*Rumble!*
Chan Honyi arrived with a crowd of Demons from Devil Mountain. She was unafraid of the many ancient protective arrays as she came to the gates of the Immortal Gu Family.
The guests were thunderstruck by this. They never thought the Demoness in Red would be this fearless. After all, this was the Immortal Gu Family’s territory. Even a hidden expert with an Immortal Grade Artifact in hand would proceed with caution. No one had the gall to be this reckless.
Meanwhile, the Star Territories around the Immortal Gu Family were affected by the monstrous Demonic Energy. Stars shuddered and shook.
A terrifying aura emanated from the place where the corpse had landed. Large patches of Principles were on the verge of being destroyed.
Due to this, stars etched with arrays became ablaze with light like ancestral talismans being set on fire.
Endless waves of Divine Light burst forth like blades of light. It was as if they were about to rip the sky apart. Principles intertwined and a massive wave was channelled out.
This thunderous scene sent chills down the spines of all of the supreme experts here. No one knew where this Immortal’s corpse had come from, but there was no denying that Chan Honyi, the Demoness in Red, was terrifyingly powerful. Even the hidden experts felt uneasy.
“Such impudence! How dare you barge into the Gu Family’s territory, Demoness!?”
One of the Gu Family Ancestors growled with a dark expression as he looked on from a distance.
Although the Demoness in Red said that Gu Changge was her Master, from the looks of it, she did not come with good intentions.
They were not going to let her mess around on Gu Changge and Yue Mingkong’s wedding day.
“This is the invitation written by my Master himself. Is the Immortal Gu Family going to stop me from entering?”
Chan Honyi had a tall, willowy figure. Her face was fair and flawless. She looked like a glowing jewel as she stood at the gates and retorted coldly.
An invitation appeared in her hand. The words lifted off the invitation and hovered in the void.
It was the invitation that the Heavenly Ox Demon King received from Gu Changge on the day when many of the hidden experts headed to the Divine City to meet the Ancient Reincarnation Supreme Being.
The Gu Family Ancestors frowned when they saw the invitation in her hand. They did not expect that she had been invited over.
“Let her in, Ancestor.” Gu Changge shook his head lightly. He did not think Chan Honyi had the guts to cause a scene within the Immortal Gu Family territory.
Though she was physically far more terrifying than what the present Upper Realm could withstand, it was also true that she could not wield powers above that of the Immortal Realm.
[The only reason why she came with an Immortal’s corpse is to expose my identity and make things difficult for me. Perhaps, in her eyes, this is a way of making the Forces of the Upper Realm fear me even more. That way, they would band together to go up against me as their common enemy. Maybe, she thinks that by doing this, she’ll be able to disrupt my plans. Or, maybe she just wants to express her hatred and dissatisfaction?]
Alas, in Gu Changge’s eyes, this was mere child’s play. He was only worried about the possibility that Chan Honyi would throw caution to the wind and attack those around him with reckless abandon.
He was not at all concerned with any of her other tricks.
In fact, he could use Chan Honyi’s trickery to his benefit by diverting the negative attention onto her and having her deal with some of the annoyances on his behalf.
When it came to sheer power, even the Ancient Reincarnation Supreme Being could not hold his own against Chan Honyi in her present state. Once the environment changed and the opportunity to become an Immortal arrived, Chan Honyi could very well rip a True Immortal to pieces with her sheer physical strength alone.
After all, she possessed cultivation far surpassing the Immortal Realm at her peak back then.
Gu Changge did not intend to deal with Chan Honyi right away. It had an effect on his many plans. Furthermore, sealing her up within the Demon-Burying Abyss had also been part of the Demon Lord’s plan.
As the memories came back to Gu Changge, he knew even more clearly what he had to do.
The arrival of the Immortal Path was also part of the plan.
“This disciple has come to offer a congratulatory toast on the day of her Master’s wedding. You don’t mind, right, Master?”
Chan Honyi smirked coldly as she entered the gates.
However, all the Demons behind her did not join her. They, with all their Demonic Energy, glittering scales, and terrifying auras, remained outside the gates of the Immortal Gu Family.
All of the guests felt fearful as they watched the Demoness in Red cut across the islands and mountains to enter the main hall where the wedding ceremony was being held. She did not rein in her alarming Demonic Energy. Instead, it swept across everyone and crushed them like ocean waves lapping against the shore.
Many of the weaker cultivators felt as if their souls were about to explode, and their physical bodies were in far worse shape.
“She is so arrogant…”
The experts from the various Forces were sporting grim expressions. Even the True Daoists were frowning uneasily.
The leaders of Sky Emperor Mountain, Endless Fire Kingdom, and Purple Cloud Valley had complicated expressions. Their eyes flickered with thought.
Everyone knew how powerful the Demoness in Red was, but no one knew what the grudge between her and Gu Changge was.
She even addressed him as Master. Though there was some conflict between them, in the eyes of these old cultivators, these two had to have an even deeper relationship.
Hatred often stemmed from love.
After all, despite knowing how dangerous it would be, Chan Honyi had chosen to attend her Master’s wedding and cause a spectacle. Why would she do this if she did not care about him in some way? In their eyes, the Demoness in Red seemed to be doing this in a blatant attempt to get his attention.
Still, no one knew if the two would be able to overcome their conflict.
Gu Changge being the reincarnation of some Absolute Being from the Forbidden Epoch was now an unequivocal truth. As of now, he had the support of his Master, the Ancient Reincarnation Supreme Being, and was unfathomably powerful himself too. If he gained the help of the Demoness in Red as well…
Not a single Force in the Upper Realm would dare to stand against him anymore.
Just as the crowd within the hall were preoccupied with their mixed emotions and wild guesses…
Chan Honyi appeared inside the hall. Her gaze paused briefly on Yue Mingkong before they settled on Gu Changge. “Are you satisfied with this disciple’s generous gift, Master?”
Her lips curved with amusement as she spoke. She had expended a lot of effort to find this corpse, which was buried within the ruins of an ancient world. At least seventy per cent of its Source was still intact.
Once the Immortal Path arrived and Gu Changge reached the Immortal Realm, there was no doubt that he would immediately look for an Immortal’s Source to devour and refine.
Naturally, Chan Honyi did not expose Gu Changge’s identity as the Founder of Demonic Arts. All she wanted to see was the flustered reactions of her Master, who always remained unruffled and seemed to be in full control of everything.
That was the only way she would feel satisfied for having retaliated in some way.
“You’ve been very thoughtful.” However, to Chan Honyi’s disappointment, Gu Changge seemed to have seen right through her motives. His expression remained unchanged and his tone was as calm as ever. It was as if he did not care if even his identity as the Founder of Demonic Arts had been exposed right there and then.
