“An invitation?”
Ling Hai replied, “Senior, the Continent Assembly, held once every three centuries, will begin three days from now, this time organized by the Ancient Phoenix Sect in Ghost Province. The powers that be will all be there, and due to Senior’s meteoric rise and your name spreading to every corner, each faction of Ghost Province hopes Senior could attend.”
“Ancient Phoenix Sect, you say.” Chen Changan mutters. [Master’s letter had me going there to find Ming He, a close friend of his.]

“The Ancient Phoenix Sect is holding the Continent Assembly.” Chen Changan squinted in thought as he took the invitation.
Ling Hai and Ling Qingshan eased their breath.
They thought he’d refuse.
Ling Hai bowed. “Senior’s participation will cause a stir in the Ghost Province and will make the assembly livelier.”
Ling Bao’er’s eyes lit up in excitement. “Master, are you going? Can I come as well?”
“Ya, yi, ya, yi!”
Chen Changan smiled. “I took the invitation, but I’ve yet to agree about going.”
