauldron, and the Heavenly Dao Protector title.”

    “Yes, Senior.”

“A month from now, I sincerely hope that you can become my disciple in the contest.” Chen Changan smiled.

“And while becoming my disciple is secondary, what’s most important is the Heavenly Dao Protector title.”

Chen Changan was blunt, leaving Bai Yue feeling awkward.

“Senior, I do want the position, but I also wish to become Senior’s disciple. Senior is a supreme being; I find it to be my greatest fortune and blessing to be Senior’s disciple.”
