The Ancient Sky Domain was large and incomparably vast. Even if it had appeared in this world for half a month, no cultivator could find any signs of a residence. Instead, there were lots of ruins that collapsed in different places along with many tattered corpses, which had various ancient patterns imprinted on their decayed clothes. These corpses seemed to have died in a strange way. Some looked like they committed suicide while some looked as though they were killed by their companion. In some of the ruins, many murals and patterns were preserved. There were even some writings that recorded the things that happened in this secret realm.
After studying these patterns for a few days, some older cultivators who had studied ancient culture finally came up with shocking news that made cultivators from all sides tremble in fear.
“This secret realm harbors great opportunities, but at the same time, it also contains great terrors!”
“The master of this secret realm is a Supreme Being with a vastly ancient origin that can be traced back to millions of years…”
[A Supreme Being?! What kind of a concept is that?]
They only found out from a few words in the ancient records that such a being could travel through space and easily destroy an entire world, which rendered Gods useless in front of it. This discovery immediately made all the cultivators in the Ancient Sky Domain extremely excited.
[If we can find the manor of that Supreme Being and inherit its powers, does that mean our strength will rise tremendously? By then, it’ll be a piece of cake for us to reach the Beyond!]
However, moments later, the cultivators who were researching the ancient culture couldn’t help but change their expressions while feeling terrified.
With a trembling voice, they explained, “This is a land of terror. Every Life Spirit that once lived here was wiped out along with the race of the Supreme Being! That Supreme Being used all of its life force to seal the Ultimate Demon, preventing it from coming out to the world… The Ultimate Demon is the scourge of all living things. Once it is released, it will bring the destruction of the world along with all the races and Life Spirits…”
When researching the information from these cold inscriptions, they couldn’t help but feel their body shiver in the cold.
[This secret realm isn’t a great opportunity, but a place to seal evil.]
Of course, this information caused an even bigger uproar than the first one. Many of the cultivators were left startled when they first heard about it.
[What is an Ultimate Demon?]
The answer wasn’t mentioned in the stone inscriptions of the ruins, but if the master of this secret realm needed to use all their life force to seal it, it wasn’t unreasonable to assume that the demon had the power to end the world. While shivering, many of the cultivators took a step back as they felt a chill run down their spines. It wasn’t a stretch to say that the ground beneath their feet was filled with bones. What was originally a place of great opportunities had now suddenly become a living hell. Other than the people from the Ancient Sky Domain, everyone from the outside world was stunned when the news spread.
“I heard that the young man from the Beyond is heading toward the secret realm. It seems like that is the reason he came to the Nether.”
“What is the secret hidden in the secret realm? Why would someone from the Beyond come here?”
Most of the cultivators were left stunned and confused.
Soon, some cultivators realized that there was a fog drifting out from the depths of the secret realm. At first, the fog was white, but then, it started to turn gray and black, even exuding a frightening demonic nature. Because of the fog, many ferocious beasts ended up losing their spirituality and rushed out from various mountain ranges, charging towards the cultivators who entered the secret realm. Some weaker cultivators got infected with the fog and killed those around them after losing their minds too. This frightening change disrupted the peace in the Ancient Sky Domain as everyone began to retreat. Even though it was important for them to seize the great opportunity in this land, their priority was to stay alive.
Even so, there were more cultivators heading deeper into the secret realm since they believed that with every great opportunity, there would always be danger around. It was inevitable! However, they soon found out that the fog was even thicker in the depths of the secret realm, and since the land was full of danger, one would easily get lost within if they didn’t know the path. Most importantly, there were many formations and traps laid down which would lead to certain death once they were accidentally touched. Because of that, many cultivators lost their lives venturing inside the secret realm. It was no longer a land of great opportunity, but a deadly grave.
The Ancient Sky Domain was plunged into chaos.
…
“This level of demonic energy can only affect ordinary cultivators. For cultivators who have been cultivating for a long period of time, it does not work at all,” Gu Changge said casually while standing on the edge of the fog.
With a slightly longer cultivation period, one could resist the invasion of this demonic energy. To him, it was instead the purest form of nourishment, but the level of demonic energy was so thin that it would not affect him any other way. However, he was able to guess that this was all caused by the Eight Barren Demon Halberd.
[No wonder it is deemed an ultimate weapon. It is able to cause such destruction just by being awakened.]
Gu Changge was very satisfied as he looked at the center of the secret realm not far ahead. He could already feel that Ye Chen and others were inside. At the same time, the demon sat and waited while it prepared to devour the many life forces coming in.
“Prince Gu, this land is a bit odd. If you do not know your way, you’ll probably get lost inside. By the looks of it, we should be cautious with every step.” Ming Lao warned him.
Inside the secret realm, Gu Changge could also feel a terrifying force oppressing him. If he revealed his Great-Transcendent Realm aura, it would be repelled instantly. While nodding his head, he remained calm and said, “It’ll be fine. I have asked someone to leave behind a track. All of you can just follow me.” At the same time, he closed his eyes and the mark on the Mind Convergence Pill suddenly glowed, giving him a vague connection. This was the trail left along the way.
