“Your mentor came from the Upper Realm, so his horizon far exceeds that of cultivators of the Lower Realm. No one has been able to recognise your extraordinariness, yet he did, which was why he knew you were special at first glance. Besides, Yao Yao, why do you think he treats you so nicely? I know I might break your heart saying this, but as your brother, I must,” Jiang Yang slowly stated with a stern face, intending to expose Gu Changge’s true colour for Yao Yao’s sake.
He didn’t know what Gu Changge told Yao Yao, but at that moment, whether his speech was effective or not, he had to let his pure-hearted sister notice her mentor’s dark motive.
“Despite your inability to cultivate, he’s nice enough to keep you by his side, but only because he has other plans for you. I want you to know that no one in the world would feign kindness for no good reason, and your mentor is one despicable snake. He must intend to bring you to the Upper Realm to have you forge pills or something else. These are all what I found in the archives of Celestia Holy Land last night.”
Having said that, Jiang Yang heaved a sigh, fearing that Yao Yao might interrogate him, so he even explained how he knew those things. To be fair, his words were not defamation as they were a conclusion upon thorough contemplation.
Judging by Gu Changge’s abilities back in the palace, it was obvious that he was no good man, and it didn’t make sense why he would unconditionally offer to accept Yao Yao as his disciple.
Given Jiang Yang’s perceptiveness, he could recognise the huge issue within the matter, the so-called Immortal’s intentions were more than meet the eye, evil even.
Hearing that, Yao Yao was stupefied. Her face turned pale as she grasped her little hands. Swiftly, as if she remembered something, rage and coldness surged on her face. She then reprimanded, “You are lying! Master is not how you say he is! Don’t you say bad things about him!”
As she was speaking, her facial expression suddenly changed.
*Whoosh!* A peach-like pattern occurred between her brows, glowing in a strange way. As lights begin to flare, a terrorizing aura soared to the sky. Her body was surrounded with a surge of suppressing coldness, as if the eternal reincarnation undermined the existence of all beings. She remained intact amid the disasters as all lives were being devastated.
…
Meanwhile, in the depths of Celestia Holy Land, heavenly mists wafted as arrays resembling glistening rain in heaven intertwined. In a deep, quiet passage…
“Don’t try anything stupid, or you’ll die quicker,” Gu Changge warned with a faint grin as he leisurely walked down the passage. The arrays on both sides of the passage started emitting dense aggressive aura and runes that formed terrifying weapons that let out a deafening ring, intending to eliminate Gu Changge. Nonetheless, at a swing of an arm, a thick oppressive aura, like rain, plummeted on the runes, destroying them.
“Blargh!” The two Sacred Noble Realm Elders before him were sent away flying as they spewed blood. They were fatally injured upon coming in contact with the aura as many of their bones were broken.
“H—How did you get in here…” The Sacred Noble Realm Elders forcefully got themselves up, incredulous to what they saw. Out of nowhere, Gu Changge barged in the deepest spot of Celestia Holy Land, where all their secrets were hidden, and the two Elders were assigned to safeguard the place from any trespassers.
Indubitably, they were aware of Gu Changge’s identity, the mysterious Immortal that came to Celestia Holy Land just recently. Nonetheless, for some reason, he came infiltrating the depths of Celestia Holy Land, and they couldn’t fathom what his intentions were.
Suppressed by Gu Changge’s aura, they could feel even their souls were violently trembling, as if they were about to crumble from the paralysis. Under such a circumstance, let alone resist, they could hardly move. As such, they grew deeply dejected and disbelieving.
“I said silence. You would have gotten to live longer if you’ve listened.” Leisurely speaking, Gu Changge flicked his finger and it turned as a frightening sword-like beam that resembled a godly blade occurred, and the beam rapidly flew forward and penetrated the head of the two Elders. Their souls were instantly disintegrated. Then a string of runes crystallised into a Grand Flask floating in the air emitting a dark glow, which then absorbed every essence and energy of the Elders.
It proved no issue for Gu Changge to infiltrate the forbidden area within the depths of Celestia Holy Land, as if he was simply walking on a flatland, and since the two Elders insisted on stopping him, he could only compromise. As for their souls that were tethered to the Soul Lamp, he deliberately used the Grand Flask to contain them instead of devouring them right away to avoid alerting and angering the entire Celestia Holy Land.
