Shrein and Collete, the Administrators of the North and South Towers, were each starting their own unique course of action.
To begin with, the World Tree and Vermilinia Castle were cheats for their respective Towers, so there was no need to worry about Divine Power being generated from the towers where those two had been moved.
In addition, there was a surplus of Divine Power, so most of it was being sent to Amamiya Tower.
They were both happy with using the Divine Power because they were able to configure each Tower to send a percentage of the Crystal’s Divine Power to Amamiya Tower.
They were using their abundant Divine Power to set up summoning circles.
Shrein in the North Tower was taking a bold approach.
She set up a summoning circle of low-level monsters in the Floor, where low-level monsters naturally spawned, and started to summon them.
This was an entirely different approach from Kousuke, who went out of his way to build a base so that he could make as few sacrifices as possible.
Kousuke had no intention of stopping her.
It wasn’t a bad idea, as long as they had enough Divine Power and were willing to sacrifice a bit.
The reason why Kousuke didn’t take the same approach was because he wanted to avoid sacrificing his Fluffy Friends.
They also didn’t need to set up a summoning circle to have a food supply.
This was to prevent the level of naturally spawned monsters from rising and to save the time of setting up the summoning circles.
Furthermore, this method was perfect for finding out if the evolution of the monsters summoned as dependents had anything to do with the number of monsters that were killed by the summoned monsters.
“So? How is it going?”
Kousuke asked Shrein directly.
Collete was also there with them.
When asked, Shrein looked puzzled.
“I was actually going to tell you that I honestly don’t know. I certainly feel that the number of summoned creatures evolving is less than other Towers, but they have still evolved.”
“Hmm… Was it too early to assume that they were evolving by defeating the summoned monsters?”
That was what he concluded from the previous experiment he conducted on the 10th Floor, but something was starting to feel questionable.
Collete interrupted Kousuke, who appeared skeptical.
“That’s not necessarily true, is it?”
“Not necessarily?”
“Because, first off, monsters summoned in Amamiya Tower and other Towers don’t always evolve in the same way, right?”
“…I certainly didn’t consider looking into that.”
If each tower had a different method of evolution, it would be a complete mystery to figure out.
That was the best part of Tower Administration, was what he had in mind.
“Maybe it’s because we are only considering things within one Tower that we get into trouble.”
Kousuke turned his head to Shrein, who chuckled.
“What do you mean?”
“Monsters outside the Tower are also evolving. That means that even naturally spawned monsters fighting each other can evolve.”
“Does that mean that summoned monsters have the same chance of evolving as naturally spawned monsters?”
“That’s what I mean. It’s just that the speed at which they evolve is different, isn’t it?”
Hearing Shrein’s opinion, Kousuke thought of something.
The difference was in experience.
He wondered if there was more experience that could be gained by defeating a monster that was summoned rather than a naturally spawned monster.
Of course, he did not believe that there was such a thing as experience value in this world, but something like actual experience would certainly be there.
“… But if that’s the case… There’s one discrepancy, isn’t there?”
“Hmm? Can you elaborate?”
“I don’t know how long it’s been since this world was created, but I don’t understand how this Tower and other Towers, which have never been attacked before, have been divided into different strengths by Floor.”
Even the First Floor was rarely conquered by anyone.
If his prediction was correct, it would not be surprising to see stronger monsters coming out of the first Floor.
However, when Kousuke had conquered the lower Floor, the only monsters that had come out of it were of acceptable strength for a lower Floor.
“You have a point… Indeed, that’s exactly what’s happening.”
“Is that even worth thinking about?”
Collete said, sounding unsure of herself.
“What?”
“Who knows how the Tower was managed before we conquered it in the first place, right?”
With those words, Kousuke understood what Collete meant.
“You mean the Tower’s functions were automatically adjusted to make the levels similar?”
“There’s no way to confirm that now that you have conquered it, though.”
Currently, the Northwest Tower was completely untouched, so he thought it was practically the same as when it was unconquered.
However, the fact that it was already conquered meant that the Tower’s automatic functions could have been lost.
Kousuke remembered the work that was done automatically when he conquered the Tower.
If those were the tasks that changed the way that Tower functioned, then Collete’s point was correct.
“Hmm, I give up. I’m not going to think about the state of the Tower before we conquered it. It’s more important to think about what’s going to happen with the current Towers.”
Kousuke quickly stopped dwelling on it.
Even if there was a Tower that had not yet been conquered, it would take more than a year to confirm what he had already mentioned.
Besides, there were no unconquered Towers on the Central Continent.
He didn’t think it was necessary to go all the way to another continent just to check.
“By the way, what are the levels of the two Towers?”
“It’s three.”
“Mine too.”
“I suppose upgrading them should be our main focus…”
When it came to Amamiya Tower, the Tower level went up to 3 quickly, but it took a long time to get it to level 4.
Although they were not particularly concerned about Tower level, they wanted to be able to summon intermediate level monsters as soon as possible.
It was the same with Amamiya Tower, but once the intermediate monsters were adjusted and could be summoned, the growth of the dependent monsters was visibly different.
“Well, I guess we can’t be too hasty about this.”
Even now, when Divine Power was in abundance, it was taking a good amount of time to get them to level 3.
The effect of not being able to install a <Godstone> was substantial.
In Amamiya Tower, things that could be easily installed were considered to be rare, if not cheats.
When they took a <Godstone> and transferred it to another tower, and placed it on a Floor, it would not be registered, and would not work the same way as it did in Amamiya Tower.
Everyone had already given up on that idea.
They tried to bring in other things too, but the Divine Power generated stuff just didn’t work as well as <Godstone>.
He had no idea what was causing it, so he gave up on that option.
“So? What’s going on in the South Tower?”
“So far, so good.”
The South Tower that Collete was in charge of had nine Floors, including the Floor with the world tree and its surroundings.
This was a mistake that Kousuke realized later, but the Floor he had designated for the Floor exchange was the lower Floor of the southern tower, which reduced the number of Floors where lower level monsters could be found.
Therefore, Collete couldn’t apply the same method as Shrein, but instead used a different approach. It was to summon multiple monsters on the same Floor.
This was also a method that Kousuke had not implemented in Amamiya Tower.
It would give him an idea of what would happen if the monsters clashed with each other on the same Floor.
Kousuke believed that there would be no conflict if they were given summoned monsters as food. Though, the outcome of this was still unknown.
Kousuke thought that Collete might move it to a different Floor before that happened, but that was fine with him, and there was no need to force them into a fight.
