All was quiet inside the Saintess Palace. If it had not been for the feeling Gu Changge had, he would not have known that Jiang Chuchu had reached the peak of the Quasi-Nirvana Realm and was on the verge of becoming a True Daoist.
Her innate talent was indeed terrifying. Many young prodigies of her generation were still heading down the Path of the Primordial Nirvana in the hopes of gaining the opportunity to reach the Nirvana Realm.
However, despite simply cultivating in peace inside the Saintess Palace, she was able to surpass all her peers.
Even Yue Mingkong and Yao Xi, did not cultivate as quickly as Jiang Chuchu did.
Of course, it was also partly due to the Golden Fortuity Cauldron Gu Changge gave Jiang Chuchu. He had instructed her to gather the Fortuity inside the Mortal Palace to aid her cultivation.
Over the years, Gu Changge had personally guided her as well and sought out many ancient texts and scriptures that could help her with her cultivation.
“Changge…”
Jiang Chuchu was immersed in her thoughts. She delved into the Heavenly Dao Symbol as lights swirled around her. She was frowning hard as she sensed that the World Principles were somewhat lacking. She could not take the final step.
However, once she sensed the arrival of Gu Changge’s aura and could not resist opening her eyes with a look of gentle surprise. She stopped what she was doing and rose to greet him.
“The most important parts of the World Principles in this world are still missing. Others might not be able to sense it, but you should be. It is a fairly significant obstacle in your breakthrough,” Gu Changge remarked with small smile.
“Yes. In the past, cultivators who broke into higher cultivation realms did not have to worry about this. However, over the years, the environment has changed drastically, and many hidden or lost World Principles have reemerged. I can tell that I need to pass through a Heavenly Tribulation if I want to truly become a full fledge True Daoist.”
“And yet, even after all this time, I don’t sense the arrival of the Heavenly Tribulation…”
Jiang Chuchu’s eyes flashed with a troubled look. She did not hide her true feelings from Gu Changge.
“Are you here to help me, Changge?” She blinked and stared at him.
The way she saw it, whenever she was in any kind of trouble or encountered any kind of obstacle, Gu Changge would always show up no matter when or where. It had always been the case.
Gu Changge chuckled and shook his head. He pulled her into his arms. The void before them grew hazy and an endless path appeared.
The scattering of stars stretched across the vast expanse that felt like a blue ocean. A strong aura blew over from afar.
“Where is this?” Jiang Chuchu sensed that this place was filled to the brim with the World Principles. One in which the Upper Realm could not compare with.
“This is the border of the Upper Realm. Those barriers in the distance are the world barriers of the other True Worlds, as well as the tattered and fragmented ancient universes from Ancient Epochs. Only those of the highest cultivation realm can break through them…”
Gu Changge explained casually.
“Other True Worlds?”
Jiang Chuchu was a little taken aback. She did not know much about the secrets of Mountains and Oceans True World. All she knew was that she had to become a True Daoist to have the opportunity of becoming a True Immortal and entering the Immortal Domain.
“You’ll understand these things in the future. Just focus on your Heavenly Tribulation for now.”
Gu Changge smiled and did not explain any further. He brought Jiang Chuchu here because he wanted her to break into the Nirvana Realm in a perfect environment.
He only told a handful of people such as Yue Mingkong and Yin Mei about the situation with the Immortal Domain and Mountains and Oceans True World.
Gu Changge planned to wait for a suitable time before he told the others such as Jiang Chuchu and Gu Xian’er.
Their cultivation realms were still too low. They had not reached the Immortal Realm yet.
The low cultivation they possessed were nowhere near enough for the day when the Upper Realm and the Immortal Domain became one again.
Therefore, Gu Changge did not plan on allowing the Upper Realm and Immortal Domain to fully reestablish the connection just yet. It was partly due to his considerations for such matters.
The cultivation levels of the ones beside him were still too low. He had even fewer people he could rely on.
Although many followers with great potential had been gathered through Dark Heaven, including the Fortuitous Ones of various worlds, they had not been given enough time to grow, so they had not truly risen up yet.
The Immortal Selection List could only serve to build up an army of Death Knights, who were comparable to True Immortals. However, they were not actual True Immortals. As it was, Gu Changge no longer placed a whole lot of importance on the Immortal Selection List.
[I still need to gather a group of Immortals to be my subordinates…] Gu Changge shook his head. While he was thinking, Jiang Chuchu had flown over to the vast river of stars.
She sat cross-legged and calmness soon overtook her exquisite features. She swiftly entered a meditative state, with the Great Dao swirling around her.
“Chuchu does indeed possess remarkable talent…” Gu Changge was taken aback. She was able to enter a meditative state far more quickly than many other peerless young prodigies.
As Jiang Chuchu sat and cultivated, the horizon began to change.
World Principles weaved together, and a sea of lightning gathered with terrifying echoes of thunder. It was as if a ferocious Dragon was about to come over and destroy the world.
A divine light seemed to emerge in the centre of her brows and a hazy palace hovered in all its majesty. These all gave Jiang Chuchu an air of saintliness, making her look ethereal and unblemished.
“That forbidden mysterious palace seems to be life bound to Chuchu. Just what is her background? Which era is she related to?”
Gu Changge glanced at her, but he did not ponder any further. He was not worried about anything mishaps occurring.
