“Young Master Gu.” In the palace, Yin Mei led Lin Qiuhan, Yan Ji, and the rest over. When she was looking for seats for the guests, she saw Gu Changge smilingly approaching from not far away. With a sweet smile, she said to Gu Changge, “I’ve brought them over according to your instruction.”
“Thank you.” Gu Changge walked over and slightly nodded before turning to Lin Qiuhan and Yan Ji.
Indeed, it had been quite some time since he last saw them. Besides not having the time to visit them, Gu Changge thought there was no need for him to visit them as his presence might bring harm to them instead.
He might not be a good person, but he treasured his old bonds. With so many Forces of the Upper Realm staring at him, his enemies could make a move on him anytime, and the lives of those close to him might be threatened in the process.
Although he didn’t carry deep feelings for the two women, he did not want them to be involved in the dangers of his ventures for no reason and end up losing their lives. Moreover, he wouldn’t go out of his way to dispatch additional forces to rescue them as he did for Yue Mingkong.
“Greetings, Young Master Gu.”
Yan Ji and Lin Qiuhan seemed rather awkward standing in front of Gu Changge. Although they were surprised to see Gu Changge coming to meet them, they were aware of the huge disparity between their identities and that of Gu Changge. Compared to when they first came to the Upper Realm, the disparity was much more significant now.
“Please drop the courtesy in front of me.” Gu Changge feigned a smile, his gaze as tender as ever.
In that instant, Lin Qiuhan recalled the first time she met Gu Changge.
He appeared in the grand hall of the Lin Family’s residence. He resembled a young god with his dashing features and godly postures as every part of his body glowed radiantly. Be it his speech or knowledge, he had left Lin Qiuhan so enchanted that she couldn’t pull herself out of it.
However, in a flash, Gu Changge was now the true dominator of the vast Upper Realm as he was in control of the lives of all beings. His words could decide the fate of countless Star Territories.
“Congratulations for your marriage, Young Master Gu.” Yan Ji was also somewhat dazed as all of her memories surged into her mind at once, after which she made a gesture to Gu Changge and congratulated him.
Had Gu Changge not brought her to the Upper Realm, her soul would have dispersed, and there was no way she could have reached the Sacred King Realm by now. Thus, she was more grateful than affectionate towards Gu Changge.
Gu Changge responded with a smile. After catching up with the two, he asked them about their recent lives, and then explained to Lin Qiuhan about why he never returned to visit her.
Prior to that, he instructed Lin Qiuhan to gather the methods to create the Violet Supreme Alchemy Pill so that he could use it to help those around him to grow their cultivation.
Afterwards, Lin Qiuhan had sent him a message stating that she merely discovered torn records rather than the alchemy recipe itself. And so, Gu Changge decided to give up, but little did he expect, a pleasant surprise was waiting for him.
“Some time ago, I encountered the record of the Violet Supreme Alchemy Pill in a letter from a Senior of the Violet Supreme Alchemy Sect. Perhaps the cave he died in contains pages that most likely have the recipe for the Violet Supreme Alchemy Pill,” Lin Qiuhan claimed with a smile.
When she brought up the Violet Supreme Alchemy Pill, her eyes dazzled brightly. In her eyes, Gu Changge had been taking care of her for so long, and now was the time for her to repay her debts.
“The Violet Supreme Alchemy Pill, huh? In that case, I am interested in seeing for myself how wonderful the pill that is said to help cultivators to reach the Immortal Realm is.” Gu Changge nodded.
In ancient times, within the vast territories of the Upper Realm there was a Sect that specialised in alchemy named the Alchemy Sect. The Alchemy Sect was supported by a Great Universe called the Alchemy Universe.
In later years, as the Alchemy Universe attempted to create a pill that shouldn’t exist in the world, they had faced heavenly retribution, in which chaotic lightning of the Nine Heavens struck from the depths of chaos itself for thousands of years.
And so, that Great Universe collapsed and disintegrated before completely disappearing underneath the River of Time.
Based on what Gu Changge understood, the pill that shouldn’t exist in the world was also known as Nine-Turns Violet Supreme Alchemy Pill, while the Violet Supreme Alchemy Pill which was known later was actually a simplified version of it. Still, its existence also caused major Karmic consequences as any Alchemy Sect would always get destroyed for possessing such a pill.
“In that case, I shall trouble you for the Violet Supreme Alchemy Pill’s matter, Qiuhan,” Gu Changge stated with a smile.
In response, Lin Qiuhan hastily nodded as she happily replied, “No trouble at all! It is my honour to lend you my hand, Young Master Gu.”
Later, after conversing with Yan Ji and Lin Qiuhan for a little while more, Gu Changge left them and went elsewhere.
From the hands of a servant, he grabbed a jug of wine and a cup of White Jade Wine.
“Long time no see.” He revealed a smile as he approached a lady in phoenix dress who was drinking all by herself.
The lady in phoenix dress had a marking of plum blossom on her forehead. Her face was charming, shrouded in traces of allure. That woman was none other than Empress Xi Yao.
Honestly, Gu Changge didn’t expect her to be here, and in her actual body rather than a Dharma Body at that.
“Gu Changge…” Empress Xi Yao, who was drinking alone, was stunned as she didn’t seem to expect that Gu Changge would notice her, let alone coming to see her, to which she revealed a self-mocking grin. Still, she swiftly returned to her cold, prideful self, putting up the facade of an omnipotent Demon Empress that was shrouded in an icy aura.
Back when they first knew each other in the Immortal Academy, Gu Changge was merely the greatest of the younger generation who possessed terrifying strength and unequalled Talents. Nonetheless, in her eyes, he was merely a Junior.
However, that didn’t persist until Gu Changge saw through her troubles and acknowledged how much effort she had contributed to the Demon World. Back then, Gu Changge even expressed that she could become a legendary ruler.
Thereupon, Empress Xi Yao changed her perspective on him. Rather than perceiving him as a Junior, he became a rare friend of hers, and she would tell him everything about the Demon World in letters.
She even thought that Gu Changge looked at her the same way, but after Gu Changge went to the Demon World and a series of events happened, she finally saw his true colours, and she couldn’t be anymore disappointed.
Regardless, it was undeniable that in the entirety of her life, Gu Changge was the first person to have ever entered her heart.
Before Gu Changge had left the Demon World, the two of them shared a period of pleasurable intertwining.
Nevertheless, she could tell that that period to both her and Gu Changge was merely a passing infatuation that ultimately developed into nothing, so none of them minded it.
Eventually, when she had heard of Gu Changge and Yue Mingkong’s wedding half a year prior, she found herself constantly restless as memories and thoughts would overwhelm her mind.
Though, frankly, without Gu Changge, her life now wouldn’t have taken a turn for the better, and her rule over the Demon World would have been overthrown.
After all, if it weren’t for the sudden disappearance of the Five Demon Overlords, she couldn’t have taken advantage of the situation and unite the whole Demon World.
