Under the moonlit sky, the Immortal Gu Family prepared a resting spot for the guests of the birthday banquet in a dazzling, spectacular palace.

Within, Wang Ziji, having changed into her feminine garments, was sitting with her legs crossed. Her clothes were as white as the clouds and her hair swayed atop her flawless face that was calm and snowy, much like a exotic, alluring gem. In that instant, she was absorbing subtle traces of world energy in a weirdly ordered manner.

*Whoosh!* An ambiguous heavenly door was flickering behind her, as though it was some sort of gateway to a mysterious, fantastical world that inhabited towering mystical trees, fragrant herbs, and roaring creatures.

It was one of her Talents, which she was born with. Whenever she was cultivating, the heavenly door would emit celestial energy that augmented the result of her cultivation, allowing her to rapidly surpass her pears. Furthermore, she also possessed a legendary Celestial Physique, the Innate Unmarred Perfection.

Therefore, many Elders of the Immortal Wang Family claimed that her mighty origin might be related to the Celestial Domain that had been lost for ages. Nevertheless, that was only a rumour, one that even Wang Zijin was uninterested in, knowing that she possessed no daunting origin, but merely a normal, unremarkable life of a transmigrator.

Right now, she was silently conditioning her breath and blood flow during her cultivation just as she always had. That habit of hers began and persisted since she first started cultivating.

Although she was indeed a jealous woman, not many things managed to trigger her competitiveness. Yet, she had never once slacked on her path to absolute power as a cultivator. After all, having transmigrated to this wuxia world, she found it meaningless if she failed to become the most powerful cultivator in this world, which would be disgraceful to her transmigration and her second chance at life.

Prior to now, she was always scornful of those talents born and raised here. Be it their personalities, cultivation levels, or backgrounds, none was able to pique her interest.

In her previous life, she could only lay in the hospital bed alone and interact with other worlds through a screen. And instead of being so miserable, she wished to find a white knight as a partner after she transmigrated.

However, thanks to her background and her exceptional Talents, she felt enlightened, as if she entered a wuxia world she couldn’t be any more familiar with. Not only was she a young prodigy of the Immortal Wang Family who earned her respect at birth, but she also possessed strength that surpassed her peers as well as a background that many craved. Given the circumstances, as much as she wanted to, she could never find a man that she was fascinated in.

Thus, she predicted she would be dying alone in this life, living a lonesome life of a cultivator and becoming an almighty warrior, sadly, without anyone to rely on. Though, that had always been her expectation and attitude, which was why she would always seem unaffected, when it was really just her indifference.

Such a mindset of hers had been going on for a long time, but it was only until she met Gu Changge that she found something was different about that man as she felt a deep sense of nostalgia from his way of speech and perception. More importantly, although she fancied looking at beautiful people, she could never really fall in love at first sight.

Essentially, there was never a young prodigy cursed with ugly looks, so despite having met so many young prodigies and pursuers in Mortal Palace, she never faltered.

Nonetheless, for some reason, Gu Changge was especially appealing. Back when she saw him suppressing the True Dragon Clan with a faint smile, she felt something hit her heart. She immediately knew that her heart wavered for a moment.

As a transmigrator who possessed such a powerful position, upon realising this vulnerability of hers, she started contemplating and eventually concluded that typical protagonists were not her cup of tea after discovering the refreshing sensation from Gu Changge she never felt before. And that was why she grew curious hence interested in him. Yet, even until now, she could never see through him. It was as if he was being hidden within a mysterious mist.

Thinking that if this persisted, she, as a transmigrator, would eventually meet her doom, she wanted to know. Unravel this mist of mystery surrounding him and witness his true power beforehand.

“It must be my lack of strength that forbids me from grasping his cultivation level,” she muttered to herself.

In fact, whenever she chatted with Gu Changge, she could obviously sense his perfunctory attitude by how he would speak with courteous smiles despite bearing no interest in her. To her, it was as clear as day that he was concealing a freezing face behind his kind gestures.

