Lu Luo and the others from the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains, who were outside Gourd Valley, had all sensed the astounding quakes coming from within. Rocks rolled down and mountain ranges collapsed to form great ravines.

Judging by the recent phenomena, Lin Wu most likely had acquired the mysterious gourd which had belonged to the Spirit Gourd Master. Otherwise, the murderous energy suffusing the place wouldn’t dissipate so easily. However, this made them uncomfortable and panicky. Since Gu Changge hadn’t killed them, he definitely had other plans for them. He might use this to threaten Lin Wu into handing over the mysterious gourd. They couldn’t think of other purposes Gu Changge since he had left them alive.

Not only Lu Luo had thought of this; the others turned pale as they came to that conclusion. Grandma Lu Cui and the other Elders frowned soberly since they were weaker than him and would thus find it difficult to escape even if they combined their efforts. Their only final resort was to harness the energy from the stars outside the domain to both destroy this space and bury Gu Changge here.

However, no one honestly wanted to die. Who would want to sacrifice themselves for no reason when it wasn’t a critical moment? Would Lin Wu want to give up the mysterious gourd after going through all that trouble to get it?

“Will the person you call Lin Wu be willing to give that gourd in exchange for your lives?” Gu Changge’s eyes landed on the collapsing valley, his voice sounding intrigued.

The group from the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains froze as Gu Changge seemingly confessed his intention. Their resolve was wavering now; would Lin Wu be willing to exchange the gourd for their lives and was it worth it? Lu Luo and the others knew him and his character well, and he would never disregard their survival.

However, when it came to the principles of their side, it wouldn’t be up to Lin Wu. The Immortal-Killing Gourd didn’t just belong to Lin Wu but to the entire Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains. If it fell into Gu Changge’s possession, he as well as all of them would be considered traitors by everyone else. To many cultivators, their lives weren’t as important as the Immortal-Killing Gourd.

“The Immortal-Killing Gourd is a precious treasure which belongs to the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains. Don’t think about stealing it. Dream on; we will rather die than yield to your wishes.” Many from the older generation had realised Gu Changge’s dangerous intention and couldn’t help but complain. They looked reluctant to surrender in the face of death and besides, Gu Changge clearly intended for them to fall into disarray when he said that. Once they fell apart, what did they have to fight against him?

“Oh, really? All of you can die then.” Gu Changge eyed them and struck them with his palm.

Runes unwound and vibrations swept through the air, making those who had made the claim turn pale as they attempted to fight back. However, all their newly activated techniques almost immediately fell apart. They were all crushed and their bodies exploded as they died, filled with regret and desperation. They hadn’t expected Gu Changge to be so cruel and decisive, since it had merely been uttered to maintain their dignity and not because they were brave. However, Gu Changge had not cared either way and immediately struck them dead.

Lu Luo and the others turned pale.

Gu Changge smiled carelessly. “Do you think you can escape this place alive? The Immortal-Killing Gourd will fall into my possession, so what’s the point of resisting?”

Everyone went white, fear and anger stirring within them. Some members of the young generation even looked desperate; they had no qualms about dying on the battlefield while fighting their peers, but they were far too inferior compared to Gu Changge and dying in such a humiliating way made them feel dissatisfied. They forgot one thing, though; they were of a similar age as Gu Changge.

*Boom!*

Waves of energy suddenly came from the distant sky as rainbows shot through the sky and landed right there. The group was led by several Elderly people with accomplished cultivation and powerful vitality, who looked far more formidable than the youths. They all looked ancient and included humans and members of other races; all of them belonged to the forces of the Upper Realm.

“That’s—”

“Why is Young Master Changge here?”

They immediately recognised Gu Changge as soon as they arrived, which shocked them immensely. They couldn’t believe this. The young men and women behind him were taken aback as well. They hadn’t expected to see Gu Changge in the flesh after coming from billions of kilometres away, since he was like a mythical religious being in the eyes of the young generation.

“Greetings, Young Master Changge.” They didn’t care what had happened and bowed towards Gu Changge in unison.

Song Yunfei, who was standing amongst the group, was astonished. All of them had merely heard about him from stories and had never seen him before. He had even heard that their Sect Master, Chu Hao having disagreements with Gu Changge in the past and ended up losing against the other man. After returning to Supreme Cave Heaven, Chu Hao had painstakingly cultivated in isolation before finally reaching the Sacred Emperor Realm.

Song Yunfei just didn’t understand something. [Didn’t the rumours say that he had disappeared after the hunt for the Demoness? Why had he appeared in the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains and specifically right here in this so called Void Realm?]

“Changge.” A woman in blue blinked once, gaze full of surprise and delight as she approached him. Gu Changge turned around with some surprise after hearing her speak. After studying her, he now recalled her indistinctly.

“Sister Yingshuang.” The woman in blue was the granddaughter of the Third Elder of the Immortal Gu Family and knew Gu Changge well since they were both direct descendants of the same family. It had to be noted that she was slightly older than him.

Gu Yingshuang bit her lip and smiled, her eyes forming crescents. “Why are you here?”

Her face couldn’t help turning red at the sight of him. She couldn’t help but remember Gu Changge from when he had returned from the Lower Realm before. He hadn’t been made to be the Young Master back then and he had been extremely insolent, cold, and formidable. He had challenged all the young prodigies of the family to a fight where everyone took on him at once, yet all of them lost.

Gu Changge had stepped on her face then, not moving his foot despite her eyes brimming with tears. His coldness and forcefulness had made a deep impression on her. While she had been furious due to her youth back then, she had gotten over it as she grew older. Gu Changge’s strength had improved to the point where none of them could even catch sight of him; he would definitely inherit the status as the Head of the Immortal Gu Family soon enough. Thus, she no longer cared about those antics and assumed that he had long forgotten about that event.

