Gu Changge was leisurely sipping the tea in his cup. He donned a shirt whiter than snow, unsoiled by dust. There seemed to be a layer of mist shielding his striking face that was utterly calm. However, when observed closely, his face was so calm as if he cared about nothing at all, just like an omnipresent, higher being none could comprehend. As if he hadn’t the slightest interest in everything that had taken place in the palace up until now, he didn’t get himself involved.

At least, that was what the crowd assumed. Every single soul, regardless of their position, could easily figure out the man in white was by no means ordinary. Be it his aura or gestures, everything about him was overflowing with wondrousness. He was truly out of this world.

But of course, none had any clue that Gu Changge’s indifferent eyes were simply a reflection of his bafflement. It wasn’t that he wasn’t engrossed by what was happening in the palace, but his doze-off was caused by the fusion of his memory.

In fact, he was a traveler. Just a second ago, he was snoozing, but when he later opened his eyes, he found himself waking up in this hazardous fantasy of a world, where the strong picked their noses with a fragment of the moon and caused a typhoon with a mere sigh, while the weak were disrespectfully stepped on like weeds in a field. And Gu Changge, on the other hand, was a Direct Disciple from the Cult of Immortality sent forth to undergo his training. Unquestionably, his talents were limitless and his background was even more terrifying.

However, thanks to his experience in reading e-novels on the web, he could recognize that he was the antagonist of the story, or rather, a character that wouldn’t survive past the first few chapters. Needless to say, he was rather butthurt upon the realization. He took a good look at his surroundings, only to find out that he had traveled right into the moment where the Fortuitous One was about to punch him in the guts.

A name like ‘Ye Chen’ undoubtedly belonged to a main character, unlike the bland ‘Gu Changge’, which obviously sounded like a name a writer would use as the plot’s punching bag. Indeed, a punching bag so entitled that the protagonist would definitely be glad to punch.

“Gu Changge, Gu Changge!” Meanwhile, Ye Chen had yelled his name a number of times, but he didn’t seem to show any response, not even bothering to look at him. The longer Gu Changge’s condescension and insouciance persisted, the angrier Ye Chen grew. Exasperated, Ye Chen clenched his fists so tightly that his fingers cracked.

“Sacrilegious! How dare you speak the name of the prince himself?!” At that moment, a blaring voice, filled with scorn and iciness, thundered the palace, intimidating its listeners. The speaker was none other than the newly canonized Saint of Supreme Stygian Holy Land, Chu Xuan. With an expression as cold as ice, he personally walked over as runes gleamed dazzlingly between his palms, intending to teach Ye Chen a ferocious lesson. Now was his time to shine.

If it weren’t for Gu Changge’s praises, he wouldn’t have stood out among his fellow disciples and be promoted to Supreme Stygian Holy Land’s Saint. Thus, he was deeply gratuitous toward Gu Changge. After all, he wasn’t like Su Qingge, who had the Archbishop as her father and was thus crowned as a Saintess the moment she was born.

“Ye Chen, you’ve been audacious, constantly to challenge the Sect right in front of our guests, and that is truly unforgivable! Men, throw him into prison to await judgment.”

Consequently, one of the elders stood up and yelled as the opportunity to please Gu Changge was not to be missed. “That’s right! Archbishop, perhaps you should take the chance to strip him of his powers and expel him from the Sect! That’s only doing right by Prince Gu!” Seeing that, the other elders followingly stood up and expressed their sense of right, reprimanding Ye Chen for his discourteousness and violation. With that, the influential guests were left stunned and curious about the identity of the mysterious man in white.

In the meantime, Ye Chen’s face blanched as he sensed the situation had developed against him. Everyone was gratifying Gu Changge, and even Su Qingge wouldn’t say a word. [How could this be? This is not what I anticipated at all!]

Out of nowhere, a chilly sensation surged between his fingers, purifying his perturbed mind before he would finally calm down.

On the other hand, Gu Changge, remaining seated, took a sip of his tea as he grew enticed. [Woah, I haven’t even spoken yet, and the Fortuitous One has already turned this way? Isn’t that underselling his identity as the Fortuitous One?]

With that, Gu Changge shot a glare upon the ring on Ye Chen’s finger. [Tsk, tsk… this Grandpa like plot from years ago actually still works, huh? Look at the Fortuitous One. He’s barely moving! Guess he’s not going to get out of this.]

“Gu Changge, what are you good at apart from oppressing the weak?!” Ye Chen once again taunted as he glared vexedly at Gu Changge as if he was the source of all his pain.

[If it weren’t for Gu Changge, why would the Archbishop ever send Su Qingge away?] Bearing that in mind, Ye Chen could feel his irritation thumping at the walls of his heart. He couldn’t be any happier to pulverize Gu Changge into ashes.

Nevertheless, none could fathom what might happen in one night. Although Ye Chen had gone through hardships with Su Qingge, he had always kept a distance from her. He never even touched a strand of her hair.

Unaffected, Gu Changge retained his straight face, feigning not a trace of emotion on it as he concealed his fascination in his heart. [Why do I care? In the host’s memory, an insignificant bug like Ye Chen doesn’t even exist! Well, as for the handover of the Archbishop’s daughter, I didn’t ask for it. After all, yielding to the strong is only natural in this fantasy world, let alone feeding on the weak. It’s not my fault that I have a scary background. And hell, this Ye Chen guy can’t do a thing for hell’s sake, but he’s certainly good at using his mouth.]

  1. I like the novel so far but it would really be nice to get a chapter 0 or something. There’s no back story so far other than him just waking up in a random body which they don’t talk about either.
