Flood Dragon Hei flew through the clouds, passing the sea of rocky peaks that made up the vast Myriad Mountains.
Chen Changan stood on his head like a king, driving home his untouchable existence as his hair and white robe swayed. Hei used his energy to block the harshest of winds from throwing him off.
“Senior, where shall we go?”
“The place I travel is ethereal and elusive, without a trace to be found, without a trail to be followed.”
“…” Hei was tongue-tied; his philistine nature could only come up with, [Holy sh*t! Senior’s deep as hell.]
“Senior, what do your words mean?”
“Flood Dragon Hei, go wherever you wish to. I’m only out to appreciate the beauty of the world.”
“Understood.” Hei cheered up inside, honoured to have Senior mount him, his greatest blessing. [Once I go to Soaring Immortal Mountain and tell them, those guys will see me in a new light. Ha-ha-ha, I got to be Senior’s mount! Jealous much? Huh? HUH?!]
Hei slowed down his flight, cruising’ above the clouds since Chen Changan had no destination.
The fleeting clouds had Chen Changan thinking. [Since I’m out of Absolute Domain, might as well do a Special Effects test run.]
Hei’s words stopped him before he could. “Senior, there’s a terrible aura up ahead.”
“Avoid it.” Chen Changan said, since he could not feel it for the life of him.
“Understood.” Hei’s black scales shone and veered sideways.
*Wu~* A low horn rumbled, followed by a copper warship charging into the Myriad Mountains like a raging beast. The horn’s deep sound gave the feeling the warship was heavier than a mountain, stronger than steel, instilling heavy pressure with its presence.
Flood Dragon Hei started at its appearance.
“The Gold Immortal Vessel is known to be Mist Province Lord’s precious treasure. Did he come in person?” Hei recalled Ah’Miao. She was the Mist Province Lord’s Daughter, and using the Mist Province Cauldron revealed her location. The Lord had to be here to find her.
He was worried. [Ah’Miao has been hiding in the Heavenly Fox Clan’s forbidden area. Did she get discovered so quickly?]
Chen Changan was curious by comparison. “Such a majestic vessel, riding the winds and floating on the clouds. I didn’t think I’d see one in this corner of the world.”
“Senior knows of it?”
Chen Changan started, [Is this boat that famous?]
Chen Changan spoke like a sage. “I’ve been meditating for eons, and I’m not privy to the affairs of the continent. Tell me what you know of it.”
The Mist Province Lord was a mighty Immortal Slayer, true, but he did not think there was anyone that could ever top Chen Changan, not when he killed an Immortal in one slap.
[Senior must find it beneath him.]
“Senior, it’s called the Gold Immortal Vessel, a precious treasure of Mist Province Lord.”
“Hmm.” Chen Changan squinted. [Is he here for me or on his way to the Continent Assembly?]
Hei sighed, “Senior, this vessel has to be here for Ah’Miao.”
“Why her?” Speaking of her, he had not seen that quirky and lively catgirl for a while now. The Butterfly Koi were about to run out, eaten.
Chen Changan planned on getting some more from her in exchange for Dao Fruits.
Hei retold all he knew. He was certain that Ah’Miao would be safe with his help.
Chen Changan was astounded. “What’s her Father thinking? Marrying her off to a monk? Does he want her to be a nun? Poor little kitty, so adorable, yet so pitiful to be made a nun.]
Hei nodded. “Yes, that’s why Ah’Miao fled to the Myriad Mountains, but by the looks of it, this will be the end of her escape.”
Chen Changan glanced at the incoming boat.
Knowing the full story, Chen Changan realised he had a part in this. The Mist Province Lord found her out only because Ah’Miao used the Mist Province Cauldron.
[Also, trying to force something on someone. [Couldn’t that Lord just let the monk pray in peace? What’s the point of giving him a wife?]
Conducting a loveless marriage went against this democratic and freedom-loving Chen Changan.
The Gold Immortal Vessel halted and shone a blinding golden light. A golden beam shot from it, turning into a Yin-Yang Lock as it fired for the Flood Dragon.
“Evil fiend! It’s fate to meet Hidden Sky Temple and be my mount. Be honoured!”