“I heard about the terrible war between the Upper Realm and the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains, so I came to have a look.” Gu Changge smiled, not expecting to see someone from the Gu Family there.

Gu Yingshuang walked to his side and looked at Lu Luo and her group curiously. Her gaze lingered on Lu Luo who had been thrown at his feet. “Are they the young prodigies of the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains?”

She could sense the strength emanating from the group of youths.

He nodded. “Based on their strength, I guess we could consider them young prodigies.”

Song Yunfei and the others were shocked and glanced at the group; they hadn’t even noticed them yet. Besides, the experts of the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains whom they had met before were here as well and did not dare act recklessly.

“It may be because of Young Master Changge that they did not dare make any thoughtless moves.” A skinny and tanned elderly man couldn’t help but snigger as he glanced meaningfully around at Lu Luo and her group. Grandma Lu Cui and the rest all fell silent, their hearts sinking.

“I don’t know if you’ve seen our counterparts from Supreme Cave Heaven. Our Sect Master has brought people here to look for precious treasures belonging to our sect. However, we had not seen any trace of it.” Song Yunfei suddenly spoke up, glancing around. He had mistaken the explosion of light to be the appearance of one of the treasures belonging to his sect and so came frantically. Sadly, he didn’t catch sight of the Sect Master Chu Hao or the other Elders, which puzzled him.

“You’re a disciple of Supreme Cave Heaven?” Gu Changge looked at him without any change in his expression.

Song Yunfei wasn’t brave enough to look him in the eye but nodded, not knowing why Gu Changge had asked that. “Yes. I don’t know if you have spotted my Sect Master and the others here.”

“I did.” Gu Changge nodded.

Song Yunfei looked delighted and couldn’t help asking, “Young Master Changge, I hope you can tell me where they are then—”

“They have all been killed by me,” Gu Changge answered carelessly, his tone light.

“What? Young Master Changge, are you joking?” Song Yunfei’s expression stiffened, unable to believe what he was hearing. The Sect Master of Supreme Cave Heaven was killed by Gu Changge. How was that possible?

Gu Yingshuang and the others looked disbelieving as well, their eyes wide with astonishment.

“They’ve all been killed by me.” Gu Changge glanced neutrally at Song Yunefei as he repeated his answer. There wasn’t any inflection in his tone, as if he was discussing something trivial and unrelated to him.

“The Sect Master of Supreme Cave Heaven, Chu Hao, was into cahoots with the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains in order to attempt something evil, so he was killed by me. Do you have any complaints?”

“N-no.” Song Yunfei’s voice shook. The boy felt cold and couldn’t help a shiver. His mind was blank and filled with static. He was sceptical about it but didn’t feel like Gu Changge would lie to him. It had only been a short time, yet their Sect Master and a group of experts including several Elders had been slain by Gu Changge. The shockwaves it would elicit when it reached the outside world would be violent.

Who knew if Gu Changge’s accusation that the group had cooperated with the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains were true? He could just accuse them of anything he wanted without worrying about what he claimed. Lu Luo and the rest had witnessed the entire event where Gu Changge killed Chu Hao. When had Chu Hao cooperated with the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains? The claim was baseless and Gu Changge was merely framing Chu Hao.

The group from the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains became stricken and fell silent, not daring to protest or question him. The sight sent a chill down their spines and they were nearly suffocating from the waves of fear and desperation. What kind of power did Gu Changge have that made everyone so afraid?

“Why? Do you know him?” Gu Changge asked after seeing a slight shift in Gu Yingshuang’s expression.

She shook her head and smiled. “He’s just a toad who tried to gain favour with our family.”

Song Yunfei became paler at her cruel and honest description. Hate and anger simmered within his gaze although he did not dare show it and looked dejected. The other Upper Realm young prodigies distanced themselves from him, standing slightly far away.

“You—”

Just then, a windswept figure suddenly appeared at the entrance of Gourd Valley. It was Lin Wu, who had gone in to get the Immortal-Killing Gourd. He looked winded and had sustained some injuries, showing how difficult the journey had been. The gaze he directed towards Gu Changge was full of shock and his expression turned stony when he saw Lady Lu Luo sprawled at his feet.

All past and current grievances rose within him and he clenched his fists. Gu Changge had come here when he was in Gourd Valley and bound everyone; it was what he could discern from the sight awaiting him.

“Lin Wu—” Lu Luo, Huo Rong, and the other young prodigies of the Eight Wastelands and Ten Domains looked slightly stricken. They were worried that he would act recklessly. With the Immortal-Killing Gourd, it would be hard to deal with Lin Wu as a normal cultivator even if he couldn’t fully control its power yet. They might have a chance at survival if he utilised it just a bit.

Lin Wu soon calmed down and stared at Gu Changge. “Let them go. Just target me if you want anything.”

Gu Changge looked at him with interest. “You seem to have a lot of hatred for me.”

“You killed my older brother and I cannot let you live,” Lin Wu bit out, his expression icy and full of unconcealed hatred.

Gu Changge shook his head. “Who is your brother? I don’t remember killing someone like him. If I accidentally killed him by stepping on him, that’s another matter entirely.”

“You—” Lin Wu was filled with helpless rage. He didn’t think Gu Changge wouldn’t know who his brother was. To the other man, the event was like crushing an ant to death, so he wouldn’t even recall who he had killed.

    1. Well, his cultivation method encourages murdering people, the stronger – the better, his prior life as wage slave upgraded to current god-like entity encourages success, the system encourages torturing and crushing the “chosen ones”, and additionally allows him to treat them as NPCs, which is also encouraged by his alter ego as demon prince reborn. Author went out of his way to justify making him as villainous as possible, without the usual 2D quality villains tend to attain.
