“Jiang Yang, what’s all this about? Why did people from the Mystic Mountains and Forbidden Areas claiming that you stole their artifact?”
The atmosphere in the palace felt silent and oppressive, like a volcano about to erupt. The Elders and disciples had mixed emotions on their faces—anger, fear, worry, and anxiety. They all looked as if they were facing an imminent disaster.
Celestial Archbishop had spoken, his expression dark with fury as he glared at Jiang Yang. Right now, strong beings were gathering outside their borders with the living beings of the Mystic Mountains and Forbidden Area behind them, asking them to hand over the disciple who had stolen their artifacts.
The Dark Upheaval had started as soon as the order was given, leaving a trail of blood behind it. It shocked all in the Sky Domain and struck fear into their hearts. All caused by Jiang Yang.
Many speculated that the chaos had been brewing for a while, and Jiang Yang had only been the trigger. The beings in Mystic Mountains and Forbidden Areas had merely taken the chance to cause this uproar.
The Celestial Archbishop knew that the whole business had nothing to do with the Celestia Holy Land, but now they had become involved thanks to Jiang Yang. They had a Sacred Emperor Grade artifact, a known protective hidden power. Thus, no one would dare attack them unless they were stupid enough to do so. However, the opposing sides didn’t care about that fact now, meaning that Jiang Yang had done something too offensive for them to worry about that threat.
The Archbishop could still recall how Jiang Yang had fled back here in shame while covered in blood. Even Zhao Yi, who had gone with him, looked badly wounded. What did that mean?
That meant, of course, that they had sneaked into those places to steal their artifacts! She had even taken the artifact of Celestia Holy Land with her. All the Elders seemed to agree with this explanation.
“Jiang Yang, you better give us a good explanation of everything, or we will bind you and throw you out!” Some of the Elders wore cold expressions. They didn’t plan to suffer since Jiang Yang had dragged them into this.
“Exactly! It’s all your fault for bringing us unwanted trouble. How are we going to do to defend ourselves against this assault? Our Prime Ancestor’s manifestation doesn’t even appear anymore!” Another Elder roared.
“Jiang Yang must have gotten lucky back then by lying to everyone. Why don’t we take this chance to kick him out before anything worse happens?”
The Palace was soon filled with voices shouting at Jiang Yang, scolding and blaming him. The only person standing on his side was the Supreme Elder Zhao Yi, whose influence was no longer as strong. Ancestors in the Sacred Noble Realm had shown up as well, making her words useless even though she really wanted to help him.
She was now the only person who trusted Jiang Yang since she had witnessed him getting ambushed by the mysterious woman from the Upper Realm to kill him. But what was the point of her explaining? Her status as the Supreme Elder was no longer stable.
“All of these people have set me up, and all of you actually believed what they said? Even without the manifestation, we still have the Celestial Seal protecting us. Do we even need to worry about them?” Jiang Yang’s expression further darkened. Everything was getting worse by the minute, and even the occupants of the Celestia Holy Land wanted to kick him out.
He was being pushed away from this place, the centre of his plan, and Jiang Yang had the feeling that there were a pair of invisible hands taking away his Fortuity. This made him uneasy as it was the first time things had become so horrendous, and he had never dealt with such a situation before. However, his mental resilience remained strong as he tried forcing himself to calm down.
[Just who is plotting against me? Who is that mysterious woman who had attacked me, and how does she know my identity?] He felt depressed at the thought.
“Stop talking. Do you still want us to be dragged down with you to face the consequences of your crimes?” The other Elders looked more enraged at his words, almost planning to jump up and call him a shameless bastard. The Elders of Celestia Holy Land had helped him develop, but he had brought trouble to their door and acted like it was okay to do so. An ingrate!
Jiang Yang frowned more deeply and growled, “Shut up. You are all fools who cannot differentiate between the truth and lies.”
The Prime Ancestor of this place had a long history with him; the Prime Ancestor was enlightened by him with a wave of his hand. That was the reason for the faction existing. Without him, there would be no Celestia Holy Land. How could they blame him for everything?
