The aftermath of the war shrouded an area of nearly three hundred thousand kilometres. It had turned the sky upside down, shifted the position of the sun and the moon. Many divine islands the True Dragon Clan had and the mountain ranges within their territory were crushed into dust by the terrifying aura emitting from the war. Even their eternal Ancient Grand Array had been shattered. Even the endless viscous murderous intent was now gone, erased by those in the Saint King Realm.
The other battle had also concluded. There were fragments of stars scattered all over the place. It was not different from a gravesite made for stars.
Thousands of star fragments scattered in all directions, turning the land into a burial ground of stars. The sky that covered the earth had seemed to have collapsed and formed this scene.
*Buzz!!*
There was a golden beam of light which stemmed from the ground up high into the sky. From it, the Great Elder had appeared. His spotless white robe was fluttering in the wind, as he stood divine and sage like. One could not even see traces of a fight on him.
Behind him was someone in the Sacred King Realm from the True Dragon Clan, who could not move as the Great Elder’s manifestation of a gigantic palm was pressing down on him!
“Done?” The Great Elder asked as his expression remained completely calm. Though, it was still clear he did not want to do this from the start. Even during that entire war, he only moved to suppress the strongest within the True Dragon Clan. He did not participate in any of the following battles.
In regards to Gu Changge’s sudden revelation as the Successor of the Ancient Reincarnation Supreme Being, it had also greatly astonished the Great Elder. Before that, he had originally thought that Gu Changge would borrow the might of the Immortal Gu Family to suppress the True Dragon Clan. He never expected that Gu Changge’s true hidden trump card was his status as the Successor.
Now that he knew about this, the Great Elder couldn’t help but take a second deeper look at Gu Changge.
[It seems like it is even more difficult to grasp what he is thinking. Just how many cards does he have up his sleeve? Just how many still remain a secret? It could be said that it is fortunate that Gu Xianer’s grudge against him has been resolved. I can’t imagine what would have happened if she went after him alone. Would she be alive today? It is also fortunate that those old things support her. Otherwise, Gu Changge would most likely have eaten her up, bones and all by now…] The Great Elder thought.
“It’s now over. Great Elder, this war must have been very troublesome for you.” Gu Changge said with a smile.
“It’s not trouble at all. Just make sure to keep your words.” The Great Elder coldly snorted back. With a wave of his hand, the Sacred King Realm True Dragon Clan expert got pulled and appeared right in front of Gu Changge.
“Not to worry, Great Elder. I won’t forget my promise…” Gu Changge said as he looked at the sullen Sacred King Realm True Dragon Clansman with a completely calm expression.
He soon looked over the horizon, somewhere distant. His eyes swiftly swept across the many experts before he showed a slight smile and spoke. “As the Successor of Skyward Schloss, I, Gu Changge, have the obligation to clean up and resolve the chaos in the True Dragon Clan.”
The numerous natives and outsiders watching from a distance were immediately stunned. They did not understand what he was saying.
“Erm?”
“Gu Changge, you… you really are utterly ruthless and shameless!” Even the Great Elder was confused for a moment. He did not understand why Gu Changge would say such a thing in front of the many different factions from the outside world. That was, until it sunk in. Once he realised what Gu Changge was planning, his brows jumped as rage filled his heart.
Skyward Schloss had always been neutral. It never interferes with the power struggles between factions. Even when Gu Changge was their Successor, they had not provided him any aid during this war. However, what Gu Changge had said implied that they had helped him. What’s more, they were the ones who pushed him to do this.
Instead of stating the personal agreement he made with the Great Elder that day, he said this. It was now obvious to the Great Elder what he was planning. He only took a moment before he understood everything and became livid.
[He not only muddied the waters of the Celestial Ancient Continent, but he also intends on dragging Skyward Schloss with him into that pool of dirty water! Now, many of the forces in Boundless Heaven would feel that the unification of the Celestial Ancient Races had been manipulated by Skywards Schloss from behind the scenes! He plans on directing their eyes onto Skyward Schloss, making us his scapegoat while he obtains all the benefits!] The Great Elder complexion was hideous, filled with rage. However, he could not refute him. After all, only a few people knew about their agreement that day.
“I will always keep in mind the Great Elder’s kindness.” Gu Changge’s face then turned completely calm. “But, Great Elder, it seems like you still owe me a favour. So don’t forget about it.”
