The Boundless Fallen Ocean, once surging violently and shrouded in darkness, was now a serene calmness. Even Queen Lunar thought she was hallucinating earlier.
She trailed closely behind Gu Changge, standing upon the glistening golden path that led them towards the radiant Moon suspended high in the sky.
Queen Lunar was still too shaken to care about the mysterious woman who was beside Gu Changge and required some time to calm down.
The Moon resembled a boundless continent, majestically adorning the vast sky while illuminating the surroundings with its soft and luminous glow. Yet, upon closer inspection, one would notice an abundance of ethereal mist rising from the surface of the sea and drifting about. To be more precise, they were from the fragments of ancient and shattered worlds, floating amidst the rolling waves.
Gu Changge watched calmly, before reaching out to touch one of the specks of light.
“Is it really guiding the departed Souls?” He gazed up at the radiant Moon. Though it appeared within arm’s reach, it was actually very far from the Boundless Fallen Ocean, separated by multiple layers of space and dimensions.
These Souls gravitated towards it, not only from the Mountains and Oceans True World but also from the broken ancient worlds scattered across the Boundless Expanse. The place served as their gateway to reincarnation, a land created beyond the confines of True Worlds and free from the constraints of World Principles. However, one must remain ever vigilant of the potential perils and unexpected attacks that could arise from the Boundless Fallen Ocean and other obscured area.
Gu Changge’s curiosity was piqued as he pondered where these Souls would ultimately find their reincarnation. The Land of Reincarnation was undoubtedly one of the most mysterious places in existence. Even those with immense power and profound knowledge struggled to unravel its mystery.
This was also the first time Queen Lunar and Luo Yanxi had witnessed such a spectacle. They were both amazed by the countless specks of light floating in the air. None of them expected that the Land of Reincarnation for all living beings would be nestled upon this very Moon.
There was not only one Moon in the entire universe, it was a similar existence as a omnipresent supreme expert. A being that exists in the past, present, and future; they were one and the same. A being whose legendary presence existed in all universes and every single one of them was the same being.
It was the same for the Moon, its radiant presence could be witnessed across all the universe. The Moon seen in this place was similar to the Moons that were seen in other universes.
In the depths of the Moon, there was a boundless silver lake, glistening like molten silver. The drifting lights in the sky gracefully descended, sinking into the depths of this lake.
In the distance, a magnificent ancient tree stood proudly amidst the lake, its branches intricately intertwined with one another. Every leaf of this tree seemed to cradle a world of its own, exuding an aura of weight and grandeur.
The air surrounding it was filled with a palpable sense of chaos, enveloping everything like an endless fog.
The sight before them was nothing short of astonishing. An ancient tree, seemingly bearing the weight of countless ancient worlds, stood rooted in the silver lake. The collision of every leaf produced a reverberating rumble that could shake the world.
Atop the ancient tree, a magnificent and sacred palace stood, radiating a divine light that illuminated the surroundings. It emitted the sound of the Great Dao that resonated with the silver Lake of Reincarnation. Furthermore, one could see six vortexes in the depths of the lake, brimming with auras that hinted their existence since ancient times.
Many specks of light that sank into the Lake of Reincarnation would flow into those six vortexes. While most people perceived these vortexes as the Six Paths of Reincarnation, no one knew what was on the side of those vortexes.
The radiant Moon appeared to be a self-contained universe when viewed from outside. From its depths, it appeared even more vast, like a barren Star Territory. The landscape was marred by ominous-looking craters, which held pools of blood in various hues. These pools emitted terrifying auras that made even True Immortals unnerving as if their physical bodies were on the brink of exploding. Furthermore, damaged coffins were unearthed and scattered throughout the area.
The huge stars shone dimly under the illumination of this boundless celestial body. A pitch-black river rolled, its black currents boiling with a mixture of complex Principles and divine lights.
No one would have imagined that the seemingly pristine and gorgeous surface of the Moon could conceal such a scenery that bore a striking resemblance to the fabled Land of Reincarnation in the underworld, which was filled with the scent of death.
Gu Changge, Queen Lunar, and Luo Yanxi arrived from the Boundless Fallen Ocean and stood together on a black mountain. Both women were shocked by the sight before them. They could not believe that the magnificent Moon they had seen was actually riddled with holes, resembling a broken universe that had endured countless wars and battles.
It reminded Luo Yanxi of the time when she was referred to as Ancestor Luo. Ancient worlds that had been ravaged by wars looked exactly like this. Only by setting foot here could one truly understand the extent of the tragic battles that had unfolded here back then.
Gu Changge had a hunch that Qingyi was here, as he sensed strange energy fluctuations in the area. He surmised that she was making preparations for the Mountains and Oceans True World. All her efforts were not only for the deceased to return but also for the upcoming Third Great Purge. [If the Mountains and Oceans True World really gets destroyed, then perhaps the Land of Reincarnation is their only hope.]
A radiant golden light then emerged from beneath Gu Changge’s feet, illuminating the fractured ground below. No living creatures were detected, let alone the presence of a living person. This land of absolute silence was cold and desolate. No living creatures had set foot here for countless years. It felt as though it had been forgotten, tucked away in a corner.
In this desolate Realm, a slender creature, with a body that shimmered like the Moon, swam into the depths of the shimmering silver lake.
This figure received those drifting specs of light, guiding them towards the ancient palace on top of the ancient tree. From afar, this creature resembled a jade belt with unparalleled beauty. Its amber eyes held a hint of crimson.
