“Master!” Ling Bao’er turned her big doe eyes on him.
Chen Changan was her Master, but Ling Qingshan was her father.
She hoped he’d save them.
Chen Changan nodded.
That was merely in passing though, since he always had plans to kill those Immortals. Saving them was a given with their removal.
“Don’t go giving me that look. Of course, I’d help.” Chen Changan smiled.
“Thank you, Master.” Ling Bao’er was grateful but also guilty. [It’s all my fault for making it hard on Master.]
Ling Qingshan finally relaxed. “Words aren’t enough to thank you, Senior. Senior is free to make use of my sect as you wish.”
Chen Changan waved him off. “Since they came for the Immortal Treasure, why not just come to Soaring Immortal Mountain?”
The easiest way to save the Nine Swords Sect was to just kill all Immortals. As for the Ghost Skull Sect, they would hand over the hostages after that show of force.
[Two birds with one stone.]
“Senior, Immortals can’t stay long in the Lower Realm and since they’ve been around for a while, they must be in the Myriad Mountains already.”
“Great, so wait here for the Immortals to drop dead. Then you can go to the Ghost Skull Sect for your people. And they will release Nine Swords Sect’s Grand Elders if they want to keep breathing the same air as us.”
“Thank you so much, Senior.” Ling Qingshan was touched to the core.
After a couple hours of waiting around, the dark clouds loomed over with great speed, drowning the lands in shades of gray.
Following the clouds came the Immortal pressure, slamming hard into the Myriad Mountains and driving the dread deep in the hearts of any Monster or Demon roaming about.
The hidden Demons also felt it, stirred from their seclusion along with the leaders of other Demon Clans.
“Where did this insane pressure come from?”
“That’s an Immortal’s pressure!”
“An Immortal has come!”
The Immortal’s pressure was conspicuous compared to the aura of cultivators, Demons, Monsters, and Spirits on the Nine Province Continent. It was almighty, all-encompassing, and horrible to such a degree that it couldn’t come from anywhere but an Upper Realm’s Immortal.
What was going to happen to Myriad Mountains?
All the Demon Clans shivered under the impossible aura of an Immortal.
Of them, the Heavenly Fox Clan was hidden and long-lasting in Myriad Mountains’ history. Two Demon lights shot from their home and stood ten miles in the sky. The lights faded to reveal one older and another younger woman.
The latter wore all white.
Bai Yue looked grave in the distance, “Grandmother, is this pressure from Immortals?”
Grandmother had white hair, a hunched back, and many marks of time on her aged face. Her eyes, though, were sharp.
She spoke, “Yes. Immortals have descended upon Myriad Mountains.”
“Immortals have descended! Could this be due to the fallen Immortal Treasure a few days ago?”
Bai Yue worried, “Sister Hong Yi said the Immortal Treasure is now with the Young Master’s disciple. Aren’t they in danger?”
The hag sneered.
“The Immortal Treasure is too important to be left in the hands of filthy Lower Realm denizens. Mark my words, Bai Yue, all attempts to grasp it will suffer a swift ending at the hands of the Immortals.”
“Will the Immortals kill them?”
“Immortals are cruel. Haven’t you wondered why we never sent anyone to get the Immortal Treasure? We could’ve taken it, but then our clan would’ve died this very day. Humph! Bai Yue, you call that Senior strong, but strong enough to fight off an Immortal? I was wise to keep Hong Yi and Foxy here and avoid a pointless death. They will thank me later.”
Bai Yue sighed, not knowing what to say.
Chen Changan left a deep impression, of a towering and mighty character. It was Hong Yi’s honor to serve him, but no matter how amazing he might be, there was no beating an Immortal.
The Immortals of the Upper Realm would be sure to crush any that stood in their way.
The Matron grimaced and looked shocked.
“Grandmother, what is it?” Bai Yue noticed the change.
“Twelve Immortals. Why so many? To think twelve Immortals have descended?”
The Matron shook all over. She thought it would only be one Immortal, only now to realize there were twelve of them. [Sending so many over one Immortal Treasure?]
She knew better than most just how hard it was for an Immortal to descend.
One of them set loose on the Myriad Mountains was bad enough, but with twelve, the whole world could fall. [Chen Changan invoked a worldly calamity by taking the Immortal Treasure!]
