[What is going on? Why is it not weakening at all!?] Yang Ji cursed as he sought to find a way to resist the Black Ink Strength with all his might.
Unfortunately, any resistance was met with agonising pain. His teeth were already clenched so hard that his jargulars were protruding, and only muffled roars could be heard. Yet, with all this sacrifice, nothing was being yielded.
Yang Ji could feel his body breaking down, but he did not know what else to do. The more he tried to force the Black Ink Strength out, the more he tried to repel it, or hinder it, the worse his situation got.
At this moment, he was ready to tap out. To ask his Sister to save him. However, he soon thought of a possibility. An insane one, which he would never dare try. One he could only do because he had complete faith that no matter what happens, Yang Xu would be able to save him.
With whatever remained of his consciousness, he sent Yang Xu a message through his Divine Sense.
When the girl first heard of it, she immediately wanted to slap her Brother to his senses. However, unable to bear harming him, worse, unable to bear causing the situation to be worse, she relented to his idea.
Still, she did not plan to stand by idly while he was going to do something so reckless. Yang Xu immediately turned to Mo Na Ye and said. “Take us away, where Purifying Light would not cause much harm. I believe you are able to move the environment, right?”
Mo Na Ye could tell that Yang Xu requested this not due to panic, but rational thought. So, he agreed and stated, “That is certainly the best course of action. But, I do not wish to claim credit for providing assistance I cannot do. It is not me that is capable of moving the terrain, but the Holy One.”
Yang Xu wanted to snap back, as if that was important. However, seeing how Mo Na Ye immediately took out what seemed to be a small Black Ink Clansman’s house, she just turned back to focus on her Brother.
It only took a moment before the ground beneath them started to tremble, and Mo Na Ye kept the Black Ink Nest.
In fact, trembling might be too strong a word to describe what the ground was doing. A shake was more apt. The ground beneath them seemed to have gently disconnected from the rest of the mountain, as it floated higher up into the boundless sky.
Once it was high enough, Mo Na Ye said, “This is far enough for you to do whatever you want without any restraints.”
Naturally, Mo Na Ye was under the assumption that Yang Xu would already be using Purifying Light on Yang Ji. So, what she did next confused him.
Yang Xu took out an Array Plate from her Space Ring and injected some Qi into it. Using her Divine Sense to direct the Array Plate, it activated to form a small protective Array around her and her Brother.
Once the Array had settled, that was the thing that Mo Na Ye was confused about. Yang Xu did nothing but wait and looked at her Brother.
“It’s up. You can do what you wish. I’ll make sure you are safe.” Yang Xu grabbed onto Yang Ji’s hand with both of hers. Between their palms were two already prepared Blue and Yellow Crystals. It was only once everything was ready that she spoke using her Divine Sense.
“Here goes nothing…” Yang Ji tried to force out a smile, but he initially failed to do so. It was only after a moment where his facial expression changed to reflect what he wanted to show.
The big gamble he wanted to take was letting the Black Ink Strength course through his entire body with absolutely no resistance.
Naturally, he would not have done this without a reason.
After resisting the Black Ink Strength inside of him for so long, and seeing no result was being yielded, he almost saw no possibility in them overcoming this trial. This was not a matter of not trying hard enough. It was truly impossible for him to overcome this trial by resisting Black Ink Strength.
The other option was to push the Black Ink Strength out of his system. However, if resistance was already this hard, it would be unimaginable for them to remove the Black Ink Strength from their system with their own strength. In fact, the easier option to remove Black Ink Strength from their body was to use Purifying Light.
However, the main goal of this trial was to increase resistance against Black Ink Strength, whereby it would not be able to affect them any longer. Using Purifying Light would not help them in this regard.
Now, the last thing Yang Ji believed he could do was actually let the Black Ink Strength course through him without resisting.
This decision was not without its own consequences. Still, Yang Ji believes it was better for him to go through this first than have Yang Xu blindly go through this.
Once Yang Ji’s Qi stopped resisting, the Black Ink Strength was quick to immediately rush through all paths. They travelled through his Meridians and blood vessels, quickly reaching his heart and Dantian.
When it reached his heart, Yang Ji could feel his emotions shifting. His emotions stirred in the primal sense, whereby he had no logical control over them. Unaccountable hatred, unaccountable violence, unaccountable jealousy… such emotions rushed through him. At this point, the feeling was not one of corruption. It felt as though these feelings were always there, just hidden and brought up.
The interesting thing was when the Black Ink Strength reached his Dantian. Yang Ji initially expected his Dantian to be corrupted, like what happened to Black Ink Disciples.
Black Ink Disciples were Humans that were corrupted by Black Ink Strength. It was said that they would become stronger after ‘accepting’ Black Ink Strength, able to surpass the limit of the Open Heaven Realm.
Heaven was fair though. There was still a cost to this power. Their bodies would deform, and they were akin to slaves to the Black Ink Clan.
Once they became Black Ink Disciples, it was said that they could only wield Black Ink Strength and not Qi.
For Yang Ji, he naturally expected himself to turn into a Black Ink Disciple, and have his Qi corrupted and replaced by Black Ink Strength. However, that did not happen. Instead, the Black Ink Strength seems to concentrate in his Dantain, as another sphere. It did not try to interact with the revolving Qi in his Dantian. In fact, it seemed to be actively avoiding making contact.
This strange phenomenon continued, and all the Black Ink Strength circulating in his body, even his heart, all ended up in his Dantian and settled there…