After all, her countless pursuers always expressed utmost adoration for her openly or discreetly, and none of them were like Gu Changge, who donned a zealous facade in spite of his disinterest in her. Be it in her past life or previous life, she always loved rebellious antagonists.

“Judging by the situation, I won’t be able to win his heart for now…” Letting out a sigh, Wang Zijin gently shook her head as she exited her state of cultivation. She was aware that although she might seem closely acquainted with Gu Changge, that was only a pretence for the public’s eyes. There was no telling what was going on in his mind.

“It seems my transmigration to this world won’t be going smoothly, but that makes it even more interesting.” Her beguiling eyes twinkled as she felt determined for the first time. After such a long time, she finally found a man that managed to move her heart, so she felt tempted to make him hers.

“So what if he’s engaged? Will I, a transmigrator, be beaten by a lowly fiancee?”

[Huh!?] All of a sudden, she suddenly tensed her brows as her thoughts were interrupted by an uncanny aura that carried immense hostility and coldness, to which she sprung out of her bed.

“Who’s there!?” She immediately shouted, glaring with a freezing gaze. Her intuitive was that the visitor was no ally given that the aura was overflowing with murderous intent so dense that it could suffocate her like the ocean. All beings, whether they were in the Partial-Enlightened Realm, True Enlightened Realm, Enlightened Noble Realm, or Enlightened King Realm, would surely tremble at such a moment.

“An aura of the Sacred Realm…” Wang Zijin muttered with a scowl. Those who were in the Quasi-Sacred Realm were regarded as cultivators who had touched on the Sacred Realm, but it was obvious that the aura came from no ordinary expert in the Sacred Realm. It could be Quasi-Sacred Realm, Sacred Noble Realm, or even the Sacred Lord Realm.

Suddenly, an ominous feeling rose in her heart. She never would have expected someone would attack right in the territory of the Immortal Gu Family as though they had no fear of being detected.

“I’ve just left Mortal Palace. Why is there someone after me so soon?” She continued staring with a frown. She had no idea whom she offended, perhaps one of her foes in the Immortal Wang Family who came to kill her.

At that moment, a suppressing pressure instantaneously surrounded the entire palace, and all of the weapons started quivering as the glyphs carved on the floor were gleaming.

*Zoom!* A black, vague figure of a tall man appeared out of nowhere in the palace, as though he was a demon god who came from hell with a menacing aura that could strangle one to death. Its eyes bore utmost coldness with not a trace of emotion, staring at her as if she was a dead person.

“Who are you!? How dare you barge into the territory of the Immortal Gu Family?” Wang Zijin coldly asked with a frown as she sensed the mysterious figure was in the Sacred Lord Realm. As of now, she wouldn’t be able to subdue an opponent of such a level.

Currently, there were many formidable experts within the Immortal Gu Family’s territory. Forget the unimaginable might and the hidden experts in the Gu Family, there were even experts from the Immortal Wang Family that attended the birthday banquet as guests in the palace. Therefore, she was baffled as to why the attacker would be so bold to show up and attempt to murder her, and that would only make sense if the attacker of unsound mind or even insane.

“Master’s order is to take your life.” The black figure replied with an apathetic tone, emitting a hellish, aggressive aura that could destroy the world. An aura of a being of Sacred Lord Realm was enough to suppress all lands and shatter the stars outside the plane.

“Master?” Wang Zijin caught an important clue and instantly grew perturbed.

[Someone in the Sacred Lord Realm is calling someone else master? How powerful is that master, then? Having infiltrated to this spot without getting detected, he must have hidden himself among the guests of the Immortal Gu Family. And now that the sky is dark, he decided that now is the best time to strike.]

Thinking that, Wang Zijin felt somewhat chilly. Her cultivation level was only in the Quasi-Sacred Realm, so there was no way she could outfight an enemy in the Sacred Lord Realm. Nevertheless, she couldn’t detect any life-threatening danger. After all, if the loud noises were to break out, many experts would definitely be alarmed, so all she had to do now was to delay her death long enough for the other cultivators to sense the disturbance here before coming to rescue her.

