In the hidden cave, Lu Ye refined medicine to restore his energy while trying to identify his location.
Soon, he furrowed his brows, for there was something off about his current location.
He was saved by the woman near the River of Exuberance, after which they ran away at the speed of lightning and arrived at a hidden cave. Then, they came to this place by using the Teleportation Ward.
He clearly remembered his previous location. What he felt off was the distance, for his previous location was around 1,500 kilometres away from this place.
Even excluding the distance he and the mysterious woman had moved across, there would still be around 1,000 kilometres.
In other words, the Teleportation Ward was about 1,000 kilometres away from this place. That was why Lu Ye was astounded.
He could also build Teleportation Wards. Initially, the teleportation distance was limited. However, as his Way of Wards and cultivation improved, he was able to build wards with a longer teleportation distance.
Now, he was a Fifth-Order Cloud River Realm Master, and the wards he built had a teleportation distance of around 300 kilometres.
He had estimated that even if he became a Ninth-Order Master one day, the wards he built would only have a teleportation distance of 600 kilometres. The Teleportation Wards could not be connected if they were further apart than that.
However, the ward the mysterious organisation had left behind on the Cloud River Battlefield had a teleportation distance of 1,000 kilometres.
This showed that the person who had built the Teleportation Ward must be more skilful than Lu Ye when it came to the Way of Wards.
After giving it some thought, Lu Ye realised it was not that surprising.
The average Cloud River Realm Master certainly could not do that. However, since the organisation could let the woman, who was above the Cloud River Realm, enter the Cloud River Battlefield, they could let other people do the same. For example, a Ward Cultivator in the Real Lake Realm or even the Divine Ocean Realm.
If such a powerful Ward Cultivator could come to this place and build the ward, it was not surprising that the ward had a teleportation distance of over 1,000 kilometres.
The organisation must have left behind these hidden places on the Cloud River Battlefield in case of emergencies. Although Lu Ye had only come into contact with two of these places, there must be more of such hidden bases.
In that case, the scale of the mysterious organisation was probably larger than he had thought.
He was not eager to find out the organisation’s intentions, but he was interested in the Teleportation Ward they had built.
For the time being, he did not have to worry about his safety.
Those from Thousand Demon Ridge must have realised that he had run away by using a Teleportation Ward, but to their knowledge, such a ward only had a teleportation distance of 300 to 400 kilometres. Therefore, they would only search for him within a radius of 300 to 400 kilometres with the place where he had disappeared as the centre.
None of them had expected him to be over 1,000 kilometres away. There was no doubt this was good news to Lu Ye.
A moment later, he returned to where he had appeared earlier and found the Teleportation Ward. Then, he infused his Spiritual Power into the ward to examine it.
Regardless of who built the ward, it was left behind for the people in the same organisation to use in case of emergencies. As such, there would not be a lot of restrictions to activate the ward.
Simply put, anyone could infuse their Spiritual Power into the ward and activate it, which made it easier for Lu Ye to study the ward.
After some examination, he soon learned that the ward was slightly different from the kind of Teleportation Ward he could build. Even the Void Glyph, which served as the core, was different from what he had learned from the books.
Apart from Void, he had learned many Glyphs from the books. For example, Sharp Edge and Protection were included in Lady Yun’s collection of books.
However, they were different from the ones found on the Tree of Glyphs.
Glyphs were not immutable. The changes in the elements of Yin and Yang would affect a Glyph’s overall performance.
Therefore, the same Glyph could be built in different ways, which would result in varying performances.
Nevertheless, Lu Ye had done some research. Regardless of what he had learned in the books, the ones on the Tree of Glyphs could always exhibit the best powers, and they were the most convenient to build.
Every Glyph on the Tree of Glyphs was the best version. They were constructed in the most reasonable manner that could perform the best.
Moreover, it wouldn’t take Lu Ye much effort to activate them. The Glyphs would be successfully built as soon as a thought flashed across his mind. He could use them at any moment.
The Teleportation Ward before Lu Ye’s eyes offered a valuable lesson, especially the way it was built.
There was no doubt the other party was more adept at building Glyphs than Lu Ye. It was a rare chance to directly study a ward, and one could always learn a lot from it.
While Lu Ye was engrossed in studying the Teleportation Ward, the cultivators from Thousand Demon Ridge had searched everywhere within a radius of several hundred kilometres. However, Lu Ye was still nowhere to be found, which made them feel exasperated and helpless.
Many people had left, but a lot of them were unresigned as they kept on looking for Lu Ye.
In the meantime, they had spread the news. It could be said that all the cultivators from Thousand Demon Ridge on the entire Cloud River Battlefield were keeping an eye on Lu Ye’s whereabouts.
As long as Lu Ye had the guts to appear, it wouldn’t be useful even if he wore a mask.
However, under such a circumstance, Lu Ye was still nowhere to be seen. It was as though he had left the Cloud River Battlefield.
