Initially, the Spirit Empress was worried that her response would be inappropriate, given her identity. But soon, she came to her senses and regarded herself as Gu Changge’s Cousin.

Gu Changge did not tell her what to do while on their way there. The Spirit Empress could only play along and continue speaking.

Ming Xiu realised what was going on and felt that it was impolite of her to keep staring at Gu Changge. Still, she asked curiously, “Is this man your Cousin, Lady Huang?”

She meekly looked away while Gu Changge flashed a smile at her.

The Spirit Empress nodded. “I’ve left home to attend to some matters, and I was waiting for my Cousin to come.”

“I see.” Ming Xiu did not doubt her. She only stole glances at Gu Changge.

She felt that since the Spirit Empress was the Young Mistress of a prestigious Family, her Cousin surely had a powerful background as well. He was a handsome and graceful young man. It was apparent that he was not an ordinary person.

The Spirit Empress replied with a smile, “My Cousin has heard a lot about Young Master Chu Lian and admires him very much. He would like to get to know him. It so happens that we can wait for Young Master Chu Lian to come back now.”

Ming Xiu nodded upon hearing that and stopped sizing Gu Changge up.

It was not that she was an inexperienced person. It was just that she was surprised to see a handsome young man who looked like he had walked out of a painting in the middle of nowhere.

“My Senior Brother will be pleased if he finds out about this. He has great ambitions and ideas, but what he lacks are friends who holds the same beliefs.”

Ming Xiu smiled and regarded Gu Changge to be someone like the Spirit Empress, who was displeased with the Spirit Ruin Royal Family and intended to overthrow them.

Those who were in favoured by Heaven would get a lot of help, and those who had lost the Heaven’s favour would be on their own.

Many Forces had been disgruntled with the Spirit Ruin Royal Family for a long time, but no one was able to initiate a rebellion.

Chu Lian had said that when the right time came, he would take the lead and many Forces would help him to overthrow the Spirit Ruin Royal Family, after which he would build a peaceful world that belonged to the people.

Ming Xiu admired Chu Lian for his ambitions. She did not think that he was boasting. As long as he could establish a lot of connections and gain sufficient resources, he would not have to worry about executing his plans.

“Ling Huang has told me about Brother Chu Lian’s goals, and I admire ambitious people like him. The world has been tormented by the Spirit Ruin Royal Family for a long time. As long as there’s a chance, we’ll surely overthrow them.” Gu Changge put on a gentle smile and conversed with Ming Xiu.

Ming Xiu was not vigilant against the Spirit Empress and the others. She felt awkward and nervous in the beginning, but with Gu Changge intentionally talking about this topic, she soon conversed with them and expressed her admiration for Chu Lian.

It was not a big deal anyway. It was just that the different Clans were terrified of the Spirit Ruin Royal Family. Even their Master was not willing to have a hand in this matter.

On the other hand, Chu Lian was willing to take the lead and go against the Spirit Ruin Royal Family. For this reason alone, he was worth Ming Xiu’s respect, not to mention that most people were not comparable to him for what he had achieved.

“My Senior Brother is not only ambitious but also plans for the long term. He’s considering how he will deal with the Spirit Ruin Royal Family.” At the mention of this topic, Ming Xiu was invigorated. Her gaze seemed to be radiating a glow as she state her admiration for Chu Lian.

Gu Changge kept a faint smile on his face and occasionally agreed with what she said.

Variables or Fortuitous Ones usually had something in common. They normally had some goals to achieve or some responsibilities on their shoulders. Some of them only did things for themselves, whereas some of them were concerned about all living beings and wanted to make things better for them.

Meanwhile, the Spirit Empress had no regard for all these concerns. Even though Chu Lian had a Supreme Treasure, he was still no different from an ant in the face of the Spirit Ruin Royal Family. Did he even think he could go against a juggernaut like the Spirit Ruin Royal Family?

Since his actions had caught the attention of others, there was no way he was allowed to grow his power. Was he so naive as to think that he could overthrow the Spirit Ruin Royal Family when he did not even have a future? That would never happen.

