In the midst of the Battlefield, Ni Chen appeared dishevelled. His hair was in disarray, and blood was leaking from the corner of his mouth. His Life Force was rapidly fading away, drained by the terrifying Dao Injury inflicted upon his Dao Fruit.

Destructive black energy hovered around him, constantly eroding his Life Force. Upon discovering the harsh truth, Ni Chen realised that there was no hope for escape. Gu Changge had foreseen this and had completely blocked any chance of survival.

“Gu Changge, you are truly merciless. Karma will get you, sooner or later. With the last remnants of the Deep Control Clan’s Fortuity, I curse you to eternal darkness. May you suffer the cruellest tortures, your Soul trampled upon by countless beings on the Path of Reincarnation. Your deeds in this life will be repaid a thousandfold in the end…”

Ni Chen smiled bitterly, his body trembling with despair as he spoke these words through his gritted teeth.

By the time he finished speaking, he had a sinister look on his face and his eyes were bloodshot. The moment he uttered that curse, streaks of radiant Power of Fortuity within his Knowledge Sea were swiftly drawn away, seemingly absorbed by an indescribable force in the void.

His body trembled uncontrollably. He struggled to remain on his feet after his recent fall in power.

Outside the battlefield, the onlookers’ faces contorted with shock as they witnessed Ni Chen’s aura steadily diminishing. His Life Force was vanishing at an alarming rate, as if consumed by a malevolent force. Simultaneously, signs of ageing rapidly manifested on Ni Chen’s face.

Sunken eye sockets, wrinkles, greying hair, and even his teeth started falling out.

At that moment, the sinister and resentful expression on his face made him look like a ghost from the depths of Hell.

Gu Xianer, silently observing the events unfold, knowing well that Ni Chen had no means of escape or turn the situation to his favour. Yet, she furrowed her brow as Ni Chen sacrificed his remaining Life Force to curse Gu Changge.

She stepped forward, unleashing a brilliant Sword Qi that streaked across the sky and snuffed out the light of Ni Chen’s Soul. She spared his physical body, as there was another person’s Soul residing within it that could still be revived.

Outside the battlefield, Ni Chen’s followers, especially those who were unaware that ‘Wang Wushang’s’ body had been taken over by Ni Chen, felt despair and regret upon witnessing his demise. They had followed Ni Chen because he was highly regarded by Gu Changge and could most likely become his Successor. Little did they know that Ni Chen was merely a pitiful pawn in Gu Changge’s grand scheme, manipulated from beginning to end without his knowledge.

With Ni Chen’s death, they too would face dire consequences.

The remaining Ancestors of the Deep Control Clan also succumbed to despair after witnessing Ni Chen’s demise. They took their own lives, severing their last ties to existence.

They knew the powerful beings present would not allow them to escape, so they chose to embrace death rather than endure humiliation.

Outside the battlefield, the leaders of various Forces watched in silence, their expressions complex. Even Gu Wuwang, Ming, and others remained silent as they witnessed Ni Chen’s final moments with chills running down their spines.

It was not due to mourning the loss of a fallen ally, but rather the realisation of the despair and powerlessness one faced when opposing Gu Changge. They dared not fathom the horrors that awaited those who stood against him.

Previously, they had only been aware of Gu Changge’s formidable strength. Now, they understood that every action he took had been meticulously planned and orchestrated, unfolding step by step. Though his physical presence was absent from the Prosperous Dao True World, he controlled and manipulated every event within it.

    He was actually omnipresent.

Ni Chen had lived in a delusion, dreaming of a bright future that was nothing more than an illusion. It was only in his dying moments that he understood his role as a mere tool in Gu Changge’s hands.

This made the others wonder if they were also mere pawns in Gu Changge’s grand scheme and were destined to meet the same tragic demise as Ni Chen did today in the future.

“Hopefully we are just overthinking this.”

After observing Gu Xianer, who had closed her eyes to process the situation and heal her wounds, for a significant amount of time, the Dao Realm ancient cultivators exchanged meaningful looks and came to a mutual understanding. Based on the current circumstances, it seemed like Gu Changge harboured no hostility towards them and was genuinely working towards the betterment of the Prosperous Dao True World and the Heavenslayers Alliance.

The Tranquil Primal Sage and his disciples could not help but feel uneasy. Having heard numerous rumours about Gu Changge, Fen Ruo, who was rather curious about the ‘Demon Lord’, could not help but exclaim, “What a terrifying person…”

The expression on the face of the Tranquil Primal Sage was slightly unusual.