“Arrogant!”
“You are seeking death!”
Jiang Yang shouldn’t have said anything. His words only serve to further infuriate those from the Celestia Holy Land. Their expressions were solemn, as they couldn’t believe that he was still so arrogant and boastful. They had been angry when Jiang Yang offended the mysterious Immortal but had refrained from scolding him because of who Yao Yao was. But now? He was dragging them through the mud!
“Okay, enough talk. Can someone tie him down and send him out for our visitors? From now on, he is expelled from the Celestia Holy Land. Everything he does will no longer be linked to us.” the Celesia Archbishop waved his hand and angrily declared, wanting to capture Jiang Yang. As he spoke, several powerful Elders rushed to surround Jiang Yang.
“Stop—” Zhao Yi’s attempt to stop them was hindered by an Ancestor in the Sacred Noble Realm, who snorted and moved towards her. He planned to treat her as a traitor.
Now that the Immortal had died in the Sky Pool of Death, the situation in the Sky Domain had changed. Many factions got affected by this, waiting for their chance to attack. The first target was, of course, Celestia Holy Land. Everyone knew that the Dark Upheaval had been caused primarily by them, and handing over Jiang Yang could calm everyone down while allowing them to relax.
“Expel me?” Coldness flashed across Jiang Yang’s gaze. He didn’t think that they were brave enough to do so.
The Archbishop’s order contained large amounts of power, and it rang out of the palace to echo through the sky. Everyone was in shock, confusion and understanding after hearing this. Expelling Jiang Yang meant that the Celestia Holy Land was going to compromise.
As the Dark Upheaval took place, many factions had gathered outside since it had become the centre of attention.
“I see. They are smart enough to know what to do now,” sneered a muscled person with horns. He was also in the Sacred Noble Realm, the master of a Mystic Mountain.
Crowds of people gathered in the sky, resembling dark clouds stirring in the distance and ready to rain disaster upon the Celestia Holy Land.
“Hand the disciple over, or you will be destroyed where you stand!” The master declared, voice as loud as thunder and instilling fear in anyone that heard it.
On another side, beings from the Forbidden Areas and Masters from each Mystic Mountain appeared. Their aura spread through the air in waves, their blood pumping as they prepared to ambush the place.
Everyone’s focus was on the place right now, and the Archbishop’s words had announced his stand on the matter.
“Jiang Yang was expelled from Celestia Holy Land?” Yue Mingkong’s expression was calm yet serious as she appeared on a mountain. Even though she was far away from the place, she could see everything that happened clearly. Behind her, terrifying spirits covered in either jewels or runes prostrated themselves. Their existence bent the Principles of the world.
If any other person were here, their eyes would widen in fear. All these people were terrifying beings from the Mystic Mountains and Forbidden Areas, yet there they were, kneeling before a woman. It was a shocking sight!
“This isn’t enough. Unless Jiang Yang utilises all his techniques, it will be hard for him to escape,” she said mildly. She knew the history between Jiang Yang and the Prime Ancestor of the Celestia Holy Land, so she would never underestimate him. Besides, she also understood how special and important his Symbol of Reincarnation was. Killing him might be slightly difficult, but she could use her skills to take his means away.
The Celestia Holy Land had cut their connection to Jiang Yang, something she had expected; they would never antagonise the rest of the Domain for a mere disciple after all. Her skills in framing others were all learned from Gu Changge himself; while these skills might not be as great as his, it was already enough to put pressure on Jiang Yang.
After receiving her order, the powerful experts all rose to their feet and sped towards the border of the Celestia Holy Land. It was a large group of Sacred Noble Realm experts, exuding a terrifying aura.
“Hand over that disciple, or this place will be destroyed!” The call came from outside the border, accompanied by the crowd’s murderous intents. Many disciples of the Celestia Holy Land became pale with fear as they anticipated a bloodbath.