Although Gu Changge did not know the Great Elder’s true cultivation level, he knew it at least surpassed the Sacred King Realm. In fact, the Great Elder might even surpass Gu Nanshan. Thus, how could he not firmly grasp onto this precious favour?
Perhaps, he would need it one day. As for using Skyward Schloss bear the incoming storm for him, Gu Changge thinks nothing of it. Thus, he easily did what he did.
[The others in the outside world would have felt as though I was the one forcing the Great Elder into moving for my own goal. It is true but that would be detrimental to me. Better to make it such that Skyward Schloss is the one who took the initiative to create this scheme. I have no need to be even more famous than I am now. It’s clear that I overshadow the others and that has made me the centre of too much attention. It has even made it harder for me to move behind the shadows…] Gu Changge thought, as he knew that he enjoys making a fortune in secret, taking all the benefits for himself and creating scapegoats.
Even Skyward Schloss was no different. It was just a tool for him to use. However, whether this would be effective was another matter.
“Great Elder, if you think this Changge had done something wrong along the way… do tell me and explain. I believe that there is still many who believe…” Gu Changge continued to smile. He had already predicted what the Great Elder would do based on his personality. That the latter would not say anything. Thus, his goal had been accomplished.
For him, angering the Great Elder meant nothing. It was better for him to spend his mental space thinking how to unify the Celestial Ancient Races.
“Humph!” The Great Elder interrupted him. His face was completely gloomy. Space blurred and he entered the void, disappearing into the distance. The Great Elder had decided that from henceforth, all of Skyward Schloss’ affairs would be thrown to the current Palace Master.
Gu Changge was just too shameless for him. No matter what he tries, he would not be able to control him. So, why bother? Better to just go into seclusion and cleanse himself for a while. Otherwise, he would one day no longer be able to resist the urge and really kill that shameless guy. Since there were no benefits to him sticking around, it was better to leave now.
“Go and clean up the True Dragon clan. Kill all those who do not obey! Starting today, I want to hear one a single sound of agreement from them.” Gu Changge’s smile had vanished as he lightly ordered.
“Yes, Master!” Behind him, was a tsunami of voices. It was made up of the large and powerful three major clans. They began to deal with those in the True Dragon Clan that had not yet submitted. Rooting out any dissent, making sure that no hidden dangers would emerge after this culling.
Naturally, if there were those that refuse to submit, from either side, they would just be killed. After all, the work had plenty of disobedient people already.
“Young Master! We have completed your order. Those in the True Dragon Clan that had not yet submitted have all been eliminated.”
*Buzz!!*
As those words were said, a majestic and overwhelming might engulfed the place. It was the Sacred King Ancestors from the Ancient Flying Serpent Clan, Black Hawk Family, and Divine Crocodile Clans. They had eliminated all resisting experts in the True Dragon Clan, and had come to report back to Gu Changge.
“Good. Job well done.” Gu Changge swept through the many scenes below and showed a smile of stratification. He then waves his hand to make them retreat.
The appearance of the three major clans had definitely caused the various factions to be on alert. Thus, Gu Changge was considering hiding them in the shadows.
[Anyways, I am finally done resolving the True Dragon Clan. Now, it is time to think about this transmigrator. Does Yue Mingkong know about her existence? That would be unlikely. After all, transmigrators are huge anomalies, I’m an example. It seems that in Yue Mingkong’s previous timeline, the existence of transmigrators is still unknown. Otherwise, she would have found me out by now.]
[Since she took the initiative to appear in front of me, even if I have to flip every stone, I will find her. Though, I still need to watch out for her cheat. Must be a pretty bullshit cheat. Unless, she is the extremely unfortunate kind of transmigrator. I wonder if she had come into this world before me or after me?] Gu Changge pondered.
The next thing on the agenda was handling the unification of various clans in the Celestial Ancient Continent. With this mighty force, it could provide him with plenty of cultivation resources. After all, the True Dragon Clan alone had plenty of useful things for him to plunder!
It might even be possible for him to obtain some Source and drops of True Dragon Blood from the original True Dragon, which would give him a great deal of benefits.
Since his true cultivation level, the one he uses Nommening to increase, had reached peak Quasi-Sacred Realm, he only needed a bit of a good Source to breakthrough to the Sacred Realm.