Although he had come to assist the Prosperous Dao True World in overcoming this crisis, his true intentions were not sincere. He was merely following the orders of the Eternal Monarch. Clearly, the Prosperous Dao True World held a special significance that captured the attention of the Eternal Monarch.

As a supreme being even in the Nine Heavens, those under the Eternal Dao Monarch were countless. Among them were numerous individuals who had transcended the Third Decay Tribulation and reached the True Dao Realm.

The Tranquil Primal Sage could not be counted among these powerful beings. At best, his true strength could only be considered average among those of the Nine Heavens.

Yet, now, in The Prosperous Dao True World, there existed such an enigmatic figure as Gu Changge, whose true strength was unfathomable. Although the background of this True World was far inferior to that of Ancient True Worlds, it was not something he could easily pry into.

If a conflict were to arise between the Eternal Dao Monarch and Gu Changge, he would be caught in the crossfire and inevitably meet his demise, eliminated both body and Soul.

[My disciple seems to hold a deep resentment towards Gu Changge. He had mentioned it to me on numerous occasions when we were in the Nine Heavens… That was the reason why I had mistakenly thought that Gu Changge was only about to attain the Dao Realm at best…] The Tranquil Primal Sage glanced at his disciple Qing Feng, feeling a tingling sensation in his scalp and a chill down his spine.

Gu Changge seemed to possess an almost omnipotent presence in the Prosperous Dao True World. It was highly likely that he had long been aware of Qing Feng’s departure from here to seek help in the Nine Heavens. The Tranquil Primal Sage could not help but wonder why Gu Changge would ignore this matter and allow Qing Feng to bring him here.

At that moment, the Tranquil Primal Sage felt extremely uneasy, as if they were being observed by a terrifying figure beyond this True World. He could imagine calm and ruthless eyes seeming to be watching his every move.

[We mustn’t stay too long in the Prosperous Dao True World! I must report this matter to the Eternal Dao Monarch as soon as possible! Without his protection, my demise is certain once I get caught up in this whirlpool!] The Tranquil Primal Sage was shaken, but resolute in his decision.

Despite the conclusion of this matter after Ni Chen’s exposure and death, there were still many loose ends to tie up. Over the years, Ni Chen had gathered numerous followers in the Prosperous Dao True World, including some Immortal Kings. With his demise, these followers were inevitably affected to varying degrees.

However, as they were unaware of Ni Chen’s true purpose and identity, their punishment did not extend to death.

Additionally, with Gu Xianer assuming the position of the new Chosen One, an announcement was made to Heaven and the universe, and a succession ceremony would be held several months later. During this period, the remnant armies of the Immortal Spirit Civilisation would also be purged, one after another.

Since Wang Wushang had a sliver of his Soul left, several Immortal King Ancestors from the Wang Family and a few experts from the Heavenslayers Alliance helped to stabilise his condition and put him on the road to recovery.

No one had expected him to be able to keep a sliver of his Soul hidden in the deepest part of his Knowledge Sea without being completely erased given the precarious situation he was in after having his physical body seized by Ni Chen. His experience could be described as having a narrow escape and also overcoming a great ordeal.

Many believed that his survival would surely bring about great opportunities in the future.

When Wang Wushang was recovering, he told everyone that even though he had indeed preserved a sliver of his Soul, it was on the verge of disappearing long ago. He had only managed to persist until now because a gentle force suddenly appeared and stabilised his Soul that was on the verge of being broken.

He suspected that the person who helped him at that time was actually Gu Changge. All of this was planned and calculated by Gu Changge early on, including his current survival. However, all these were merely his guesses, and he had no evidence to support his speculations.

Nevertheless, Wang Wushang was extremely grateful to Gu Changge.

The situation in the Prosperous Dao True World slowly calmed down after the war. All Forces began to recover and thrive. Many young and middle-aged prodigies, who became famous in this war, showed significant growth and began to catch the attention of various Forces after the situation in the Prosperous Dao True World had been completely stabilised.

With the pressure of the external environment, the competition among the various Forces within the Prosperous Dao True World became much milder, indicating a positive shift.

The Fortuity within the Prosperous Dao True World was also getting stronger and stronger. From a bird’s-eye view, one could witness dense Fortuity clouds rising like a majestic Dragon, gracefully lingering across the vast expanse of universes.