With his hands behind his back, Gu Changge looked down at the ruins. He initially disregarded all these as well, but when he detected something, he put on a playful smile.

The Spirit Empress noticed his expression and looked in the same direction, but she could not sense anything. She could not even detect Chu Lian’s aura, let alone see through anything.

Presently, in the depths of the ruins which were covered in a miasma, Chu Lian was pretending to search around while donning a solemn expression.

“You say you’re the Artifact Spirit of the Sphere of Ambition?” He was conversing with the voice in his head. A myriad of expressions came over him as he could not believe what was going on.

<Yes, you can call me the Artifact Spirit, Eleventh Host. Considering your situation, I suggest that you run away immediately.> An emotionless voice sounded in Chu Lian’s mind and spoke to him.

When Chu Lian heard the voice, his emotions were undulating in his heart. He tried very hard to calm himself down.

He did not know what was going on. When he was looking for the last bit of the Ghost Axe Clan’s Fortuity, a monotonous voice suddenly sounded in his mind, warning him that a horrific being was approaching and that he should be vigilant.

He was shocked by the voice that came out of nowhere.

It took him quite some time to recover from his shock. Only then did he realise the voice came from the Sphere of Ambition.

The voice claimed that it was the Artifact Spirit of the Sphere of Ambition and that he was the Eleventh Host that it had found.

Before him, there were ten other hosts in the past.

He did not expect that an Artifact Spirit was living in the Sphere of Ambition. When he was acknowledged to be the owner of the treasure, he did not detect any fluctuations or changes.

Many thoughts flashed in his mind. He had experienced many things and seen how abstruse the Sphere of Ambition was. Therefore, he was able to pull himself together quickly and ask solemnly, “Are you saying a horrific being is approaching? What do you mean by that?”

He was eager to find out about it. He was in a remote area where only the ruins of the Ghost Axe Clan were left. [Why would there be a horrific being here? Is it a Primal Spirit of the Ghost Axe Clan that had not dissipated? Even when so close to the Immortal Realm, can I still not go against the other party?]

The Artifact Spirit’s dispassionate voice sounded again. <I am being literal in my words. There’s a terrifying aura within a radius of 10,000 kilometres around you. Considering your current cultivation level, you’re unable to discover it.>

Upon hearing that, Chu Lian was startled for a moment before coming to his senses. Shocked, he felt a crawling sensation on his scalp while having the urge to turn around and look.

Still, his strong willpower made sure he showed no anomaly, though his forehead was beaded with sweat.

He forced himself to calm down and conversed with the Artifact Spirit. “What should I do now? Where’s the horrific being? Is he watching me now? Does he live in this area? Has my arrival bothered him? Or, did he suddenly come here?”

He could only pin his hopes on the Sphere of Ambition. Since he could not even discover the other party despite his power, it would be effortless for the person to end his life.

Moreover, since the Sphere of Ambition’s Artifact Spirit could discover the horrific being, it probably had a way.

<Don’t pin your hopes on me. I’m only an Artifact Spirit. I merely exist because of a special Matter. I’m not equipped with the power to help you. If I never felt the aura of this horrific being, I would not have awakened. It is just that this aura felt like the same kind of aura from of my First Master. It’s inconceivable that such a being exists in this Civilisation.> said the Sphere of Ambition’s Artifact Spirit impassively. When it was about to finish its words, its voice was slightly tinged with emotions.

Chu Lian noticed that the Artifact Spirit used the ‘First Master’, not the ‘First Host’. It was probably a matter of acknowledgement. Anyway, he did not have time to ponder that.

He had no idea what the Artifact Spirit’s words truly meant. He only had a feeling that the horrific being who had suddenly approached had a power that was beyond his imagination.

The first thing that came to his mind was the Sphere of Ambition. Did the other party suddenly come to this place because he had detected the Sphere of Ambition’s presence? Or, was it merely a coincidence?