[The Celestia Sacred Emperor should be sealed here. I should seize Jiang Yang’s biggest pillar of support while he’s still away. He’ll be furious to find out about this. Well, I wouldn’t mind finding a superior grade weapon.] Gu Changge revealed an enthralling grin as he continued walking down the passage.
Upon completion of his arrangements, in his eyes, the Mortal One was no different from Ye Ling and Lin Tian, who were oblivious to the fact that their lives were controlled by Gu Changge. And now, Gu Changge was only waiting to drain the Mortal One of his value before landing the final blow. But before that, he would need to strip the Mortal One of his vicious abilities, rendering him completely fangless. Jiang Yang would never expect that Gu Changge infiltrated the depths of Celestia Holy Land to destroy every card up his sleeves.
Very soon, Gu Changge shattered the layers of arrays before him and eventually arrived at where Celestia Holy Land kept its secrets. It was an ancient, grand chamber, and at its highest spot, a dense aura was wafting, resembling fog as chaotic as the Divine Chains of Order.
“There’s even such a technique in the Heavenly Star Realm. It seems Celestia Sacred Emperor has left behind countless backups for the Mortal One. These are all artifacts that serve as foundations for cultivating, and there’s so much Astral Chaos Sand as well…”
Gu Changge scanned across the sceneries in the chamber. Above him, there was Chaos Energy in the form of forceful waves, which was actually Astral Chaos Sand, and one grain of it was incredibly weighty, enough to flatten a gigantic mountain. Such rarity was scarce even in the Upper Realm, so it shouldn’t exist in Heavenly Star Realm at all, yet there was such an abundant mass of them in the chamber.
Apart from that, there were a great number of treasures such as Wondrous Roots, sacred fruits, dragon bones, celestial jades. As these treasures were incomparably deep, their exposure to the outside world would certainly cause massive bloodshed among cultivators.
“These are all meant for Jiang Yang, but I guess I’ll be the one doing the honour now…” Revealing a subtle grin, Gu Changge swung his arm and his Power of Void erupted.
Everything including the Astral Chaos Sand that was floating atop the chamber was seized away by him, making the robbed chamber absolutely empty. Eventually, Gu Changge set his target upon the chamber, suppressing the Divine Source with an ancient, complex golden cauldron.
“The Celestia Sacred Emperor…” A dark gleam, along with an icy, demonic aura slowly surged in his eyes.
*Whoosh!* Without any hesitation, he swung his arms and cast a violent gush of his Power of Void that formed into an illusionary barrier that surrounded the chamber to prevent any aura from leaking. Simultaneously, from his dantian, a Grand Flask appeared with a dark glow, as if it was a black hole that was to engulf the entire universe.
A terrifying figure was sitting, sealed within the Divine Source. Donning armour with a chilly aura and possessing a pair of horns, the figure appeared hazy, but his abnormally huge size was equivalent to that of a divine being. At that moment, cracks were occurring on the Divine Source as the aura within it was leaking out.
Seeing that, Gu Changge inferred that Jiang Yang’s power originated from this Divine Source, which caused the entire Celestia Holy Land to respect him like a god. Followingly, he swiftly drew his hands to absorb it to empower himself.
“Who’s there?” Right as Gu Changge put his hands out, the figure in the Divine Source opened his stone cold eyes that were as deep as the galaxy. Angered, the figure did not expect anyone was bold enough to attack him during his deep slumber. [How daring!]
The next moment, when he could clearly see the Grand Flask that was coming down on him, he was visibly stunned. From his cold self, he grew shocked, dismayed, and even a little terrified.
“How is this possible… The Grand Flask…” As he recognised the ebony flask, his voice started to tremble, while his soul shivered.
As someone in the Sacred Emperor Realm, although he was merely a manifestation, he possessed an outstanding strength unrivalled by any ordinary Sacred King Realm expert. Nonetheless, the instant he saw the Grand Flask, it was as if his entire body was frozen. There was nothing but chills all over his body. The Grand Flask resurfaced, and it was now going to kill him, and he didn’t even notice Gu Changge who suddenly charged at him with his Demon Halberd.
Before he realised it, he was already drowned in dense Demonic Energy. Resonating to the sound, the Divine Source shattered and its fragments pierced on his body, as if he was struck by the shards of a meteor. The turbulence was abysmal as his shoulder almost exploded. If Gu Changge didn’t cast the array around the chamber, the aura collision would have destroyed every building nearby.
