Myriad Mountains was a paradise for Monsters and Demons. Creatures ran wild and free. Demons howled and Monsters yowled.
Chen Changan walked through the gloomy forest, their savage calls reaching his ears and making his knees wobble.
“The great outdoors is fraught with dangers. Should I use Mirage and make a stronger Avatar? At Golden Core at least…”
Chen Changan pondered.
*Hiss~* He felt a chill down his spine. “Shit, don’t tell me it’s the same script? A ghost is coming for me again…”
Chen Changan froze and looked back. A brown Python coiled around a huge tree stared right at him with a most unkind gaze. The Python was pitifully weak, just a 5th layer Qi Refining Demon but it was still enough to kill Chen Changan.
“Damn it! I just took my first step outside and already got a Demon on my tail.”
*Whoosh!* The Python shot straight for him, opening its maw to rob his life.
Chen Changan jumped in fright and bolted. He was invincible in the Absolute Domain but the bottom rung anywhere else.
The puny Qi Refining Demon could kill him dead in no time flat. [A boss’ outing ending in misery.]
Chen Changan didn’t want his first Avatar to have such a disgraceful death. He ran like hell, deeper into Myriad Mountains.
The Python hissed behind him. It was only a matter of time for it to catch him.
“Curses, stop chasing me or I’ll sic Touba Ye on you to bring you over for dinner!”
The Python didn’t let up, he was the easiest prey ever. [What a useless prey, a mere Mortal! It’s my fortune to get an easy meal in Myriad Mountains.]
Chen Changan panted from all the running. Yet, the Python was getting closer.
“Ugh, haa, I can’t run anymore!” Chen Changan stopped and huffed harder, feeling his kidneys screaming at him.
The Python’s head loomed over Chen Changan. It flicked its tongue at him in mockery at his weakness and mortality.
Chen Changan cursed, “Come on! Just try it and I’ll make snake stew out of you!”
Chen Changan gave up running. [A stupid Python dares eat yours truly’s Avatar? You’re cooked.]
The Python looked at him like an idiot. It opened its mouth and Chen Changan felt sick, holding his nose.
“That’s just nasty. It’s like something crawled and died in there.”
Chen Changan was glad he was alone with the Python. Getting eaten was so humiliating. He was wise not to bring Bao’er.
Chen Changan glared at the foul maw coming over. He didn’t plan on letting it eat him, wanting to detonate. His Avatar was weak, but it could still do that.
As the maw closed in, Chen Changan noticed a red glow. “The hell is this?”
It wrapped around his waist and pulled him into the air. The next thing he knew, he was standing on a tree.
“Are you alright?” Chen Changan turned at the soft voice. He was met with a gorgeous woman, taking his breath away.
She had a red string in her hand, exuding Demonic energy, but the white attire gave her a holy air, like that of a fairy. The white fox ears on her head and the white tail proved she was related to Hong Yi.
While Hong Yi was enchanting and enticing, this woman’s beauty was in her innocent aura, her purity, giving the impression she was otherworldly in this savage world.
[A Demon or an Immortal?] Chen Changan couldn’t decide. He liked pretty ladies, confident he never let them charm him.
[At least, I got the Absolute Domain System, making me the brightest gem in the world.]
The Python shivered in fear from the woman’s aura, frozen on the spot.
“Go.” The woman’s voice was soft and gentle.
The Python was gratified at her pardon and scurried away.