Once he advanced into the Sacred Realm, he would be able to condense more Grand Flasks, which would help him in devouring and refine the remaining Celestial Spirits he had, which might even allow him to breakthrough again.
…
Meanwhile, up in the sky, there were experts from the various factions that had gathered to watch what was happening in Dragon Island.
“If I had not seen it for myself, I would have never believed it. This is really something someone from the young generation can accomplish?”
“It’s the golden age now. The stars are shining, showing us how bright the future will be but in terms of power, on one in the younger generation be a match for Gu Changge.”
“From another perspective, Gu Changge is even more horrifying than the Successor of Demonic Arts… The way he schemes and the methods he employs, every one of them make my blood run cold. He is opening showing how he is going to subdue and unite the Celestial Ancient Races!”
Many of them were whispering endlessly, as the shock in their eyes could not fade away.
“I heard that the Successor of Demonic Arts got defeated when faced against Gu Changge. That the Successor fled afterwards. Even till now, it seem that there are no real concrete trace of him. Even when he kills young prodigies, he would do so in an extremely convert manner. Isn’t he afraid? The heavy injuries that Gu Channge had inflicted on him must had not recovered yet. Meanwhile, just look at Gu Changge. He is able to use the Ancient Wheel of Reincarnation in such a relaxed manner without any difficulty. It’s clear that his surface cultivation level is a far cry from his true unfathomable cultivation level.”
…
On top of an ancient warship that seemed to be alive with boundless majesty, there were numerous Immortal Wang Family experts discussing. Be it young or old, they all had expressions of admiration and shock. Although they did not take part in that war, they had been observers from start to finish.
However, that excitement quickly cooled down. This included the excitement they got from Wang Zijin returning from the Mortal Palace. They had realised something after such an unbelievable spectacle. Wang Zijin wasn’t the only person within the younger generation who was dazzling beyond words!
It had to be said that she was so Talented that she might be the best in history. She even trained in the Mortal Palace, so her cultivation level had increased at an unbelievable pace. She could breakthrough a minor realm each half a month and a major realm each half a year! She made it seem like cultivating was as simple as drinking water and eating. However, since she was still young, she had not inherited the Family behind her.
Meanwhile, Gu Changge was already in charge of everything. The power and influence in his one hand already makes them tremble. Now, he had the three major clans of the Celestial Ancient Continent at his beck and call, allowing him to dominate and sweep through all that opposed him. Furthermore, he had three Sacred King Realm Ancestors with him! It was a force which would make anyone tremble!
Those in the Scared King Realm could just swipe their palm and cause countless stars to explode. They could break continents apart by just showing their aura. They were peerless even within the various Cults of Immortality. After all, with no one in the Sacred Emperor Realm, those in the Sacred King Realm were all absolute.
If the Immortal Wang Family were to compare their power and influence to Gu Channge, they would have to be the ones who act polite. This was something they would have never dared to imagine.
“What he does seem simple but it is accomplished by meticulous planning from multiple angles, all coming together at once. Even for me, I can only see hints of how he did it. I’m afraid that if I were to try and seriously investigate, I would find that he had been planning this since the Celestial Ancient Continent first opened…”
“Such a long-term forward thinking plan has this old man truly in admiration! I fear that there are truly not many that can compare to him within the young generation…”
On the ancient warship, after hearing Wang Wushuang praise Gu Channge, the old monster could not bear to also praise and sighed.
It was obvious that the Gu Changge’s position in upholding justice had played a large part in his war to subdue the True Dragon Clan. Even when it was obvious his true goal was to subdue all the Celestial Ancient Races, and ‘justice’ was just some convenient tool to achieve it, so what? The other factions had no reason to intervene in this matter. Worse, since they had no reason, would the Immortal Gu Family backing Gu Changge sit back and just watch the other faction unjustly take their Successor down a peg? Absolutely not.
Thus, the scene from earlier played out. Gu Changge ate the largest most delicious steak in front of all the other factions with them being too helpless to do anything about. They could only feel depressed in their hearts and grasp in admiration.
He had displayed not just his cultivation prowess but his ability as the Young Master of an Immortal Family. If any Immortal Family had such a Young Master, did they have to worry about their future?
However, there was an issue. Now that Gu Changge had shown his sharp fangs, and was in control of the Celestial Ancient Races, including their Sacred King Ancestors, the various factions would start fearing him. They would pay attention to him and might even join arms against him in the future. As such, there were gains and losses, which could not be avoided.