It was a Celestial Beast, a Wang Yue cub. If it were to reach full maturity, its colossal form would rival the expanse of a Star Territory. Ancient texts even spoke of its ability to give birth to a universe, a testament to its immense size.
Only Little Wang Yue lived in this silver Lake of Reincarnation. The emptiness and silence of this place were akin to the world of eternal rest. She guided those drifting specks of light towards the middle of the lake, almost as if the sole purpose of her existence here was to guide the spectral apparitions to their eternal resting place.
Her crimson eyes suddenly blinked as though she sensed something, then shifted her gaze towards the other side of the lake.
In this forsaken and desolate land, the mountains stood barren, bearing the scars of conflicts. Chaotic energy filled the vast rift valleys. Lifelessness permeated every inch of this desolate place, shrouding it in an unchanging veil of darkness and coldness. Etched into these ancient mountains and soil were intricate and mysterious patterns, but their power was undeniable, keeping all living at bay. Thus, no one could venture into this desolate place for countless ages.
In fact, Little Wang Yue’s arrival here was nothing but pure coincidence.
“When will Master awaken?” Little Wang Yue blinked, thinking that she was just imagining things. After all, it was impossible for energy fluctuation to appear in this desolate place that was isolated from the world. Shaking her head, she continued guiding those specks of light in front of her towards the six vortexes.
Most of these lights were Souls that had departed from various worlds. Some were as small as a palm, others as tiny as grains of rice, and a few were as large as watermelons.
Each speck of light represented a Soul on the brink of reincarnating. Among them were those who possessed great power and had lived extraordinary lives. Even as only Souls, they surpassed the strength of other Souls. Furthermore, these formidable Souls carried the wisdom of their past lives, which could not even be completely erased by the process of reincarnation.
Little Wang Yue’s purpose was to guide these lost and bewildered Souls into the six vortexes because she had been told by her master that this was the true gateway to reincarnation, symbolizing the Six Paths of Reincarnation. In this magnificent world, every mortal creature must journey through these six vortexes, where their Souls would be cleansed before they begin a new life.
Upon being brought here by her ‘Master’, Little Yue Wang had no other option but to accept this ‘duty’ and work tirelessly day after day.
Within the vast expanse of this world, there existed countless other worlds. Many ancient worlds perished and were reborn anew each day, while this place merely served as a place for reincarnation. Nevertheless, countless specks of light emerged from the Boundless Expanse before eventually finding their way here. For certain worlds, they were too weak to sustain the cycle of reincarnation, let alone giving birth to new lives and reshaping the dead.
“If the Master never awakens, I’m going to die of exhaustion in this place…” Little Wang Yue gazed at the towering ancient tree that stood in the Lake of Reincarnation. Within the magnificent palace was where her Master had been slumbering.
This towering ancient tree, a sapling of the Tree of Epoch. It nurtured chaos energy and carried the weight of the world. Once it grew up, it would surely give birth to a powerful world.
Little Wang Yue missed the days when she lived in the Upper Realm. She lived freely without any worries with her Master in a peaceful Small Universe where no one could disturb them. All she did all day was eat, sleep then eat again. There was endless food to indulge in, and she could get even more delicious treats from her Master just by being cute around her.
Alas, since departing the Upper Realm, such a life had become a distant memory, a luxury they could no longer afford. For the past centuries, she had been suffering from constant hunger, growing thinner with each passing day. Little Wang Yue felt very upset, but with her Master in a deep slumber and she had no way of knowing when she would awaken, she toiled tirelessly in this desolate place; day after day, year after year.
Tears welled up in Little Wang Yue’s eyes as she contemplated her plight, but she could only force back her tears. After all, her pride as a Celestial Beast would not allow tears to fall. When the Immortal Palace was at its peak, even an Immortal Kings had to treat her kind with respect.
All of a sudden, Little Wang Yue’s attention was drawn towards the Lake of Reincarnation again, where a brilliant golden light was spreading out.
Ancient runes and prohibition Arrays etched into the ground shimmered brightly, only to fade into nothingness in the presence of this radiant golden path.
Three figures stood on the golden path, and one of them was so familiar to Little Wang Yue that she was momentarily stunned. As soon as she recovered her senses, Little Wang Yue quickly transformed into a streak of silver, rushing towards that figure with incredible speed. The previously calm surface of the lake erupted into turbulent waves.
“What kind of beast is this?” Luo Yanxi and the Queen Lunar were standing on the golden path, looking amazed at the vast silver lake before them when they caught sight of the strange beast.
Their initial assumption was that a strange beast from this place was attacking them, and they immediately became cautious.
Queen Lunar had almost recovered from her injuries, so she summoned her Immortal King Grade Artifact and prepared for a possible confrontation. On the other hand, Luo Yanxi remained unguarded despite her shock because she knew that she had nothing to worry about with Gu Changge by her side.
However, what surprised both of them even more was when the silver light approached, it transformed into a fourteen or fifteen-year-old girl with silver hair. Her face was delicate and captivating, with a hint of crimson in her amber eyes.
Her gorgeous flowing silver hair shimmered like the Moonlight, but she wore an expression of deep distress on her face as she tearfully ran towards Gu Changge, sobbing uncontrollably.
“Master… You’re finally here…” She cried out. Just as she was about to hug Gu Changge’s waist, he coldly pressed her head, preventing her from getting any closer.
“Don’t wipe your tears on me.” Gu Changge naturally recognised her right away. This girl was Xiao Bai, the Little Wang Yue he had brought out from the Purple Mountains back then. He had entrusted her to Gu Qingyi to raise her, as he found it troublesome to care for her himself. He only remembered visiting her when he had some free time to spare.
