“What are you trying to do?” Grandmaster Lu blocked Qin Yichen’s path and sternly warned.
“Saving him, of course. What else?” Qin Yichen rolled his eyes. He had completely lost respect for Grandmaster Lu.
In the first place, what true Alchemy Master, focused on the Dao of Alchemy, would come to a place like the Extreme Flame Zone? Grandmaster Lu’s presence here showed he was someone who sought quick success and profit.
“Save him?” Grandmaster Lu sneered as if he had heard the biggest joke. “With that Pill in your hand?”
The Pill in Qin Yichen’s hand indeed did not look all that impressive. Though it was round enough, it lacked any luster, appearing dull and gray as if covered in dust.
A round but lusterless Pill was merely a Level Two Pill. Of course, what they did not know was that this was a special Pill Qin Yichen had specifically developed for the Extreme Flame Zone.
He had named it… the Triple Clearance Pill. It could heal physical injuries while simultaneously purging Burning Poison from the body.
However, the Storm Mercenary Group members were greatly disappointed upon seeing the dull-looking Pill. No matter what, Che Liangzheng’s injuries could not possibly be cured by a mere Level Two Pill.
“How would we know without trying?” Qin Yichen remained calm, maintaining his composed demeanor.
“Try!? How ridiculous! Do you know where you are? Do you know who Deputy Group Leader Che is? You think you can just try whatever you want? If something happens to Deputy Group Leader Che, will you take responsibility?” Grandmaster Lu seized the opportunity to berate Qin Yichen further.
“Then, can you cure him?” Qin Yichen flatly asked.
This simple question made Grandmaster Lu’s face turn red with anger. Indeed, he lacked that ability. If he could cure him, why would he be standing there, talking?
Everyone clearly knew this already.
“Since you can’t save him, why not let me try? Could the situation get any worse?” Indeed, as Qin Yichen said, things could not get worse than they already were. Moreover, Che Liangzheng was clearly at death’s door.
“Let him try!” The woman finally spoke up.
“Lady Che!?” Grandmaster Lu and the Spirit Fire Pavilion Manager looked at her in disbelief. Grandmaster Lu’s face in particular turned a lot darker.
“Step aside.” Qin Yichen said with a slight smile, moving past Grandmaster Lu to administer the Triple Clearance Pill to Che Liangzheng.
At this moment, all eyes were fixed on Che Liangzheng. Would a miracle truly occur? Everyone was skeptical.
*Cough cough…* About two minutes later, Che Liangzheng’s body suddenly trembled. He turned to his side, coughing up chunks of purplish-black blood before collapsing again, his previously flushed face turning pale.
“Deputy Group Leader!?” The Storm Mercenary Group members were startled. Seeing him collapse again, their hearts sank.
“Kid, you dare harm our Deputy Group Leader!?” One of the men was about to attack Qin Yichen.
“Stop… stop…” A weak voice emerged amidst the chaos, reaching the woman’s ears first.
She had been watching her Father intently and was the only one who caught onto his faint voice.
“Father!” She cried out and rushed to the stretcher, her face filled with joy and worry. “Father, how are you? Father, don’t scare me please…”
This development defused the situation as the Storm Mercenary Group members gathered around him again.
Meanwhile, the onlookers showed clear astonishment.
Could that ordinary-looking Pill have actually saved Che Liangzheng’s life? It seemed impossible, yet while Che Liangzheng was weak, he was no longer at death’s door. Though the difference seemed small, it was the difference between life and death.
While the Pill had not completely cured Che Liangzheng, it had temporarily saved his life.
“How is this possible!?” Grandmaster Lu and the Spirit Fire Pavilion Manager stood dumbfounded. Grandmaster Lu was the first person to keenly understand what this meant.
His face alternated between green and white, which was extremely unsightly. This was enormously humiliating for him.
The Storm Mercenary Group members excitedly gathered around their Deputy Group Leader, almost speaking nonsense in their joy.
“You all seem to really want your Deputy Group Leader to die faster, huh? Crowding around him like that.” A displeased voice came from behind them.
They turned to see the disheveled Qin Yichen. The man who had tried to attack him earlier looked embarrassed.
“Little Brother, I truly apologize. I, Lao Xiong, was too impulsive earlier. You can hit me, hit me hard until you feel better… but please, you must save our Deputy Group Leader.” The man awkwardly approached Qin Yichen, his words clumsy but sincere, clearly afraid Qin Yichen might leave.
“Who wants to hit you?” Qin Yichen impatiently snapped back, then addressed the Storm Mercenary Group members, “Step back and let your Deputy Group Leader breathe, or you’ll suffocate him to death.”
He certainly would not mind such small matters. Mercenary Groups had good camaraderie, unlike Millennial Families, which had Brothers always fighting for power and influence among themselves.
Mercenary Group members were loyal to each other. Like Che Liangzheng, who could have escaped but chose to cover his Fellow Brothers’ retreat. If the roles were reversed, these Storm Mercenary Group members would naturally fight to the death for him.
“My Father…” The woman stood up, looking at the still-weak Che Liangzheng with worry.
Qin Yichen silently knelt down, placing his hand on Che Liangzheng’s wrist and closing his eyes to sense his internal condition.
Soon, his brows furrowed. Che Liangzheng’s condition was far worse than he had imagined. His body had been severely corroded by Burning Poison, and his injuries were still life-threatening.
After all, these wounds came from a Flame Demon Commander equivalent to the Martial King. An attack from that being was not something a Fully Accomplished Spirit Realm expert like Che Liangzheng could possibly withstand.