It was mere training for the young generation but it had evolved into something more dire. The submission and annihilation of clans. Who was not afraid of the person who could cause all this?
“Young Master, I’m afraid you’ll have to learn from Gu Changge in the future.” The old monster smiled and said. To him, there should be no need to hold someone on a pedestal, while at the same time, never overly belittle others. He said this to spur his Young Master to be better. After all, both Wang Wushuang and Gu Changge were Successors of their respective families, and could be compared with one another.
Naturally, it was impossible for any Young Master to destroy their respective Immortal Families no matter how awful they were. The heritage of such families was too vast and deep. Though, there should be no reason they should accept mediocrity. So, the old monster felt that he did nothing wrong when he belittled his Young Master.
“Gu Changge is indeed very strong and brave. The means he can employ is also vast. I know I am far inferior to him. This, I will admit but Elder, you must not forget. In the face of absolute power, schemes and trickery are useless. If Gu Changge is not the Successor of the Ancient Reincarnation Supreme Being, it would have been impossible for the three major clans to submit to him…” Wang Wushuang shook his head. He does admire Gu Changge. However, he believed this situation was just one which Gu Channge had found himself to be at an advantage, and had relied on his connections to accomplish. To him, if those three major clans were not there, this would not have ended so easily.
Meanwhile, after hearing what he had said, Wang Zijin, who had been staring at a figure out in the distance, shook her head without saying a word.
“Young Master, since you were the one who brought it up, might I ask, what is this ‘absolute power’ you speak of?” The old monster was more than happy to use this opportunity to educate his Young Master. He even showed a smile. [The young should have the heart to fight against their peers, and must not accept defeat]
Ever since he was born, Wang Wushuang has always been arrogant. He had only recently learnt that he has an older sister, who was born in the Sacred Realm. He recognised that his cultivation was inferior and had nothing to say about that. However, Gu Changge was younger than him. Yet, he was unable to see through Gu Changge’s true cultivation level! He could only feel that it was unfathomably deep. Even so, he was no willing to accept this.
Now that the Elder was belittling him, and in front of his sister, Wang Wushuang could no longer bear it anymore.
“Absolute power of course refers to a person’s true cultivation level. No matter how strong Gu Changge is, it is impossible for him to surpass my sister, right?” Wang Wushuang spoke with his glowing golden pupils shaking.
If this was any other day, he would absolutely not say something like this. However, after seeing his sister today, he was frustrated. Aggravated that he would always be inferior to her.
Normally, young prodigies would never be able to accept such a situation. However, due to how ambitious he was, prioritising his ambitions over other things, he was not too deeply affected.
“Wushuang. The world is vast. There will always be someone better than you. You have to keep these words in mind. Even I had someone say it to me before.” Wang Zijin, who had not spoken, opened her mouth and let the world hear her melodious voice. With a smile on her face, she said to her little brother. She was a little pleased that her little brother did not seem like one of those typical arrogant young prodigies.
Naturally, her statement was also for herself. She used to think that she was almighty until she saw Gu Changge, who seemed unfathomable to her. In terms of methods and abilities, she was not his match. She might only be able to beat him in two areas, which were Talent and cultivation level.
This made Wang Zijin even more curious and interested in Gu Changge.
Since she was a transmigrator, she was familiar with the various cliches. Likewise, she was born in a mighty family and possessed terrifying Talent. Thus, she stood above all other cultivators. Naturally, the days that followed were very boring.
One of the reasons why Wang Zijin wanted to travel around the world was to find interesting things. It just so happened that the first thing she found was Gu Changge. A young prodigy born in this world that went against her expectations as cannon fodder. Furthermore, his amazing ability to come up with schemes, which even surprised her.
Wang Zijin continued. “Gu Changge’s true cultivation level is not that simple. Even I can’t see through it and tell which realm he is in.”
“Even you can’t see through his cultivation level?” Wang Wushuang and the other young prodigies from the Wang Family were all shocked. They could not help but gawk. After all, the Elder had said Wang Zijin was in the Quasi-Sacred realm yet she could not see through Gu Changge’s cultivation?
Wang Zijin gave a nod. For her, this was something easy to admit.