Meanwhile in the hidden Land of Reincarnation beyond the Prosperous Dao True World…

The surface of the Sea of Reincarnation shimmered like a collection of stars. Amidst this resplendent display, the majestic Tree of Epoch emerged from the ground. Each leaf was extremely thick as if cradling the radiant Sun and Moon within its embrace.

Its presence reverberated with the resounding echoes of cosmic collisions. Chaos Energy, as boundless as the ocean, hung down from the leaves. With even a single ripple, it was capable of shaking the entire universe.

When Gu Changge first arrived here, it was a barren and desolate landscape. Bleak mountain ranges surrounded the area, mist and miasma filled the cracked soil, and the remnants of war marred every inch of the land. Craters made by meteorites stretched for tens of thousands of kilometres, devoid of any signs of life.

Yet, amidst this bleakness, a remarkable transformation began to unfold. A breathtaking and exuberant liveliness blossomed, breathing life into the surroundings. The air itself became infused with Spiritual Energy. Chaos Energy divided in the void, allowing clear air to rise and turbid air to descend, giving birth to the base shape of a pristine realm.

In the Sea of Reincarnation where the Tree of Epoch emerged, countless floating specks of light gathered from all corners of the realm like fireflies. Upon closer inspection, one could behold the majestic presence of six ancient portals standing proudly in the depths of the Sea of Reincarnation.

There was a magnificent and sacred palace concealed atop the Tree of Epoch. A silver-haired girl stood on tiptoe with her hands behind her back. She was none other than Xiao Bai, or better known as Little Wang Yue, in her Human Form. Her face radiated with pure joy and unbridled excitement as she gazed upon the vast Sea of Reincarnation below. “Sister Qingyi is on the verge of success.”

The specks of lights that danced before her eyes were the countless Souls that were going to be reincarnated.

Memories of their past lives would be erased and cleansed by the Sea of Reincarnation before being sent to the depths where they would be reincarnated. These Souls were mostly guided from the Prosperous Dao True World by Qingyi’s special method.

During the Immortal Spirit Civilisation’s invasion of the Prosperous Dao True World, the Souls of many experts who had perished were led away by a mysterious power. These experts were not truly dead. Their souls had been guided here. Aside from them, there were also many heroic Souls who had once fallen during the Great War Against Heaven.

Furthermore, the experts who had not returned yet were still slumbering deep within the Sea of Reincarnation, silently recuperating and regaining their strength. Such was the effort that Qingyi, as the True Spirit of the Prosperous Dao True World, had secretly made throughout countless eras and ages. However, these noble endeavours came at a great cost, leaving Qingyi often in a state of prolonged slumber. Thus, Qingyi drifted in and out of sleep for most of the time.

After Gu Changge’s last visit, she fell back into slumber and had not awakened since.

Although Xiao Bai was lazy by nature, she had not forgotten the tasks Qingyi had entrusted her with and had been guiding these Souls along. Now that the World Principles in the Sea of Reincarnation had fully developed, the cycle of reincarnation could be sustained without external intervention. This also meant that Qingyi no longer needed to deplete her own strength to maintain this process.

[Sister Qingyi should awaken soon…] Xiao Bai thought to herself, her mood lifting at the thought of finally leaving this place once Qingyi awakened. With a joyful smile on her face, she turned around and began skipping her way towards the palace.

However, her smile froze on her face after taking only a few steps. Before her stood a mysterious figure dressed in black, seemingly appearing out of thin air. Xiao Bai immediately assumed a defensive stance as she prepared herself to face a formidable enemy.

“Who are you? And what brings you here?” Xiao Bai stared ahead with heightened vigilance. She could almost feel her hair standing on its end. She had been totally oblivious to the presence of this unknown woman in black until now.

Apart from Gu Changge, no outsider had ever set foot in this place. Furthermore, Gu Changge had only discovered this location through the clues left by Qingyi herself. Xiao Bai could not help but wonder who this enigmatic woman in black was, and how she had managed to find her way here.

“You have Celestial True Blood flowing within you. Unfortunately, it’s very thin…” The woman in black remarked with a flat tone, shaking her head after casting a glance at Xiao Bai. She had an easily forgettable face, and Xiao Bai detected no unique aura from her. She was no different than an unmemorable woman one might encounter on the streets of the Mortal world.