*Boom!*
An expert in the Sacred Noble Realm raised his palm and slammed it downwards onto the Celestia Holy Land. Runes spread throughout the air, transforming into powerful Principles. It was as if the sky had collapsed and was going to fall onto the ground. The Grand Protective Array of the mountain soon made a loud cracking sound.
A powerful beam of Sacred Noble energy shot out from the ground just in time to block the attack, preventing it from descending and destroying the Array. It was an awe-inducing scene, as the energy felt outside the Land was almost strong enough to destroy an ancient star. The cultivators could sense a piercing ray of light containing the power of Principles, which then exploded. It was as if the sun had exploded, filling the skies with blinding white light. The void seemed to break with the impact.
The opposing forces witnessed this from the shadows, and were filled with fear and awe.
“Oh, no! The Grand Protective Array has cracked!” The disciples within the Celestial Holy Land were stunned by what they saw. The emotion was soon replaced by fear and desperation, as the opposing armies of experts soon invaded this supposed pure and holy land.
Not long after, the place was overrun by murderous and dissatisfied growls. The Divine Island was reduced to piles of soil and collapsed buildings. Runes hovered everywhere and the smell of blood lingered as the chaos continued. Buildings and structures were reduced to ruins as sounds of fighting came from all over the mountain.
Everyone in Celestia Holy Land began cursing Jiang Yang internally. Why had he invited all this trouble and forced them into this predicament where they could lose their lives?
“Jiang Yang deserves to die. Send him outside so we can pacify the leaders of the Mystic Mountains and Forbidden Areas! I’m not going to die with him!”
“Jiang Yang, why can’t you just die?”
“Kick him out of this place, so no one has to die with him!”
The occupants began shouting in fury, as feelings of hatred emanated from each corner of the land.
“Well, since you are so insistent, there is no need for Celestia Holy Land to exist any longer!” Jiang Yang’s expression became cold as he watched people coming to attack him. He had planned on giving them a final chance, going to the Sky Pool of Death as soon as he had forced their enemies into retreating. But now, they were opposing him.
It was the first time he had faced such an issue in all his lifetimes. When he finished speaking, he began to conjure with his hands. His technique shone brightly from under his palms, resembling raindrops of light which came together with the aura of the Great Dao.
Celestia Holy Land began to shake as something seemed to awaken beneath the ground. Earth energy rushed in from different directions and transformed into powerful worldly energy, which Jiang Yang could utilise.
“What?”
“What’s happening? How did Jiang Yang’s talent become so powerful?”
“How is this possible? How could he use the Celestial Seal? This—”
The Elders of Celestia Holy Land, including the Celestial Archbishop, looked stricken as they reeled from the shock of seeing Jiang Yang’s technique. They felt cold with fear and quivered as they sensed intense danger. They were almost forced into prostrating themselves under the pressure of the aura, which could crush them!
*Boom!* Another terrifying aura, powerful enough to destroy the world, appeared from deep within Celestia Holy Land. A large, crystal-clear seal rose from the ground, dripping with Chaos Qi which then transformed into the might of someone in the Sacred Emperor Realm.
Using his backup energy, Jiang Yang once again activated the Celestial Seal. Its power now was much more terrifying than the last time it had been activated.
“This i-is the Celestial Seal—”
“How could this be possible?”
“Who are you? How could you make use of it so easily? Even someone in the Sacred Noble cannot activate it so easily!”
Leaders of the Mystic Mountains, as well as those from the Forbidden Areas, were shocked as they had not anticipated this. They did not know who Jiang Yang was, but they hadn’t asked for an explanation when the woman from the Upper Realm ordered his death. How did he manage to wield that technique? This scene, of course, also surprised others who did not belong to this world.
After hearing this, Jiang Yang rose to the sky, looking down at the enemies surrounding Celestia Holy Land with calm condescension. “How dare the likes of you attack me? Everyone here will be destroyed! What right do all of you have to doubt me?”
He didn’t want to explain himself any further and so took this chance to make everyone understand this, he was no weakling, and no one could bully him any longer. After saying his piece, he raised his hand. The terrifying earth energy rose to become a surge of power rushing into the Celestial Seal. It was the culmination of millions of years of Fortuity and earth energy for the place, and now all of it was currently being used up.