“Y-You have appeared… Successor of Demonic Arts…” Unable to remain composed, the Celestia Sacred Emperor shivered, staring at Gu Changge as if he was about to penetrate him with his gaze.
As Gu Changge’s face was veiled by a layer of mist, his visage was blurred, and the only thing revealed was his emotionless eyes, glaring at the Celestia Sacred Emperor as if he was an object.
Naturally, the Celestia Sacred Emperor grew even more frightened as he was reminded of the rumours before he was born. The Successor of Demonic Arts once devastated countless domains. It was a sorrowful age of all beings. Everything was dark, and there was not even a ray of hope.
“Be good and surrender your Source to me. There’s no need for unnecessary resistance,” Gu Changge flatly stated. Although the being before him was in the Sacred Emperor Realm, his tone of speech was still overbearing and condescending.
“How dare you speak to me in that manner, you brat! How did you get here?” Infuriated, the Celestia Sacred Emperor turned his attention to Gu Changge, thinking he was merely a complacent young man.
Gu Changge’s cultivation level was merely in the Sacred Realm, yet he was bold enough to talk to a Sacred Emperor in that pompous tone. Besides, the Sacred Emperor’s existence was closely related to the Mortal One and his reincarnation, and now that the Successor of Demonic Arts was here, the Mortal One was certainly at a disadvantage. Thus, the Celestia Sacred Emperor grew anxious and worried, but he was merely a phantom, so there was nothing much he could do.
*Boom!*
“Does it matter how I get here? What matters is that you and the Mortal One are about to die,” Gu Changge faintly stated as he drew his hands.
As the Eight Barren Demonic Halberd landed, blinding light surged upon a cosmical explosion; Divine Chains of Order trembled as it was about to slaughter the manifestation. As the Grand Flask was plummeting, runes rained down from the sky.
With that, a spine-chilling voice filled with reluctance and vexation was heard. As if some being was resisting to fight for its life, there was a quaking roar.
Alas, the sounds were contained by the grey, smoky array as every disturbance was completely engulfed by the Grand Flask high up in the sky. That scene resembled the destruction of the universe, and as the dark gleam fell, a heavy, thundering noise was emitted.
At last, the disturbance gradually waned, as if nothing ever happened. As the smoke dispersed, Gu Changge walked out of it. However, his eyes were shut, as if he was mesmerised by the energy from earlier.
He then shook his head. [Tsk. The taste of the manifestation of someone in the Sacred Emperor Realm is indeed more exquisite than any Sources I’ve absorbed. Regardless, this is a good opportunity for blame to be tossed onto the Celestia Sacred Emperor.]
Thinking that, Gu Changge opened his eyes. His cultivation level was ascended to Peak Sacred Realm, and he was one step away from breaking through to the Sacred Noble Realm. He was pretty content with his pace of advancement, but the weapon of the Celestia Sacred Emperor was nowhere to be found. If it wasn’t in the chamber, it must be kept somewhere else.
Now that the manifestation of the Celestia Sacred Emperor disappeared, he now had an excuse to explain his worries. When the time came, he could tell Yao Yao that Jiang Yang had his body taken over by the Celestia Sacred Emperor, and the silhouette of Celestia Holy Land’s Prime Ancestor, was nothing but an image shaped by his energy.
As such, he could now explain the strange and indifferent attitude of the Celestia Holy Land’s people towards Jiang Yang. At the end of the day, Jiang Yang was a disciple of Celestia Holy Land, and one who was to bring them glory, despite the fact that he had his body possessed. None of them would mind such a trivial detail, but it would be huge to Yao Yao.
At that moment, as Gu Changge was about to leave the chamber, he was suddenly dazed. His eyes grew deeper as he saw the scenery perceived by the Demonised Dharma Body in the jade pendant Yao Yao was wearing, especially with Yao Yao’s aggressive change, whereby the peach flower started to glow, emitting a terrifying aura. Excited, he revealed a grin.
[Oh, you said these to Yao Yao? It is as I predicted. I knew you were going to tell Yao Yao that, which was why I laid down my preparations early on, and that is to be fully upfront to her. Oh, Jiang Yang, you thought I’m one step behind you, but I’m ten steps ahead. I’ve already figured out what you intend to do. As for the Mortal One, you truly let me down.] Unaffected by the incident, Gu Changge scoffed.
