Against Wang Qi’s mighty punch, Yang Jun chose to meet it with strange footwork.
Wang Qi had a clear view of Yang Jun’s smirk.
[You’re a genius, one that despises me, but now you’re going to pay for your arrogance!]
Wang Qi raised an eyebrow, recognizing Yang Jun’s source of confidence.
“Wow, is that Flamestride Agility by any chance?” Wang Qi recognized the cultivation method that once impressed him so.
Flamestride Agility was neither a battle move set nor a long-range attack art. The move set was a mental art, one that involved moving meditation. Its core consisted of absorbing the heat generated by movement. Furthermore, the mental art was the foundation for all of Searing Heaven Manor’s magical arts, giving access to any of their peak cultivation methods. Talk about limitless.
It was no mere coincidence that a Western Sea frontier guard noticed Yang Jun and took him to Longde’s Immortal Institute. He had yet to absorb earth fire, so he learned this cultivation method to replace it.
Despite the feeble fire this method provided, compared to the earth fire nurtured in the belly of the earth for many years, the spiritual power from movement heat was easier to manipulate.
He followed Flamestride Agility’s steps to bolster his internal temperature, then used it to throw fire at Wang Qi.
Wang Qi didn’t change his attack after seeing through Yang Jun’s tactic; his punch was never stronger.
Yang Jun layered two shields, and slivers of red glowed between the earthly yellow plates, growing in strength.
Wang Qi’s punch collided with the shields.
First came the shockwave. Yang Jun saw Wang Qi had no issue with effective items and knew the shockwave wasn’t enough to defeat Wang Qi, but now he knew it wouldn’t even damage Wang Qi.
Ripples wrapped Wang Qi’s fist. The shockwave was also a ripple, physical but not qualitative.
The second shockwave came when Yang Jun triggered his flames. Fire spewed out of his shields and drowned Wang Qi, but it had no effect.
Celestial Entropy, entropy reduction.
Although entropy reduction did not equate to extreme coldness, it did have a connection to cooling. Wang Qi simply lowered his body temperature to normal levels.
Wang Qi showed no concern for the heat that movement generated. Be it Celestial Hymn Odyssey’s representative part of the Celestial Changes Series or Celestial Entropy, all crushed Flamestride Agility in terms of thermodynamics. Unless Yang Jun’s spiritual power surpassed Wang Qi’s, he had no chance of harming the Celestial Entropy-using Wang Qi, ever.
Wang Qi’s punch didn’t go through the shields.
Seeing his killer move fail, the perturbed Yang Jun began to settle down a little.
Flaming Terra Levitation was a back-hall cultivation method for a reason, excelling in defense. Punching through his shields wasn’t that easy.
Alas, Yang Jun noticed something off.
His shields were out of control.
“What is going on?” He panicked, believing his cultivation deviated. The loss of control resulted in the inability to remove the shields. Just then, a shockwave burst from the shields, knocking their own user unconscious.
Celestial Entropy, entropy amplification.
Entropy didn’t equal the amount of heat in a target object. Physics had a specific term for that concept, enthalpy. Entropy is defined as the degree of disorder in a system.
Entropy amplification turned an ordered system into a disordered one. The opposite was true for entropy reduction. As a result, entropy was the function describing a system’s state. It manifested as warming in thermodynamics or disorder in computational processes. It had different representations depending on the field, such as control theory, probability, number theory, astrophysics, life sciences, etc.
Wang Qi used entropy amplification, but not to the extent of burning Yang Jun; doing so would have resulted in irreversible harm and would have been illegal. As a result, he only increased the disorder within Yang Jun’s shields.
When the disorder was beyond what Yang Jun’s spiritual power could handle, an induced cultivation deviation took place.
Wang Qi stepped back as a Foundation Establishment disciple rushed to wake Yang Jun up.
Yang Jun walked out of the stage with a hung head, following the enforcer. The enforcer nodded and replaced the seal on his body before returning from where he came.
Wang Qi followed them, not to kick Yang Jun when he was down, but because they were headed in the same direction.
Once outside the arena, Wang Qi found his target, Xiang Qi.
“Nicely done.” Xiang Qi patted his shoulder, as roughly as the first time they met. Wang Qi was a newbie no longer and could handle her violent tendencies.
He laughed, “Of course! You’re looking at a genius!”
Xiang Qi sized him up and smiled. “Goes to show how good Arbiter of Arithmetic’s guidance is. The two matches proved that no one here can beat you. Be careful not to meet an opponent with a cultivation method that cancels yours.”
Modern cultivation’s understanding of Dao far exceeded ancient cultivation’s. The difference between their magical arts was akin to a cannonball and a laser-guided missile. When magical arts of such magnitude were involved, the impact on the outcome was equally significant. In layman’s terms, fighting with a modern cultivator that could restrain your cultivation method was equivalent to your Lu Renjia Quantization value varying between 30-80%.
Wang Qi’s weighted value was roughly 7. This indicated that he was capable of defeating an unarmed and of average mastery of martial arts and magical arts ‘blank slate’ Foundation Establishment cultivator. But if the opponent could suppress his cultivation method, his weighted value would drop to 5.
Naturally, the idea of a blank slate and a suppressing cultivators’ existence was purely hypothetical.
As a result, Wang Qi’s next fight went smoothly, as did the one after that and the second one.
Wang Qi felt nothing but regret. He yawned and said to Wu Fan, who had a swollen nose, “Man, it’s so boring crushing fights.”
Wu Fan’s record was two wins and two losses. “Ha-ha.”