[Good. He’s using this technique now, huh? I don’t think he will have any more reserves left. Once they’ve all been exhausted, I will have a greater chance of killing him. At least he didn’t return to the Upper Realm. Seems like the techniques he could use in the Heavenly Star Realm are limited.] Yue Mingkong watched this unfold calmly from a distance, thoughts going through her mind. She wasn’t shocked by this, but everything felt a little suspicious. Her plots and strategies for Jiang Yang had panned out a little too well, giving her the sense that someone was assisting her somewhere.
How else could she explain the accident before? Was it a coincidence that Jiang Yang had come for the appointment and misidentified her as the Successor for the Mortal Palace? She didn’t think he would be so gullible.
She immediately thought of Gu Changge. [Did he keep track of my movements, then follow me into the Lower Realm? That mysterious Immortal from before, it now seems more likely to be the case…]
[Did he come to the Wonder Domain first, to unify the forces there, then use the recruitment of disciples as an excuse to find the Mortal One’s reincarnation? But, if so, there is a huge hole in this logic. If he was that Immortal, why didn’t he immediately get rid of Jiang Yang when he came to Celestia Holy Land but allowed him to live?] Yue Mingkong thought. She believed she had either thought too much of this or had not taken something else into account. Besides, she refused to believe that he had died at the Sky Pool of Death unless she had seen it herself.
“This is bad! He’s planning to kill everyone here, including us! How vicious!”
“Why can he activate the Celestial Seal?”
As for those within Celestia Holy Land, they realised what would happen and became pale with fear. They were filled with desperation, terror, and disbelief. Bright divine light emitted from the Celestial Seal, making it shine with a blinding intensity.
“You all asked for this,” Jiang Yang said coldly. As he spoke, the Sacred Imperial Seal appeared on his palm, the beams of light entangling. It looked to be the only source of colour in the place. Everyone became further stricken with terror, feeling only desperation, hate, and regret.
“Something horrendous is about to happen. The Celestia Holy Land’s Sacred Emperor Grade weapon has been released! It’s going to kill us all!”
“He must be insane! He’s not even letting Celestia Holy Land live; he wants to destroy everyone inside, including all his Elders!”
Pale with fear, the invading force fled into the distance, not wanting to be swept up in the onslaught.
*Boom!* In the next moment, anyone that blocked Jiang Yang’s way was blasted to pieces, no matter how powerful they were. Everything within range was crushed into powder. The sight horrified those in the Sacred Noble Realm, witnessing from far away. They watched in shock as the Celestial Seal blasted out the might of the Sacred Emperor Realm, which destroyed everything in sight, decimated every member of the opposing invaders, and made the earth shake.
Even the place where Celestia Holy Land had stood for millions of years, was reduced to nothing, as its disciples and Elders reduced to dust from the power of the Sacred Emperor Grade artifact rampaged on.
This attack left many horrified. How many enemies did he kill, and why hadn’t he allowed Celestia Holy Land to live?
“He did escape after all…” Runes flickered within Yue Mingkong’s eyes, her Sacred Emperor Grade artifact was shining behind her as she withstood the aftershocks. She snuck into the former site of the Celestia Holy Land. However, there was no sight of Jiang Yang anywhere. He had obviously left immediately after the destruction of his enemies.
As for where he was headed, Yue Mingkong had several guesses. She couldn’t help but laugh at how Jiang Yang had destroyed his own home. He truly was the Mortal One, who would destroy his enemies and home using cruel and decisive ways. Since he had now lost his best asset, the act equivalent to cutting off one of his own arms.
She couldn’t help but think of going to the Sky Pool of Death as well. She didn’t believe he had any further reserves now that he no longer had the help of the Celestia Holy Land.