Many months later, the Dao Energy in this area was so concentrated that it was as if it would burst at any time. The door to the Path of Nirvana appeared in the void.
Jiang Chuchu was about to undergo her Heavenly Tribulation. She stood up and gazed at the sea of lightning with impossibly calm eyes.
All manner of flight flashed amongst the terrifying lightning. It had a threatening aura of destruction. The eternal lightning seemed to want to cut through everything.
The moment the Heavenly Tribulation arrived, all of the Upper Realm seemed to sense it. It was an aura, which had not shown up for countless years now. Exclamations of shock rang out everywhere.
Many Forces reacted in shock.
Many of the young prodigies who chose to tread the Path of the Primordial Nirvana were also stunned to their core. Their eyes widened in disbelief.
“Who has managed to accomplish it before me? How can they be undergoing a Heavenly Tribulation already?”
Many young prodigies could not accept this. They felt as if they had fallen behind.
Nevertheless, the arrival of the Heavenly Tribulation left many feeling excited. They thought it represented the flourishing ancient times. They would have the chance to move on to higher cultivation realms.
Since Gu Changge was here, Jiang Chuchu did not have to worry about others interrupting the process. She could focus fully on the Heavenly Tribulation.
At this moment, she seemed like an otherworldly being as her white robes fluttered in the air and her hair danced. It was as if she were an almighty Immortal Empress.
The sea of lightning roared as Celestial Light streaked across the void and filled this part of the universe. The Upper Realm rocked in response.
Though she coughed up blood, her eyes gleamed with divinity as she resisted with all her strength.
Jiang Chuchu’s Tribulation was terrifying. Lightning filled the void as a myriad of Daos exploded around her in all its dazzling grandeur. They had the terrifying power that could destroy everything.
However, this was her own Tribulation. She had to overcome it herself.
Even though the Heavenly Secrets here were chaotic and the Dao Principles grew hazy, it was enough for Jiang Chuchu. She was optimistic about forming the flawless body of a True Daoist.
Her Tribulation lasted many months. All kinds of terrifying lightning fell, and even powerful figures from ancient times charged towards her with divine weapons in hand.
However, she was formidable. Her brows gleamed and the hazy forbidden mysterious palace seemed to solidify in the void to block all the lightning from the tribulation.
*Boom!*
Following the final streak of forceful lightning, the sound of the Great Dao echoed across the entire world, ripping space apart and shooting straight up into the sky!
At that very moment, it seemed as though this light made of Dao became the only thing visible. Many living beings were trembling in fear as the light shot through the sky so high that it seemed to tower above everything in existence.
A new kind of Dao was being born. It was powerful and mysterious, and it contained the massive power of enlightenment.
Jiang Chuchu peacefully survived her Heavenly Tribulation and became the second person after Gu Changge to do so in this era. She was now in the Nirvana Realm, also known as a True Daoist.
She would not have been able to draw upon the Heavenly Tribulation if she had not been here at the world barriers.
Gu Changge’s Dao dominated all other Daos of the Upper Realm. As such, no one in the Divine Empire could attract a Heavenly Tribulation unless they were powerful enough to break through his suppression. In other words, if they were not in the Upper Realm, they would not be constrained and could face Heavenly Tribulation.
Cloaked in white, Jiang Chuchu’s tall and slender figure sat cross-legged in the void as she took in the many Principles around her.
The silvery light of the stars gathered as the essence of the universe surged. They were all hers to take.
Her aura kept growing more powerful until she was able to exude the pressure of a True Daoist.
“In the coming years, many more cultivators in the Upper Realm will become True Daoists…”
In contrast to the reactions of everyone else in the Upper Realm, Gu Changge saw the future of the Upper Realm through the burst of surging Fortuity.
The golden era was upon them, and the Nirvana Realm was no longer the limiting threshold for the cultivators.
[Perhaps Qingyi took this into consideration as well.] Gu Changge could not help but think to himself as he decided his next step.
The Upper Realm seemed peaceful, but that was not the case. The surge in Fortuity was bound to attract the attention of the other True Worlds.
It would take many more epochs before the Mountains and Oceans True World could truly regain its former glory. It only had few Immortal Kings, let alone Immortal Emperors, who were the ones who truly determined the power of a True World.
Some of these True Worlds had given birth to Transcendents before. They possessed unimaginable might and had long since embarked on the journey of swallowing up other True Worlds.
After taking Jiang Chuchu back to the Divine Empire, Gu Changge entered retreat and remained in isolation for many years. He only woke up once when the Sky Deer Goddess reached the threshold of the Immortal Realm.
In the past, she had already been far more powerful than the average hidden expert. Now, with a steady accumulation of cultivation, she was able to reach the threshold of the Immortal Realm in only a few short years. Gu Changge was genuinely surprised.
Since he planned on testing out the Immortal Path, he brought her over there to bathe in the Immortal Principles.
The Immortal Path was connected to the Heavenly Ancient City in the Western Immortal Domain, but due to Gu Changge, the ancient city had become a Forbidden City. There was no one around for millions of kilometres around. It was an entirely desolate area.
Four Immortal Kings from the Other Domain died there. Their blood scattered all over and turned the area into a perilous place. Even True Immortals dared not roam through it, let alone other ordinary people.