Jiang Yang was completely oblivious to the fact that he, not Yao Yao, had always been Gu Changge’s target, and Yao Yao was nothing but a pawn to get to ‘Jiang Yang’.
Thus, from the beginning, Gu Changge had frankly told Yao Yao that he accepted her as his disciple solely because of her unique aura and the fact that he thought her origin was complicated. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been so kind as to stop at an insignificant village so deliberately.
Back then, Yao Yao expressed her acknowledgement to the idea, so she wasn’t exactly disheartened. Being an intelligent girl, she understood that Gu Changge wouldn’t have accepted her as his disciple for no good reason, hence she always knew that expected a pay back.
Furthermore, upon discovering that she was incapable of cultivating, Gu Changge confessed that he had the idea of abandoning her, which startled the little girl, but thanks to his agile mind, he remorsefully, helplessly stated that he would keep her by his side since he had been her mentor for such a long time. Moreover, she was quite a mature, tactful little girl that wouldn’t obstruct his plans, so she could tend to trivial tasks like giving him a massage when she grew up. Upon the clarification, Yao Yao was delighted, responding with a gleeful smile.
Moreover, Gu Changge even added that Yao Yao’s origin was far more horrifying than he imagined, so there might be a possibility for her to become some world-changing being, which was why he wished to draw her closer to him, and one day he might even get to depend on her. Although that was only a half-hearted joke, Gu Changge was brutally honest with her, and Yao Yao was smart enough to understand that.
As such, Jiang Yang’s words now, to Yao Yao, obviously indicated that he was trying to tear her and her mentor apart. As of now, the person Yao Yao trusted the most was Gu Changge, and apart from that, her resentment and rage for the person that took over her brother’s body were unimaginable. Therefore, the sudden outburst of the Dao Fruit wasn’t exactly surprising to Gu Changge, whose grin grew even more excited.
From the vision of the Demonised Dharma Body, Gu Changge saw many things.
Followingly, at a steady pace, he left the chamber and walked into the rift that appeared before him as he was hurrying to the ancient city outside Celestia Holy Land.
…
On the street, upon Jiang Yang’s message, Yao Yao’s expression drastically changed as her aura engulfed the entire region. The shaking ground and the howling wind left every cultivator and living being shivering out of dread as they were about to drop on their knees.
“Yao Yao…” Grandma Yin Hua, who was beside her, was visibly startled the moment she sensed the great change.
Quickly, Jiang Yang realised what was happening and he too was obviously shocked and dismayed.
*Whoosh!* Sensing the dangerous aura, the runes he summoned in his hands turned into a radiant ancient glyph, floating in the sky to protect himself.
Nonetheless, in that instant, there was nothing but coldness in Yao Yao’s eyes, much like an ancient cruel universe. Levitating into the air, she raised her petite hand and a terrorizing aura plunged as if the sky was collapsing upon all living beings.
“This is bad…” Alarmed, Zhao Yi, the Supreme Elder, who was behind Jiang Yang, was about to stop Yao Yao, but before she could make a move, she found herself spewing blood.
At Yao Yao’s effortless strike, forceful, gigantic waves resulting from the blow surged in the sky. Immediately, Zhao Yi was sent flying in the air, screaming in pain as half of her body exploded. Blood splattered everywhere, and her state was awfully miserable. A being in the Sacred Noble Realm was gravely injured within a split second.
“How did this happen…” On the other hand, Jiang Yang, dumbfounded, hastily evaded every attack with lightning speed. It was as if the ground under his feet merged with him. His speed was certainly on par with that of Zhao Yi, but his defensive ability was significantly weaker.
*Crack!* Another explosion erupted in the air. Puking blood and painfully shouting, Jiang Yang, who took a devastating hit from Yao Yao, instantly crashed into a giant building and dust drifted everywhere. There was no telling if he survived the attack.
Finished, Yao Yao, who drained every ounce of her energy, fell down from the sky as she kept her big, confused eyes open, clueless to what she just did. However, instead of falling onto the ground, she fell into a warm embrace.
Looking at the figure that appeared behind her, Yao Yao let out a soft voice. “Master…”