The news regarding the eradication of Celestia Holy Land and its history shocked those in the Sky Domain. All the experts from the Mystic Mountains and Forbidden Areas present had been massacred too, and this struck fear into the massesHowever, they had only been there as cannon fodder to deplete Jiang Yang’s energy reserves. Even if they hadn’t died, Yue Mingkong would have devised several other ways to get rid of them and cover her tracks.
The method he had used to activate the Celestial Seal was unknown to everyone. It was truly an irony that the Sacred Emperor Grade artifact left by their Prime Ancestor had destroyed his own Sect.
…
Somehow, something was happening as the energy of Celestia Holy Land began to shift due to that incident. Change in the Fortuity of the Heavenly Star Realm was the most obvious phenomenon and Gu Changge, deep inside the Sky Pool of Death, felt this instantly.
<Ding! Jiang Yang, the Fortuituous One, has fallen out with Celestia Holy Land!…>
<Ding! The Fortuituous One has destroyed Celestia Holy Land!…>
Along with the numerous notification rings, he had received a lot of Jiang Yang’s Fortuity. It had been Yue Mingkong behind all this, but changes in her Fortuity would be linked to him since she was with him.
His Fortuity was now at 20,000 and his Fatums was at 100,000. Jiang Yang truly was one of the best, with an absurdly high amount of Fortuity. It had continued to increase as Jiang Yang began displaying more of his cards but had also been greatly depleted till it was now at a new low.
For Gu Changge, he only needed one more straw to break the camel’s back. Under normal circumstances, Celestia Holy Land would have become the bouncing board for the Mortal One’s growth, providing him with some security. Now, he had destroyed it himself, damaging himself in the process.
“Yue Mingkong has saved me some effort. She’s smarter than before, using great power to pressure someone and buying me some more time.” Gu Changge smiled, still sitting on the World Purifying Green Lotus. He planned to cultivate himself to the point of consuming it.
The Lotus held Worldly Power, and Gu Changge had managed to devour its terrifying power with his Demonic Heart. All his cells were already transforming; in the end, each one contained a vast ancient universe, powerful enough to bind anything. Such a physique allowed him to contain the power of the Mortal One’s multiple lives. That was why the Mortal One had plotted for so long, spending a lot of energy on this. With such a physique, Gu Changge didn’t have to worry about handling anything.
He was taking advantage of such a benefit now. His physical strength was great, but not to the point of being the greatest of all time. With the World Purifying Green Lotus, his power would be elevated to another terrifying level.
…
Several days pass.
The area outside of the Sky Pool of Death was mountainous and covered many tall ancient trees. An older and younger woman rushed towards it, the younger clad in a simple dress. Her features were elegant and flawless, while her expression was determined. It was Yao Yao, with her grandma beside her.
After leaving Celestia Holy Land, the both of them had come all the way here without stopping to rest. Without the battleship and flying boats, their pace had been much slower. So, it had taken them several days to get here.
Yao Yao just wanted to verify whether her master was alive or dead. Even if he was already dead, she would find the body so she could bury it. She watched the mountain range, covered in a layer of fog. Her face went pale and she could feel her heart stutter.
The place within 5 kilometres of them was quiet, with no sign of life. The Sky Pool of Death looked precarious, obvious that her journey was going to be extremely arduous.
“Master’s in there. I must not be afraid. He said I am strong, so I must go in to find him!” Yao Yao muttered to herself, clenching her hands into fists and motivating herself so she did not get scared.
“Yao Yao, you’re really here. Why did you come to this place? I’ve been searching for you all this time. You disappeared before I returned to the Celestia Holy Land, and no one had informed me of where you went. You’ve made me worried.” Just as Yao Yao was deciding on a method of entry, she heard a familiar voice. Grandma Yin Hua, who had been on guard beside her, was suddenly covered with goosebumps due to her fear.
Footsteps rang out as Jiang Yang emerged from behind a large boulder, with Zhao Yi behind him. He looked at her with surprise and concern, happy to find her as he had guessed she would rush here in search of her Master. His expression wasn’t fake either, as he didn’t care about the destruction of Celestia Holy Land. It was nothing compared to this place, and Yao Yao.
