Jiang Yuchan slowed down her crazed tendency by eating the black chicken soup in one gulp.

The explosion of flavor and smells, added to the Immortal Energy, got her to feel much better.

“Hi-hi-hi, Pretty Sister, now isn’t Master’s black chicken soup great?” Ling Bao’er giggled.

She and Foxy more than ate their own share, like two big gluttons.

Chen Changan chuckled.

He made the black chicken soup to help Jiang Yuchan, hoping it would heal her illness. But the real reason was to get Ling Bao’er and Foxy closer to having an Immortal Body.

He had ten more Immortal Pills on him, filled with boundless energy. Just one was enough to make Touba Ye Immortal, but only after he almost crossed the gates of Hell. So, Chen Changan didn’t offer them to anyone else.

Be that as it may, he couldn’t fight off the curiosity of trying one himself, with no result whatsoever. It was no different than taking a placebo.

It baffled him to no end why something carrying enough power to burn him from the inside out couldn’t help his situation.

The upside was his Eternal Body’s scent wasn’t as thick, thinning out greatly.

Since he couldn’t just let the remaining ten Immortal Pills catch dust somewhere, he devised the perfect solution. He’d use some of it to mix it with the soup, diluting its obscene Immortal Energy reserve.

Even Ling Bao’er and Foxy would then be able to take it. Slow and steady wins the race.

“Don’t go overboard with eating, you two.”

Chen Changan said as the girls finished their third bowl. Their faces lushed like drunkards, sweat trickling down their foreheads.

“Hic! Master, I’m bursting with warmth.”

“Ya, yi, ya, yi!”

Chen Changan’s mouth twitched. [These gluttons are going to leave me broke. I didn’t make it to fill your belly, but to train your bodies.]

Jiang Yuchan was silent on the bed. [And these children are his disciples…]

“Since you ate, cultivate to absorb the Immortal Pill’s energy.”

Ling Bao’er and Foxy sat down on the spot. The sheer amount of Immortal Energy felt like it was bursting from within.

Chen Changan ignored them, turning to his guest. “How are you feeling?”

Jiang Yuchan gave a most cautious reply.

She was still at a loss as to why Chen Changan hadn’t killed her. [He must have his own reasons.]

“I’m much better. Thank you, Senior.”

“Good.” Chen Changan returned her storage ring.

“S-Senior?” Jiang Yuchan flinched, her voice more even now.

Jiang Yuchan had resigned herself to fate. There was no escaping from this being. She was at his whim.

Her Ancestor’s words echoed in her mind. ‘Don’t fight it; relish the moment.’

Jiang Yuchan was at ease.

“You dropped your storage ring when your illness acted up.” Chen Changan saw her recover and smiled.

“The black chicken soup must’ve helped you ease your illness, I see.”

[Illness? What illness?] Jiang Yuchan was confused.

Jiang Yuchan made up her mind as the room was drowning in the scent of the soup: [I better listen to my Ancestor.]

Jiang Yuchan whispered. “S-Senior.”

“Yes?”

“May I have a second?”

“Sure.”

Chen Changan smiled. [She realized how great it is for her precarious health and wants another serving to feel better.]

“Eat as much as you want and get better. We’ll talk later.”

[Talk? He must mean killing me.] Jiang Yuchan sighed but accepted her fate. So, she ate bowl after bowl of soup, taking it as her last meal.

She had to admit that the supreme being’s soup was too good. It was her honor to die at his hands, and since it was today, she might as well go with a full belly.

Jiang Yuchan ate with tearful eyes. [Am I really going to die? Woe is me, I’m too young. I haven’t even married yet!]