“D*mn it…” Unfortunately, what happened next put an intensely shocked grimace on her face. “How is this possible…”

*Whoosh!* A mysterious and complex talisman was released into the air, followed by a strange shockwave that covered the entire palace. Then, thick mists surged in all directions and blurred her vision as well as the skies.

In that instant, unless she could use some sort of daunting power to defeat this person in the Sacred Lord Realm, or a magic weapon to repel the anomalies in the room, no matter how deafening the sound of the upcoming battle was, it would never escape the room.

“So you even have this secret treasure. It seems someone has come prepared with plans to have me killed, huh.” Wang Zijin was visibly displeased as she tensed her brows. Swiftly, she thought things out and drew a powerful secret treasure with her snowy hand.

Indeed, a battle was inevitable, but no matter how strong her Talents were, she, being only in the Quasi-Sacred Realm, would never go up against someone in the Sacred Lord Realm. Needless to say, the enemy could kill her as quickly as killing an ant.

Covered in dark gleams, the figure let out a snicker as he retained his apathy. “Master has predicted everything, so there’s no use in resisting. Just surrender and die. Anyone in this world that dares to him would only face death, starting with you, then I’ll have Gu Changge’s head.”

As the figure was speaking, he swung his arms forward, fragmenting the space as he intended to kill Wang Zijin while the room was sealed. Drawing his hands, he summoned the ferocious World Principles, but to prevent others from detecting the disturbance, he deliberately minimised the magnitude of his motions as he broke the mysterious talisman. Essentially, the aura of the Sacred Lord Realm could already obliterate the world, so there was no telling what would happen if he went all out.

“Who is your master?” Upon those words, especially Gu Changge’s name, Wang Zijin was visibly triggered, after which she stonily exclaimed, “You know who I am. You better not get caught now, or you’ll die a pathetic death!”

Simultaneously, she summoned a skewer of radiating Five-Hued Bone Beads. Each bead was as large as a goose’s egg, shimmering with an otherworldly shockwave and emitting crimson gleams while a holograph of the starry skies appeared above them. Their overbearing aura was overflowing like that of the galaxy and immediately filled the entire room, extremely terrifying.

Those beads were a Transcendent Grade Artifact. Although it wasn’t enough to defeat someone in the Sacred Lord Realm, buying some time with them might still suffice.

With that in mind, Wang Zijin remained somewhat anxious. [Clearly, the assassination attempt is pre-planned given how the attacker came with such a rare weapon to seal of this area. It’s no question that they’ve been planning for this. But their target isn’t just me, but also Gu Changge?]

“You are in no position to know Master’s name. Fret not, for your identity has determined that you shall die in his hands!” The black figure claimed with an icy chortle as he speedily tore the astral aura apart along with its energies. *Boom!* The Five-Hued Bone Beads exploded as crimson fragments drifted in the air. Effortlessly, the black figure destroyed Wang Zijin’s secret treasure.

[Is he perhaps related to the Successor of Demonic Arts?] In that instant, Wang Zijin figured it out as she connected the dot to the Successor of Demonic Arts before feeling chills all over her body. At the same time, her face grew even colder knowing that the Successor of Demonic Arts would be so daring to infiltrate the Immortal Gu Family’s territory to assassinate her.

[How ballsy! Besides, he might already know who I really am. The Successor of Demonic Arts must not be working alone. There must be a whole organisation behind him!]

“Let’s see how long you’ll last!” The black figure mocked with a sneer, swinging his giant hands through the thick mists as though he was a predator leisurely approaching its puny prey. He didn’t seem to be hasty to murder Wang Zijin. Instead, he looked as if he wanted to torture her until she lost all hope. After all, it would be as effortless as squashing a bug for any powerful being below the Sacred King Realm to slaughter a cultivator in the Quasi-Sacred Realm.

[This is my chance!] With how the enemy was taking his time, a trace of light flashed across Wang Zijin’s eyes, after which she speedily stepped backwards before summoning numerous magic weapons to defend herself.

Since ancient times, villains had always been defeated due to their talkativeness, and seeing such a thing actually exist, Wang Zijin subconsciously heaved a sigh of relief. As long as she could buy enough time until the other cultivators sensed the disturbance here, then she could be rescued.