<The Sphere of Ambition’s existence can conceal all the Heavenly Secrets and block out all the deductions. Even if my First Master is still around, he still would not discover the Sphere of Ambition’s presence. Since you’re the Eleventh Host, your aura has been concealed by the Sphere of Ambition. No one can sense your presence, so you don’t have to worry about it. The other party also can’t hear the conversation between us. Although the terrifying aura has disappeared, you still can’t let your guard down.> Explained the Sphere of Ambition’s Artifact Spirit as though knowing what was on Chu Lian’s mind.

Chu Lian was relieved upon hearing that. [The other party might have left, which is why his aura is no longer around?]

He did not have to worry much as long as the other party was not there to snatch away the Sphere of Ambition.

Still, he was slightly worried and doubtful. What if the Sphere of Ambition’s Artifact Spirit was mistaken? What if the other party was here for the Sphere of Ambition?

Because of the environment he grew up in, he was always doubtful and worried.

“Since the other party cannot hear the conversation between us, why are you telling me to run away?” He asked.

The Sphere of Ambition’s Artifact Spirit replied emotionlessly, <The Sphere of Ambition is a Supreme Treasure that countless powerful cultivators crave. If they find out about its existence, do you think you can keep it, given your power? I don’t think you’re intelligent enough to ensure you won’t show any anomalies in front of those existences. Even with the Sphere of Ambition concealing your aura, they might still detect something. You have to know that intellect is the greatest power in the world. Those keen and intelligent will be able to easily detect any anomaly. What you have to do is stay far away from those people. In fact, even after you’re gone, they might realise something is off.>

“Intelligence?” Chu Lian was covered in sweat when he heard that. He had been showing off during this period. If some people paid more attention to him, they might realise an anomaly.

The Artifact Spirit had given him a warning and made him realise his situation. He should not stay in this place for long. Regardless of the reason that the horrific being was there, he had to leave this place as quickly as possible.

“I was planning to refine the remaining Fortuity in this place. It seems that I’m running out of time.” After making a decision, he still felt fearful.

Just then, he thought of another problem. He could not help but ask, “As the Sphere of Ambition’s Artifact Spirit, you’re not supposed to tell me this. Even if the Sphere of Ambition is taken away from me, you’ll just have a new host. Why would you help me by telling me all these?”

That was the doubt he had. Since the Artifact Spirit was an intelligent being, choosing a more powerful and mysterious person to be the host would be a better option.

Upon hearing the question, the Sphere of Ambition’s Artifact Spirit remained silent for a moment before explaining, <Since the Sphere of Ambition has chosen you, you’re its host now. It’s predestined. Moreover, the Sphere of Ambition does not have sufficient energy to look for a new host. Your life is tied to the Sphere of Ambition. If you die, the Sphere of Ambition will also fall apart.>

Chu Lian was relieved upon hearing that. He did not expect this kind of answer, but it was good news to him.

Then, he pulled himself together and ensured he would not show any anomaly before returning to the hilltop.

He intended to bring people like his Junior Sister and Ling Huang to leave this dangerous place.

If there was a chance, he would go somewhere else and see whether he could absorb more Power of Fortuity.

The Ghost Axe Clan did not leave behind a lot of Power of Fortuity. He would not feel heartbroken by giving it up.

Presently, Ming Xiu tiptoed to look down at the ruins from the hilltop when she heard a whoosh. A divine light shot out of the forest. He was none other than Chu Lian.

“Senior Brother!” Ming Xiu put on a smile and waved her hand at Chu Lian. What she did not notice was that Chu Lian was shocked and doubtful.

[Why is there suddenly a young man on the hilltop? Who is he?] He felt something was off when he saw the handsome and graceful young man in white clothes who stood beside the Spirit Empress.

He soon recovered from his shock and landed on the ground without showing any emotions.

He did not immediately respond to his Junior Sister. Instead, he looked at Gu Changge and cupped his fists. “May I know who you are?”

He also stole glances at the two people behind Gu Changge. One of them was a shrivelled old man in a black robe, and the other was an alluring woman.

However, he could not see through any of their cultivation. It was apparent that they were more powerful than he was.
