Once broken free, the twins were able to easily leave the room. There was no other hindrance to their path out, as though they had passed through all requirements to continue and were simply waiting for the next round to start.
In fact, the twins could not help but wonder what happened to their surroundings. This Black Ink Nest, which was supposed to be Mo Na Ye’s home, had seemingly transformed into something completely different.
The whole space had changed. It no longer bore any resemblance to a home. Rather, it felt like the whole interior of the Black Ink Nest had been modified into a giant Array, with the cultivation room at the centre.
This was extremely peculiar, since there was a saying that only Humans could create Arrays and Artifacts, because only they could comprehend the Dao of Arrays and the Dao of Artifacts. Typically, for most people, seeing the Black Ink Clan setup an Array would be a strange sight. However, for the twins, this was not the case. After all, they did not believe in that saying. Their personal experience proved that saying to be false.
To them, the most important thing was what had happened to Mo Na Ye, and his home. They were also curious how much time had passed.
Spreading out his Divine Sense like a tide, Yang Ji scanned the whole Black Ink Nest, and noticed no one was there. In fact, no one had stepped in here for what seemed to be a long time. “He’s no longer here. Do you think he moved out?”
“Since he’s not here, you want to try and escape?” Yang Xu asked, checking with her Brother. Though, the question seemed redundant to both.
Yang Ji slowly shook his head, and confirmed their thoughts. “I doubt we would be able to escape. Mo would know where we are as long as we are within his territory. Besides, we promised to help. I don’t really feel good to back out of our words.”
Yang Xu gave a silent nod of agreement. She too felt the same. It was just that, whatever Mo wanted their help with would have been much easier if their Father was here. Technically, going back and asking for his help was an option.
However, if her Brother wanted to continue on and do this themselves, she was fine with it as well.
Yang Ji took the lead to exit through the door, leading to the outside world. There, he found the whole scenery to be the same. He once again scanned his surroundings with his Divine Sense, and finally discovered life in the Black Ink Nest next door.
Seemingly to have noticed his presence, the opposite Black Ink Nest’s door suddenly opened and there, Mo Na Ye came out.
The man was certainly dressed, and had a gentlemanly grace to him. His hair was more well kept, and he seemed to have donned something more formal – at least, it was something more formal in Yang Xu’s eyes. Their fashion trends here were definitely more different from those back home, since the material they could use was different as well. In fact, even the slightly ignorant Yang Ji could tell something was different about him.
Mo Na Ye seemed a little flustered as he appeared. He was certainly not expecting the twins to come out at this time. There was a natural trace of disappointment in his eyes, which he quickly tried to hide.
Yang Xu naturally noticed, but she kept quiet, [Seems like we ruined his little session?]
Pitying him a little, Yang Xu was the one who stepped in to speak, before her Brother said something that might be insensitive. “We’re done with removing the Black Ink Strength from my Brother’s body. Is there anything else we need to do?”
Mo Na Ye gave a small sigh, as though indicating, ‘I knew you two were monsters, but could you have taken a few days to do it?’
He turned towards the little girl and said, “In that case, now, it is your turn.”
Yang Ji quickly interjected, “My Sister does not need to do it. I’m certain she would not get corrupted even if she drank Black Ink Liquid.”
Mo Na Ye had one of his eyebrows raised as he asked, “How are you so confident?”
Yang Ji smirked as he declared, “Because, we got a new helper.”
Soon, Yang Ji summoned out the little worm.
Technically, he tried to call it awake, but the little worm would not respond. So, Yang Ji, without much of a choice, forcefully expelled it from his Dantian.
The little worm was confused. While it was taking it much needed beauty sleep, it suddenly got expelled out of its home. It looked at Yang Ji with grievance in its beady eyes, as though asking him, ‘I’ve already done my work for the day. What else do you want from me!?’
Yang Ji held the little worm in his hand and presented it to Mo Na Ye. “The little guy should be able to consume Black Ink Strength.”
Hearing it getting called ‘little guy’, the little worm immediately bit onto Yang Ji ‘s thumb.
*Ouch!* Yang Ji cried out. “What was that for!?”
Yang Xu, who had stepped back a couple of feet at this point, questioned, “Maybe it is because that thing is a girl?”
“Okay, okay. Little girl. Fine. Are you happy now?” Yang Ji said and the little worm finally released her grasp on his finger. Like a Young Lady, she even seemed to have made a ‘humph’ in front of him.
Mo Na Ye took a closer look at the little worm, and felt an instinctive urge to prostrate before it. This sensation felt similar to looking at the Holy One. Yet, it was also different at the same time. He could not quite describe it, but he could tell that his Black Ink Strength would certainly be rendered mute before this little thing.
Seeming to sense what Yang Ji said was right, Mo Na Ye gave a slight nod as he gulped, trying his best to stay calm.
However, when the little worm had her eyes set on him, he could feel a slight shiver down his spine. It was akin to that of a prey meeting its natural predator. This had nothing to do with their difference in strength. This was just an instinct.
The little worm eyed him, and as though throwing a slight tantrum, it slammed its tail on Yang Ji’s palm repeatedly, as though questioning, ‘you woke me up for this small fry?’