Three days later, Lu Ye, who had been hiding in the cave, let out a breath as he fell deep in thought.
After such a long time, he had mostly recovered. He had even replenished the Spiritual Power in the Spirit Storage Ring. During this period, he had been studying the Teleportation Ward, and he had learned a lot.
If he had to build a Teleportation Ward right away, the teleportation distance would be increased by dozens of kilometres.
One should not underestimate such a short distance, though it did not matter to a Cloud River Realm Master. If he fully activated his power, he could move across dozens of kilometres in several minutes. However, a breakthrough in the teleportation distance showed that Lu Ye’s mastery of the Way of Wards had improved.
Now, he was only a Fifth-Order Cloud River Realm Master, and his cultivation would increase as time passed. If his trip to Hundred Wards Tower would be fruitful, his mastery of the Way of Wards would improve significantly, which would increase the teleportation distance.
The only imperfect thing was the experience. The experiences of using a Teleportation Ward and a Divine Opportunity Column were different.
The latter was smooth and quiet. Before the cultivators even realised it, the teleportation had concluded. They would not feel any discomfort.
Nevertheless, the experience of using a Teleportation Ward was not so pleasant.
When Lu Ye started building Teleportation Wards in the beginning, he would feel like plunging into an abyss every time he activated the ward. After the teleportation, he would feel dizzy.
He initially thought that it was because he had not mastered the Way of Wards. However, after using Teleportation Wards built by other people, he discovered that the mastery of the Way of Wards had nothing to do with it. That was the normal experience of using Teleportation Wards.
Moreover, the longer the teleportation distance, the more terrible it felt. That gave Lu Ye some confidence at the very least.
Since his Spiritual Power had been restored, and he had studied everything about the Teleportation Ward, it was time to set off on his journey.
He woke the snoring Amber up and moved along the passageway to leave the place.
He had been staying there for three days. During this period, Yi Yi found the exit, which was not so hidden.
Soon, they arrived at a rock face. There was no path ahead since it was sealed.
Nevertheless, it was merely the appearance. The rock face was a barrier someone had set up. Lu Ye pushed out his fist and destroyed the rock face. As the dazzling Sunlight shone on him, he squinted his eyes.
After getting used to the bright light, he fished out his Spirit Boat and stepped on it. Then, he shot into the sky.
This time, he did not put Amber into the Spirit Beast Bag, for the tiger had never loved staying inside. According to Yi Yi, the inside of the bag was pitch black, and there was no sound. It was as though they were inside a sealed space.
Therefore, Lu Ye usually would not keep Amber inside the bag. He would only do so when he had to be stealthy.
Now, most cultivators from Thousand Demon Ridge remembered what his figure looked like. It would be pointless for him to put on a mask. As such, he decided not to use any useless disguise.
Hundred Wards Tower was far away from his current location. However, there would not be a problem as long as he was cautious.
Most of the time, he only moved towards his destination at night and got some rest during the day. He also made sure his Spirit Boat would only stay about 100 metres above the ground, which made it easier for him to land on the ground and hide somewhere to prevent anyone from discovering him.
Certainly, there was a shortcoming as well. Given the height, it would be hard for him to dodge if there was an ambush on the ground.
All the same, there had to be some trade-offs. He could choose to fly 600 metres above the ground, but it would be hard for him to hide somewhere if he came across anyone.
Several days passed without any trouble as he did not bump into any enemies.
That was because he had been trying to avoid any cultivators. He did not even come across any cultivators from the Grand Sky Coalition, let alone those from Thousand Demon Ridge.
Suddenly, he received a message on his Battlefield Imprint. He took a look and realised it was from Li Baxian.
After Lu Ye left Ameliorate, Li Baxian would send him messages from time to time to ask how he had been doing. Lu Ye would usually tell him that he was fine.
Although they did not stay in the same place, they were still as close as ever.
After a brief conversation, he learned that everything had been the same in Ameliorate Valley. Even though some cultivators from Thousand Demon Ridge would show up from time to time, they did not dare to harass them.
First of all, Ameliorate Valley was now protected by a pack of wolves, and Lu Ye had left behind tons of wards, so it would be useless for their enemies to go there. If they launched an attack on the Arcane Glade, there was a Divine Opportunity Column that Lu Ye had left behind. As such, Li Baxian and the others could return to Jiu Zhou at any moment.
Secondly, before Lu Ye left Ameliorate Valley, he had sworn that if anyone had the guts to damage his Arcane Glade, he would barge into the Spirit Creek Battlefield and destroy their bases.
Regardless of how displeased those from Thousand Demon Ridge were, they would not dare to attack Ameliorate Arcane Glade before Lu Ye’s death. Otherwise, they would be inviting trouble to their Sects.
Lu Ye was known as the Annihilator of Sects after the horrifying incidents, so they were naturally afraid of him.
