“I detect the aura of Immortality from the new True World. There is an Immortal Flame Core that has been left behind… Perhaps we can even obtain more Source Matter here. There might even be real treasures left behind. After all, the loss of the protection of its True Spirit means that this True World must’ve undergone a Great Purge.”

The hazy silhouettes communicated with an ancient unknown language. Their eyes were gleaming brightly.

Their gazes were brimming with excitement and anticipation. It was as if a group of starving people had stumbled across a lush and fruitful land.

Principles and divine light intertwined across this ancient battleship. There were carvings of ancient and mysterious runes as well. An abundance of Chaos Qi surged and fell in large swaths like layers of fog as the battleship made its way through the Boundless Fallen Ocean without going off its original path.

If one stood on the ancient battleship and looked out, one would see something different.

Some parts of it glowed as it was made from an entirely different material with a translucent glow. There was also a translucent screen hanging in the void.

A dazzling silver liquid seemed to flow all over the silhouettes sitting in the centre of the battleship. Their faces were fair. Eyes were the only features seen on them. There were no noses, ears, and so on.

Parts of their bodies glistened as if they were a higher being.

These silhouettes gave off a terrifyingly intimidating aura. There were even True Lightning, True Fire, and Stars around some of these figures. They had not been created out of Principles and Techniques, but seemingly created out of their existence.

Clearly, they owned the ancient battleship.

The figures dressed in armour and standing outside with their faces covered were the slaves of these beings inside.

Countless civilisations and legacies were formed in the vast and boundless Boundless Expanse. Some civilisations stretched on for immeasurable years. They were powerful and unending, showing no sign of decline even to this day.

On the other hand, some civilisations flashed briefly like shooting stars before dying out. They were like ripples that left no traces.

Throughout countless years, one of the most powerful and flourishing civilisations in the Boundless Expanse was the Immortal Dao Civilisation. Even though other ancient and powerful civilisations cropped up now and then to rival the Immortal Dao Civilisation, those civilisations only existed briefly before dying out.

They failed to pass down their legacy the way the Immortal Dao Civilisation did.

This ancient battleship came from a distant True World. However, in the beginning, the True World could not give birth to an Immortal Dao Civilisation.

Instead, as life evolved, they began to explore the power and mysteries of life. From that came the highest power which they called Spirit Power.

Unlike the Immortal Dao Civilisation, this civilisation studied the strength of the spirit, in other words, the Soul. They were able to attain everlasting life somehow. They could embed Souls into objects and survive within said objects.

Naturally, such power had its limits too. They still had to rely on external objects and failed to truly achieve a true Immortal life.

Later on, they conquered some of the less powerful Immortal Dao Civilisations and absorbed some of the knowledge and powers of those civilisations. After many epochs of evolution, they now called themselves the Immortal Spirit Civilisation.

In a way, the Immortal Spirit Civilisation was a type of Immortal Dao Civilisation too.

Their True World was known as the Immortal Spirit True World.

While it was not one of the top True Worlds in existence, it was still a famous Ancient True World that gave birth to many Dao Realm experts.

“A newly born True World without the protection of its True Spirit means an abundance of resources for us, as well as vast territories! It will be able to provide me with endless wealth!”

“Perhaps there might even be remnants of the Immortal Flame Core left behind. If I’m able to take it for myself, it’ll enable me to reach an even higher Realm!”

There was a noticeably slender figure with eyes that gleamed faintly. He was murmuring cryptically to himself as he stared at the scene depicted in the void.

“Lady Zhou You, if you are able to conquer this newly born True World, there’s a chance you might be able to undergo the Fourth Spiritual Transformation and place your Soul inside a Source Matter, thereby refining your Fourth Vessel. That way, you’ll be comparable to a Quasi-Dao Realm ancient cultivator. When that happens, we can battle against Ancient True Worlds with more confidence.”

The silhouettes who gathered nearby spoke up with faint excitement in their eyes.

They had the utmost respect for the female silhouette named Zhou You.

Although the Immortal Spirit Civilisation borrowed and combined many of the legacies and achievements of other Immortal Dao Civilisations, they believed that they were on a higher plane than other Immortal Dao Civilisations.

It was extremely hard to find a Quasi-Dao Realm ancient cultivator from the Immortal Dao Civilisation who had survived their Fourth Decay Tribulation.

After countless epochs, there were only a handful of them left.

In the newer True Worlds, there was not even a single cultivator who was on the Path of Transcendence to be found anywhere. The time and experience needed took far too long for a Quasi-Dao Realm expert to appear. Furthermore, a great amount of Fortuity was needed as well. One could not rely solely on talent.

In the Immortal Spirit Civilisation, however, one could use various means to combine one’s Soul and Source and carry on living somewhat eternally.

When the Elders’ Spirit Power declined, they would refine a Source Crystal for their descendants. By merging their Spirit Power with the Spirit Source, they could completely inherit their Elders’ strength.