“Think about it. To easily use an imitation of a Dao Artifact, his cultivation level must long surpass others. Do you think you would be able to use that Dao Artifact imitation if you had it just like Gu Changge?”
“If we put that aside, let’s talk about what you said about him being the Successor of the Ancient Reincarnation Supreme Being. If you were in his place, do you think you can make the three major clans submit? So long as those three clans are not fools, there is no way they would so easily submit to a youth. That means, Gu Changge made them submit using his own means.” Wang Zijin shared what she had analysed and understood. It was completely different from what others believe.
Once she was done speaking, everyone on the ancient warship immediately went silent. Some took a deep breath, too shocked for words. It took some time before the silence was broken.
“As expected of Young Mistress, you were able to see through it so easily…” The old monster gave a nod and smiled. He also understood the truth of the matter only because of how ancient and experienced he was. Since Wang Zijin managed to deduce this much, it meant that she was much smarter than the rest.
“So, that’s how it is.” Wang Wushuang muttered. He also became speechless for a while. After pondering over what Wang Zijin had just said, he finally understood the difference between him and Gu Changge. He never could have accomplished what Gu Changge did, and that caused him to feel extremely dejected. Unwillingness even arose in his heart.
“What a pity. Gu Changge is already engaged. Otherwise, I think he and Young Mistress are a good match. Though, I guess engagements can be annulled…” The old monster suddenly sighed and felt moved. [If those choose to marry, it will definitely be an overwhelming victory over the other factions.]
Once Wang Zijin heard his words, she was slightly startled. Her expression suddenly turned a little strange. [Why did he suddenly say that? Is this it? Could it be? The fiancée cliché that I have been waiting for? Hmm… Gu Changge will break off the engagement with the original heroine and then marry me instead. And judging from his personality, he definitely isn’t a decent person. So, this is… absolutely possible…]
“Elder, does Gu Changge have some kind of trash fiancée or something…” After thinking for a while, Wang Zijin considered her words and asked tentatively. After all, what the Elder just said was akin to one of those flags in those melodramatic cliches.
“Well…” The old monster obviously did not expect Wang Zijin to ask such a thing and gawked at her.
Meanwhile, Xiu Er, who was next to her, replied “Young Mistress, Young Master Changge’s fiancée is none other than the famous future emperor of the Unrivaled Celestial Dynasty, Yue Mingkong. She is a peerless beauty who already has the disposition of an emperor so how could she be described as trash?”
Wang Zijin was suddenly a little disappointed.
[If I can have Gu Changge as my fiancée, I would be fine. I won’t get those goosebumps when I think about us being together. As someone who appreciates beauty, there’s nothing wrong with going for what I like. After all, no matter what world it is, the most important thing is how good looking the person is. I’ve never thought that I would meet a young prodigy that would interest me. I thought I would just continue my life as always, overpowering all without breaking a sweat.]
[Those male protagonists in those male-orientated novels are always ordinary looking or baby faced. They aren’t really my cup of tea. And, this world is clearly not the kind written in female-oriented novels. It’s obviously the type of world in male-orientated novels. It’s normal in those kinds of novels for the male protagonist to start off as weak and become strong overtime. It’s all just to create that sense of accomplishment. But Gu Changge is obviously different. Even though I have not directly made contact with him, I can feel it. And, my gut feeling is never wrong. It might even be my cheat in this new world. ‘Do not be afraid of an evil villain, be wary of a handsome one’, huh?] Wang Zijin suddenly recalled a phrase from her previous life.
“Young Mistress, since we are already here, how about we pay Young Master Changge a visit?” Noticing that Wang Zijin was a little disappointed, the old monster stepped up to ask.
Wang Zijin was stunned when she heard what he had said. Her expression did not change but she was obviously smiling in her heart as she replied, “If that is what Elder wishes.”
“Young Mistress, didn’t you say you won’t be interested before…” Xiu Er couldn’t help but mutter.
It naturally resulted in Wang Zijin hitting her head. “You talk too much.”
…
At the same time, within Dragon Island, deep underground, Gu Changge was exploring the magnificent secret treasury of the True Dragon Clan when he suddenly heard the System prompt him.
<Ding! The Fortuitous Lady is interested in the host. You have gained 1000 Fatums and 5000 Fortuity.>
[Huh?] Gu Changge’s eyes suddenly narrowed. [This works as well? Are my villainous charms that irresistible?]