*Hum!* A faint black thread unfolded in front of Gu Changge’s eyes stretching deep into the fog from the area in front of him. This was the trail that Ye Chen left for him. If it weren’t for him, it would have been much more difficult for Gu Changge to navigate through this fog. Also, there weren’t any maps for him to find, so he would need to travel a huge circle to find the exact location, and of course, there was also the possibility of not finding anything. However, Gu Changge didn’t plan to gather a map in the first place because it was too troublesome. Wouldn’t it be much better for him to just reap the rewards of Ye Chen’s hard work?
Listening to him, Ming Lao and the others had nothing to fear.
[If Prince Gu said so, then there’s nothing to be afraid of.]
“Let’s go.”
Gu Changge took the first step forward into the fog while the large group of Great-Transcendent Realm followers around him remained vigilant of any attacks by fierce beasts. Along the way, Gu Changge naturally encountered several attacks, but they were all beasts infected by the demonic energy, so Ming Lao and the others dealt with them without him having to do anything himself. As for the other cultivators, none of them dare to lay a finger on him.
“According to Ye Chen’s trail, it’s possible to assume that the final manor is underground, and it seems like the Eight Barren Demon Halberd must be there…”
Walking in front, Gu Changge kept noticing the tracks left behind while his expression slowly showed his interest. He noticed that as long as he followed the path left by Ye Chen, the number of beasts he encountered seemed to be fewer. Even all the powerful formations and traps were almost gotten rid of by him.
[How heartwarming.]
“This is simply a road purposely cleared out for me. Ye Chen you really are a great guy…” Gu Changge couldn’t help but laugh. If Ye Chen knew what he was thinking at the moment, he would definitely be so angry that blood would spew out of his mouth.
…
Meanwhile, in the depths of the fog, Ye Chen and the others finally killed the demonic beast, opening the vast path in front of them. The ancient trees were deeply rooted with vines as high as clouds while the gray miserable air enveloped the land and sky.
“According to the map, this is the entrance…” Ye Chen was a little excited. Following the path on the map, he quickly found the entrance to the underground manor.
“Chen, it seems like your powers have improved a lot over the years,” Ye Liuli couldn’t help but exclaim, especially when he just defeated an opponent that was much stronger than him. It was even more awe-inspiring to see him slay an Intermediate Great-Transcendent Realm beast. After getting infected by the demonic energy, not only did these beasts become fearless toward death and pain, their powers had far exceeded a cultivator of the same realm as they only know how to kill. It should also be known that Ye Chen just reached the peak of the Transcendent Realm.
“Liuli, you’re too kind.” Ye Chen couldn’t help but feel a little complacent after looking at Ye Liuli’s surprised looks, but soon, something serious came up in his mind. “The inheritance of the master of the Ancient Sky Domain may be below us. We should quickly go down even though we might be followed… but just to be safe,” he said.
He was still worried that Gu Changge would show up because he would undoubtedly come to this secret realm. However, Ye Chen still hadn’t seen any trace of him at the moment, which made him a little anxious. He couldn’t help but admit that Gu Changge gave him a lot of pressure.
[Without the map, he’ll be trapped outside even if he came.]
Thinking about it, he felt much more relieved since he had the secret key in hand, which allowed him to shut off most of the traps.
[He is just a lucky boy who got all the good stuff. Other than that, how can he be compared with Prince Gu?] Xue Yi secretly scorned.
Soon, they went down the underground entrance.
“This seems like a mausoleum.” Ye Chen was a little shocked as he followed the tunnel all the way down, avoiding many of the traps along the way. Not only him, the scenery in front also shocked the rest of the group. It might look like a mausoleum, but after a closer look, it seemed more like an ancient ruin that had all kinds of infrastructures, including dilapidated temples, ancient wooden halls and mansions. It was the corner of an ancient city hidden underneath the ground!
“The demonic energy here is getting thicker and thicker. Based on the map, in the center of this ancient city, there is a palace. That is where the inheritance is…”
Ye Chen was getting a little excited inside his heart. After all, he could just go in to receive the inheritance.
*Roar!* Right at this moment, frightening roars were heard around them while pairs of bloody eyes lit up in the dark. Ye Chen’s expression changed slightly when he saw the group of fierce beasts along with some mutated corpses.
“These are all ferocious beasts of the Great-Transcendent Realm…”
[If we keep on dragging this, I don’t know what will happen. For some reason, I can feel that something is wrong. Also, isn’t Master acting a bit too calm today?]
“Chen, hurry up and go in. I’ll help you hold them back. We are running out of time…” Ye Liuli made a quick decision and said calmly. She brought many divine servants along with her, so she could help buy some time for Ye Chen to accept the inheritance.
“Okay. Hold on, Liuli. After I accept the inheritance, I’ll come out to help you all.” Listening to her, Ye Chen was extremely moved as he dashed into the ancient underground city without looking back.
The wave-like group of beasts quickly pounced forward, surrounding Ye Liuli and the others. When Ye Chen rushed deeper into the ancient underground city, Gu Changge finally showed up. Looking at the scenery in front of him, he couldn’t help but reveal a strange smile. After all, he didn’t need to deal with any beasts, traps or dangerous formations when coming here, so the trip was quite relaxing for him.

The realms seem to have been changed and/or messed up a bit again. Those cultivation novel authors should really get a bit more creative and think of unique short names for that stuff, lol. Always a pain when its like “peak super-duper-transendent mighty power rangers realm” kinda naming xD
Woot!! Excited for the next few chapters to see how this is resolved!!
Many thanks!