Besides, she was quite against using her ultimate move before the final moment. In the first place, she wasn’t even sure that items left behind for her by the Ancestors of the Wang Family could actually protect her from someone in the Sacred Lord Realm. Furthermore, no young prodigy would face someone in the Sacred Lord Realm, especially not an assassination attempt. Even if they did, they would have immediately turned into ashes.

“Blargh!” Very soon, Wang Zijin realised that she was overthinking things. No matter how many magic weapons she possessed, she couldn’t resist the bare aura of someone in the Sacred Lord Realm. She was inflicted with grave damage and left spewing blood; her entire body was in excruciating pain as many of her bones were broken.

[Is this the power of the Sacred Lord Realm?] Her face was rather pale. Her snowy garment was stained by her fresh blood. Never in her life was she ever in such a pathetic state.

[I guess this is as far as I go…] A depressing thought surged in her mind as she grew reluctant.

[Am I going to just die right after I’ve found someone who managed to move my heart?] She grasped a sheet of golden paper hidden in her sleeve.

“Haha! Master has predicted everything. No one will be coming for your rescue today!” The black figure claimed as it dew a terrorizing power that could shatter the stars towards Wang Zijin.

After sending his demonic puppet to assassinate Wang Zijin, Gu Changge left the palace and walked onto the sky as his garment swayed along the nightly breeze. As he stood above the palace with his arms behind him, staring at another palace, his hair flew along the winds. Then, a faint black and white heavenly gleam surged in his eyes.

In that instant, the entire world became hazy. The fusion of light and shadow, the essence of the universe, as well as the World Principles appeared in his eyes. No movement in the whole Beyond was able to escape his vision. He could hear the chattering and breathing sounds of the cultivators in the palaces. Everything was clear and vivid.

That was his application of Origin of Reincarnation on an Eye Technique. As no being of the world would be able to escape the paths of Reincarnation, he could witness the rebirths of every living being under the Principles of Reincarnation, so seeing through the countless tricks and abilities of his opponents wouldn’t even cause him to break a sweat.

In Gu Changge’s eyes, except for those that possessed significantly higher cultivation level than him, any subtle motion in the vast world could be perceived easily. Therefore, he could actually  observe what was happening in the palace Wang Zijin was in.

[It’s not time yet. It’s not time for the white knight to show up.] Gu Changge revealed a slight smile as everything was under his grasp.

If Wang Zijin were unfortunately murdered by the puppet, there wouldn’t be much of a difference to him. Though, he might feel somewhat disappointed for having overestimated her strength. The talisman he acquired from the System Shop cost a great amount of Fatums. Essentially, there were too many powerful figures in the Immortal Gu Family. So, if one of them were to sense anything off and foiling his plan, that would be devastating.

Gu Changge’s grin grew even more fascinating as he estimated that Wang Zijin was facing a dire situation, though it was barely a life-threatening one. In order to buy some time for her, he even commanded the puppet to go easy on her.

“Now all there is left to do is wait. It’s quite saddening that I won’t be able to witness a good fight.” He let out a sigh, feigning not even the slightest regard for Wang Zijin’s life.

Since the Successor of the Mortal Palace had come out to the world, every plan prepared by him was ruined. However, now that Wang Zijin had arrived, along with another Successor of the Mortal Palace as well as that horse feeder that came out of nowhere, Gu Changge’s chance at conquering the Mortal Palace grew.

With that, seeing as it was about time, Gu Changge started walking towards the palace where Wang Zijin was. Nonetheless, he had no intention of being the one to detect the disturbance. Essentially, given that it was concealed with a talisman, those in the Sacred King Realm that were nearby could sense the fight going on in the palace, who would go in to save her. After all, for him, a young man, to discover the turbulence remarkably faster than a Sacred Realm expert, it would be highly suspicious.

As a man who had always created flawless plans, he was in no rush. Furthermore, he was confident that Wang Zijin, as both a transmigrator and a Fortuitous Lady, could take more than a few punches, so he believed that she could turn the disaster around easily. Besides, he had already ordered the puppet to pull his punches.