Parents would pass their power down to their children, and their children did the same for their grandchildren. The practice continued down the generations.

Even though the Immortal Spirit Civilisation came about a little later, this method enabled them to possess an exceedingly terrifying power that could not be overlooked.

Zhou You had the support of a large and ancient Family. They tore apart Immortal Dao Civilisations and refined Source Matter and Principles. Then, they merged Spirit Power into these Source Matters to undergo a Spiritual Transformation.

They also travelled to various True Worlds to refine Source Matter left behind on abandoned battlefields where the True Worlds had once undergone Great Purges to perform even higher levels of Spiritual Transformations.

Some of the Immortal Dao Civilisations had Immortal Flame Cores. In those Immortal Flame Cores, there were remnants of matter that was material they called Source Matter.

Source Matter was something extremely mysterious. It could bring about the evolution of all things, including worlds, chaos, the decay of universes, and the cycle of chaos…

Even now, the Immortal Spirit Civilisation did not truly understand the origins of Source Matter. They only knew that it would most likely appear in the True Worlds where Immortal Dao Civilisations had formed.

The ancient battleship rumbled as it continued moving forward like a massive mountain range, crushing the expanse as it headed towards Mountains and Oceans True World.

Over in a different direction, there was also another ancient battleship speeding through the Boundless Fallen Ocean. However, this ancient battleship looked even more aged and tattered. The silhouette standing at the very top was tall and burly. He looked like a Human, but there was an ancient marking on his forehead.

This was the group of Hunters from Spirit Ruin True World.

The terrifying White Bone Ancestor King was sitting quietly inside this battleship.

Endless fog rolled in like gushing waves from all corners of the expanse.

“We’re almost there. Soon, we’ll be able to welcome our True World here to feast…”

“I can already sense its fresh aura.”

Those of the Spirit Ruin True World spoke with eager anticipation when they sensed the aura of Mountains and Oceans True World.

They had lain in wait for countless years now, waiting for this precise moment.

Dark waves kept crashing until the embankment of the Boundless Battlefield began to shake. The entire horizon grew hazy as bubble-like matter kept gathering. The terrifying might made anyone who saw it tremble.

“The dark waves are crashing more frequently now… there’s no telling how much longer it will hold.”

King Luo and the other Immortal Kings who were standing guard on the border of the Boundless Battlefield all sported grave expressions. Their figures stood tall atop the fortress as they watched the terrifying waves crash down again and again. The towering and seemingly boundless waves made the entire world tremble.

They could hardly imagine what would happen if there was no embankment to block the waves. Would the Immortal Domain survive such an onslaught?

It would probably shatter into dust at once.

“Is there no news from Queen Lunar yet? Hasn’t she been in contact with the Divine Lord the whole time? Why does it seem like he has vanished into thin air in recent years?”

The Immortal Kings had heavy hearts. The impending arrival of the Great Purge weighed them down. They felt fearful and worried. They tried contacting Gu Changge to inform him of these things. However, they found that Gu Changge had disappeared and could not be found anywhere.

Even Queen Lunar, who had the most contact with Gu Changge out of all the Immortal Kings from the Immortal Domain, did not know where Gu Changge was.

That led to negative speculations. They wondered if Gu Changge had left the Immortal Domain and decided to give up on this True World just like some of the Immortal Emperors in the Other Domain.

After all, lately, they found that those who were most closely tied to Gu Changge had slowly disappeared too.

Both the Divine Empire in the Upper Realm and the Heavenly Court in the Immortal Domain were still and silent, as if there was no one around.

“We need to prepare for the worst. I have received news that some of the powerful Families are already considering relocating.”

One of the veteran Immortal Kings spoke up in a grave voice. He was pessimistic about the future. Especially since Gu Changge, their pillar, had disappeared at a time like this.

That made them feel even more anxious, panicked, and uneasy.

Apart from that, some of the ancient beings had revived and taken control of certain territories. There was also news of them attempting to open up passages to other worlds and relocating their Families.

Naturally, they considered Gu Changge their pillar because he was powerful and possessed unfathomable strength. He might even be able to deal with the Great Purge upon them. However, it was clear that Gu Changge was more likely to be someone who would distance himself from the matters of this world.

Even so, they had no choice but to pin all their hopes on Gu Changge.

Yet, just as the Immortal Kings stood there with heavy hearts, two silhouettes slowly came over from the embankment. It was an elderly man in white and a young woman.

“I-It’s the Senior who passed through the embankment back then…”

As soon as King Luo noticed this, his expression froze and his silhouette vanished from the fortress as he went over to greet them.

The other Immortal Kings swiftly followed suit.

Apart from Gu Changge, the elderly man in white was the second person they had ever seen who could take someone over the embankment. In short, he had to be a Quasi-Immortal Emperor at the very least, if not more. Thus, they had to be respectful.
