An Immortal King stood outside the destroyed Star Territories with an indifferent look on his face. His Dharmic Body enveloped the entire universe, and his eyes shone like two radiant Suns. With a powerful sweep of his giant hand, the stars burst into a fiery cascade, raining down upon the land below.
Rivers were diverted and dried up by the sheer force of his power. Divine Mountains crumbled in his wake. Places once teeming with life, ancient Star Territories now lay barren and desolate, a haunting reminder of their former glory.
When the inhabitants learned that the Immortal Kings planned to annihilate the Star Territories, everyone immediately abandoned their homes and fled. They knew that nothing would remain in the wake of the Immortal Kings’ destructive power.
Even in the distant Star Territories, other powerful Immortal Kings stood with their hands poised, ready to crush and obliterate them. The cosmos was now crumbling under the Immortal Kings’ power.
They followed Gu Changge’s instructions and scoured the remaining Star Territories they had narrowed down, forcing the remnants of the Immortal Palace to reveal themselves.
For ordinary beings, this was undoubtedly a cataclysmic event. The Immortal Kings were determined to obliterate these Star Territories and no one in the world could change their minds. As long as the Immortal Kings willed it, they could easily wipe out an entire universe with just a wave of their hand.
Amidst the chaos, the cultivators of the distant universes trembled at the thought of being caught in the ripples of destruction.
…
Meanwhile at the Wang Residence, in the Immortal Domain, Ni Chen, who had taken over Wang Wushang’s body, sat in a meditative pose in a cave. His eyes shone with a radiant light and his body was shimmering with an iridescent glow.
“It seems like they are forcing the remnants of the Immortal Palace out of hiding. Even the two Immortal Kings from the Wang Residence have taken action. This must be the prelude to a significant event.” Ni Chen rose to his feet. An aged True Immortal was already standing outside the cave respectfully, but upon closer inspection, one would notice the coldness in the depth of his eyes, which were devoid of emotion.
During this period, Ni Chen was able to successfully perform body possession on the True Immortals of the Wang Residence with the aid of exceptionally talented Seniors from the Deep Control Clan. Apart from the two Ancestors who were Immortal Kings and a few other powerful beings who were close to the Quasi-Immortal King Realm, no one in the Wang Residence could pose a threat to his safety. Furthermore, Ni Chen had relocated his Starry Sky Incarnation to the Wang Residence and it was gradually assimilating with this Star Territory. According to his plan, it would take less than a decade for him to take control of the Wang Residence.
“Maybe it’s time to go out on a journey and pay a visit to Lady Jin…” Ni Chen mused. The only person occupying his thoughts now was still Wang Zijin. Ni Chen had learned that she had been bestowed to Gu Changge by the two Immortal Kings of the Wang Family. Since then, there had been no word of her. This had left Ni Chen with a deep-seated resentment, feeling lingering concern for her safety.
After successfully taking over the bodies of the True Immortals of the Wang Residence, Ni Chen stumbled upon a vital clue. It appeared that Wang Zijin had already known Gu Changge for a long time, which explained why she was left behind at the Queen Lunar Residence.
However, the reason behind why she remained was still a mystery to Ni Chen. Nevertheless, the situation at the Wang Residence seemed to have settled down. As long as his ‘puppets’ avoided any mishaps, there was no cause for concern.
Ni Chen found himself considering the idea of venturing into the Upper Realm to reunite with Wang Zijin, the second person he dearly missed. She possessed a certain indescribable charm that Ni Chen could not put into words, setting her apart from all other women. The mere thought of spending a day without her felt like an eternity. How long had it been since he last laid eyes on her?
[Although a True Immortal’s strength will be suppressed to a fraction by the World Principles there, it’s still more than sufficient. It should not be of particular concern to me.] While Ni Chen was lost in thought, he had already departed the cave and announced his intention to embark on a journey to the Upper Realm. Since he was highly favoured by the Immortal King Ancestors, his authority in the Family was unquestionable.
The Wang Residence promptly arranged for a TransRealm Carriage to transport Ni Chen to the Upper Realm. Accompanying him on this journey was a True Immortal who claimed to be safeguarding him. In reality, Ni Chen had already taken control of this True Immortal’s physical body, rendering the latter nothing more than a puppet.
…
As Qing Feng made his way out of the Floating Nether Realm, he followed the clues that led him to the Nine Heavens. Atop a mountain, he gazed upon the chessboard before him in silence. In front of him sat a middle-aged man, dressed in pure white, exuding an otherworldly calmness. His very presence seemed to transcend the mortal Realm, and his aura was as mysterious as the brilliance of countless stars floating in the sky. He appeared almost like an enlightened Ancient Immortal.
The magnificent mountain range was a breathtaking sight, resembling the Immortal Realm that humans had always imagined. The essence of the world flowed through this place, with a mist of Primordial Chaos permeating the air.
As the sun set, even the soil radiated a warm glow, nourished by Primordial Energy. Immortal Herbs swayed in the breeze, their fragrance filling the air. The purple cliffs around them teemed with celestial plants.
A Qilin could be seen resting peacefully beside a verdant stone. Among the foggy landscape, surrounded by a thick veil of mist, birds soared in the sky. The air was imbued with the sweet aroma of ancient herbs. This was the fabled Nine Heavens, where countless had sought to reach and bask in its immortal splendour.
After being carried to this place by what appeared to be an Old White Tortoise, Qing Feng was greeted by a striking boy dressed in Daoist robes, who guided him to his destination.
Despite the boy’s youthful appearance, he was actually very old, and his eyes held the wisdom of ages past. The middle-aged man in white, whom the boy referred to as his Master, had been staring at the chessboard since Qing Feng’s arrival. Despite Qing Feng’s attempts to gain his attention, the man remained motionless for what felt like an eternity.
This left Qing Feng feeling anxious, as he had located the Nine Heavens and had to find a way to rescue the Floating Nether Realm before quickly returning.
“There is really no way to solve this…” When Qing Feng was about to lose patience, the middle-aged man in white finally snapped out of his trance and shifted his gaze from the chessboard. Before Qing Feng could speak, the middle-aged man in white cast a glance at him, his eyes seeming to hold the entire universe within their depths.
“I already know about your origins. As the only person to have truly set foot into the Nine Heavens in so many epochs, there is a certain enigma about you that piques me curiosity,” The man spoke casually, his voice sounding no different from that of an ordinary middle-aged man.
Yet Qing Feng felt like all his innermost secrets were laid bare before him, leaving nothing concealed.
Qing Feng was no ordinary individual either. He composed himself and cupped his fist respectfully. “How do I address you, Senior?” he inquired.
“How to address me? You may call me Gravekeeper,” the middle-aged man in white answered with a smile.
