Christophe, who was in his office sorting through the paperwork, let out a sigh when he was finished.
He had finally finished the minimum required processing for the day.
After a short rest, he plans to take care of some other small errands.
There are still many other things to learn as the next king, so free time is not an option.
However, both Christophe and his entourage know that it is not good to cram too much into a day, so they make sure to take a break occasionally.
It would be a waste of time if Christophe himself collapsed.
The little breaks he can take are a time when he can relax.
He picked up the drink that the maid of honor had prepared for him and drank it.
The drink was Kutur, one of Summit Kingdom’s specialties.
Unfortunately, it was not well accepted in neighboring countries because of its unique flavor.
Christophe has been familiar with this drink since he was a child, so he prefers it as his most relaxing drink.
While Christophe was taking a short rest, there was a knock at the door of his room.
Christophe could imagine it was an emergency, and his face contorted for a moment, but he quickly pulled it back and replied.
“You may come in.”
Entering the room was a soldier from the knightly order responsible for guarding the castle town.
Although Christophe is recognized as the next king, he does not yet have the authority to get involved with the knighthood.
If there was something important, he would go to the king, so he tilted his head, not knowing why he had come to him.
“What is it?”
“There was a disturbance at the Crown branch.”
Christophe’s expression tightened at that comment.
Naturally, the king has jurisdiction over the Knights, but Christophe is in charge of the Crown and the Kingdom of Razequa Amamiya.
Naturally, reports regarding the branch are immediately brought to Christophe’s attention.
“What’s going on?”
“That’s…”
The knight who came to report looked as if he was about to say something.
“What? If you don’t report it to me soon, I won’t be able to deal with it, will I?”
“….Count Remezhov has been visiting the branch office, demanding to be allowed to use the Transfer Gate.”
At the knight’s words, Christophe’s expression changed quickly.
The words were calmer, but he instantly understood what the situation was.
And, of course, why this knight had come to visit Christophe.
“Tell the branch that I’ll be right there.”
“Ha!”
Christophe decided immediately, and the knight who came to report immediately left the room.
Before he could leave, Christophe immediately instructed his aides.
“We will leave for the town immediately. The guards are to be ready at once with the bare minimum. Select one civil official to report to the king. Notify me as soon as you are ready… Then get ready at once.”
As the Crown Prince, Christophe could not go to the castle town casually.
But that doesn’t mean he can’t leave what’s going on to someone else.
If a problem were to occur here, the relationship he has built with Razequa Amamiya could quickly cool down.
We really have to avoid that.
“…Seriously, why doesn’t everyone understand?”
With that small murmur, Christophe let out a big sigh.

Count Remezhov is a mid-level noble in the Summit Kingdom.
Although he is a mid-level noble, he is still a senior nobleman, almost on the level of a high ranking noble.
Considering that only a very limited number of people in the Summit Kingdom can be called senior nobility, it is fair to say that his position is quite strong.
In the normal course of events, there would be almost no one who would be able to refuse Count Remezhov.
However, Remezhov was now in that almost impossible situation.
Having a little time on his hands, he decided to try out the Transfer Gate at the Crown Branch, which had been on his mind for some time.
He was informed by Crown Prince Christophe that only a select few were allowed to use the Transfer Gate.
Count Remezhov, however, was in a very prominent position in the country.
As such, he thought that he would be able to use the Transfer Gate as usual.
That is why he wanted to use the Transfer Gate to go to the rumored Amamiya Tower, but he was prevented from doing so by the branch staff.
Count Remezhov, who thought he could use the gate with ease, pushed his position, which he normally would not do, and tried to force the issue.
But the branch officials dispatched from the tower were stubborn.
No matter what Remezhov said, they would not change their words, insisting that the Transfer Gate could not be used.
Whether this was good for the Crown or good for the Summit Kingdom is a moot point, but it was fortunate that the officials, aware of Remezhov’s position, were moved from the public area to a conference room-like setting before he could identify himself.
It would have been very bad if he had been seen pushing and shoving, since the fact that the branch had a Transfer Gate in the first place had not been made public.
Christophe was deeply grateful to God when he heard this story from the knight on the way to the branch.
Christophe was taken to the branch office, where he was immediately ushered into a room with Count Remezhov.
It would have been fine if he had given up and left, but unfortunately Count Remezhov was still persisting.
Seeing Christophe enter the room, he stood up with a panicked look on his face.
“Prince Christophe! What brings you to this place?”
Christophe glared at Count Remezhov who said so.
“I heard that you are wielding power without honor.”
“No such thing…!”
“No, you say? I have been firmly notified. I have been informed firmly that the Transfer Gate here is not to be used unless there is something special about it. Or did you think you were the only one?”
Remezhov, who had earlier brandished his status as a count, fell silent.
It seems that Christophe’s arrival had stopped the heat that had been raised by the previous exchanges.
Seeing this, Christophe let out a single sigh.
“For the most part, I told you that it must not be known that there is a Transfer Gate here. What were you going to do if the people found out that you were making a scene in a place like this?”
At Christophe’s almost reprimanding words, Remezhov shrank back.
His expression also turned slightly blue.
He must have cooled down and understood what he had done.
“…I apologize.”
The squeezed out apology quelled any anger Christophe had previously had.
“And yet, it is not you. Why did you do this?”
Remezhov, who had grown smaller at Christophe’s question, began to reminisce reflectively.
“I was completely in over my head. I have no excuse.”
“No, that’s okay… Nope. Not good. You’ll get your punishment later, but I find it hard to believe that you would make such a fuss.”
Remezhov is an aristocrat who has earned his credibility by his own strength alone, having been a lower-middle-class aristocrat to begin with.
He would not have been the one to make such a careless gesture.
“…At first, it was curiosity. That didn’t go through, and I ended up…”
“But didn’t the notice say that Transfer Gates are not normally used?”
Remezhov blinked at Christophe’s words as if hearing them for the first time.
“You can’t use them? What I heard was that the word was that the public could not use it?”
Remezhov’s understanding was that it could be used by nobles, even those of a certain high rank.
Hearing that line, Christophe couldn’t help but think.
Somehow I think I understand the cause of all this fuss.
Christophe felt that he had to go back to the castle immediately and investigate how the notice he had issued had been conveyed.