As Gu Changge was pondering, he suddenly squinted his eyes.

“Here comes the time for the white knight to shine.” With a grin, he transformed into a divine rainbow and rush over to the palace. The next moment, his grin turned into a cold, murderous look as he shoute with a freezing voice that thundered through the pitch black sky.

“Brazen scum, how dare you pull such an atrocious act right under the nose of the Immoral Gu Family! I’ll make you beg for death!”

Upon the blaring voice, many were startled.

*Whoosh!* Instantly, he appeared at the resting spot of the Wang Family with an icy glare. Without hesitation, he thrusted his palm towards the lower part of the palace, sending forth a terrifying palm that emitted blinding lights as if it was an exploding miniature sun.

“What’s happening? Isn’t that Young Master Changge’s voice? Is he fighting someone? Why is he shouting all of a sudden?” Countless cultivators walked out of their chambers stupefied as they peered at the sky.

“The noises seem to have come from the resting spot of the Immortal Wang Family…” A huge group of people from the different forces suddenly appeared in the sky, seemingly bewildered and dazed. Given that it was late at night, their minds were all hazy as they were oblivious to what was happening.

“That direction is where the Wang Family is… Is Changge going for Wang Zijin’s head right now?” In the opposite direction, Yue Mingkong rose to the sky with her calm look of contemplation. Her instinct was that Gu Changge attacked Wang Zijin. Judging by his personality, he would never procrastinate when he was executing a plan.

Through the sky, deafening noises reverberated. *Boom!* After a great deal of effort, Wang Zijin finally managed to leak a tiny volume of tremble to the outside world through the concealment of the talisman. At once, the talisman exploded with dazzling beams.

In that instant, her body was stained with blood while her face was weak and pale, yet she retained a bright smile.

“I’m sorry, but reinforcement is here,” she smilingly said to the black figure.

“D*mn it! Don’t be happy so soon! Even if I can’t kill you, someone else will come in my stead!” The black figure was frustrated as anger surged on his face. No longer suppressing his Sacred Lord Realm aura, he channelled all of his world-destroying power and charged at Wang Zijin as if he was going to end her. He seemed surprised by the number of tricks she had up her sleeves and delaying her death even till now before eventually finding an opportunity to destroy the concealing array.

Upon that moment, many experts from the Wang Family were alarmed by such suspicious activity breaking out in the middle of the night.

Gu Changge responded swiftly, but he, in fact, deliberately slowed down his appearance.

Meanwhile, the old coachman, who was in his carriage, speedily opened his eyes, where a golden serpent-like gleam surged.

“Who are you!?” Infuriated, he instantaneously sensed that a formidable enemy was trying to assassinate Wang Zijin. Since he was quite near the castle, he arrived much faster than Gu Changge.

*Boom!* A cosmic explosion erupted.

“Young Mistress!” He stormed into the palace at lightning speed, only to find the bloody Wang Zijin. Intuitively, he widened his eyes of fury and started battling the black figure. The battle between two experts in the Sacred Lord Realm quickly drew the attention of the others as the noise of the battle was unimaginably immense.

“What!?” Nearby cultivators were dumbfounded as they stood still with their shocked faces.

However, very soon, they regained their senses and immediately felt a chill up their spines. At that moment, they realised that an incomparably terrorizing expert in the Sacred Lord Realm had attempted to assassinate the mysterious woman from the Immortal Wang Family, and this expert had even managed to hide his actions from everyone by sealing up the room. If it weren’t for such a disturbing turmoil, they wouldn’t have noticed it.

“How terrifying! Who could stand that? To think that someone in the Sacred Lord Realm is trying to kill a young woman…” They were trembling in fear, but what they found most unbelievable was that the mysterious woman from the Wang Family actually managed to survive without getting herself killed.

“Who is that mysterious woman?”

“This is totally undreamt of! For her to become a target of someone in the Sacred Lord Realm right under the noses of the Immortal Gu Family…”
