In the dense primitive forest, rustling sounds could be heard continuously. Though the Sun was radiant and fierce in its endeavor to scorch the world, because the forest trees were very tall, barely any sunlight reached beneath them. So, it was quite cool down below the shade.

Moreover, the ground beneath the forest was very damp. If one was not careful, they could sink into mud pits.

A group was advancing beneath the forest. They were from the Giant Bear Tribe.

Six people had set out together this time, all Warrior Trainees.

Among the six were two girls, whose strength was not weak. Rather, they were quite formidable.

They were also of Noble birth. After all, one was Kai’s Older Sister, and the other was Luo’s Half-Sister. They shared the same Mother but had different Fathers.

Their strength surpassed the other four Warrior Trainees, and they would soon breakthrough to become Totem Warriors.

They had left the Giant Bear Tribe about two to three days ago, and had been traveling through the forest ever since. Although they encountered many Ferocious Beasts during their journey, they managed to escape danger each time.

“It feels so good traveling through the forest. We don’t get hit by the scorching Sun.” Luo said, raising his head with a silly expression.

He could be said to be the most heat-averse, so being able to walk beneath the forest, avoiding the Sun, was the best for him.

They had originally planned to take the route through the side of a cliff. They would have been much faster using that route. However, they would have had to endure the scorching heat from the Sun.

After much consideration, they decided to go through the forest. Although it would take an extra day, at least they could ensure their safety and avoid getting sunburned.

If something went wrong on the cliff route, they would waste Shaman Bone Tablets, which they had not brought many with them.

“If it weren’t for your fear of heat, we probably would have reached the Tribe by now…” Lan rolled her eyes. She was Luo’s Little Sister, with short blue hair and monolid eyes. Furthermore, she had a face sprinkled with freckles.

Though not particularly beautiful, she had a pleasant appearance and gave off strong youthful vibe. At only 1.6 metres tall, she looked even more girlish. Though only sixteen years old, she had developed appropriately for her age.

“Well, I can’t help it, plus aren’t you all afraid of the heat too? Walking along the cliff is also more dangerous.” Luo sniffled. His thoughts on his Half-Sister were clearly written on his expression. It was as though he was talking to a fool. They might take an extra day, but at least they would be safe.

“Stop arguing and hurry up.” Kai urged, “Who knows where the next Tribe is.” He was frustrated, not for any other reason than having been out so long without seeing any sign of another Tribe.

Instead, they had been chased by Ferocious Beasts for a long time, looking quite dishevelled. They also had not slept much for several days.

“Which way should we go next?” Li asked while surveying their surroundings. Li was Kai’s Older Sister, with long red hair and red eyes that were quite striking.

Her face was delicate, with a high nose like a petite mountain peak. She stood at 1.7 metres tall.

“I don’t know, let’s just see where we end up. It’s our first time out anyway, none of us knows the way.” Luo said with a wave of his hand.

He could be said to be very relaxed, maintaining an optimistic attitude toward the unknown. He felt that whether one was worried or happy, time passes anyway, so why not enjoy it?

“This is exactly why you are always so lazy. That’s why you’re not as good as me.” Lan shot back.

Her blue eyes glared at him constantly, seeing his demeanor made her exasperated by his wasted potential.

It was clear he had decent strength and potential, but he always maintained this carefree aloof attitude. If he was willing to put in some actual effort and take things seriously, his abilities would not be limited to just this.

Perhaps he could have been the first among the Warrior Trainees here to become a Totem Warrior, but right now, he was not even the strongest.

Although Lan’s relationship with him was not very good, since they have different Fathers, she still sincerely hopes Luo could do better. After all, that was what their Mother wished for.

“What’s wrong with me? Why are you suddenly angry at me?” Luo asked in confusion. He had always been uncompetitive, always appearing to just get by. To him, becoming a Warrior Trainee was already good enough.

He felt that strength was not very important. As long as he could become a Warrior, everything would be fine.

He had no interest in being first or being the strongest; his only interests were eating and sleeping.

“What’s wrong with you? You know best yourself.” Lan stopped paying attention to him and walked ahead.

She did not want to deal with him anymore. She did not even want to remember what their Mother had said.

This was not the first or second time she had tried to help him. Even so, despite everything, his attitude still remained as disappointing as ever.

“What’s wrong with me?” Luo looked at Kai in bewilderment. He did not understand why she was always getting angry at him. Whenever she did, it always seemed to be blown out of proportion.

“Oh you.” Kai shrugged and said, “Lan just hopes you won’t stay like this.”

“Me? What’s wrong with how I am?” Luo pointed at himself, very confused.

“She just doesn’t want you to stay this casual about everything. She hopes you’ll get serious.” Kai rolled his eyes.

He actually did not want to explain. After all, to him, he felt that whatever the other person did was their choice. Explaining everything would be pointless. In the first place, this was Luo’s life and not his. He does not believe he should interfere in his decisions.

“I think I’m fine like this. I’m living quite happily, why do I need to force myself to be serious?” Luo asked, puzzled.

He had always felt that he was living well enough. Striving to be first or the strongest seemed too exhausting. Every day, he only needs to think about what he should eat, when he could sleep, and whether he could eat more meat tomorrow morning.

These were his daily thoughts. Though, of course, he never missed the required training.

Even if someone else wanted him to train to become exceptional, that would not happen. He would just complete the necessary daily tasks and be done for the day. He was unlike other Warrior Trainees, who would spend extra time training after regular training hours ended.

However, even though his training time was not as much as the other Warrior Trainees, his strength was not low. This was exactly why Lan was so angry. He could become a lot stronger if he just put in more effort, but his refusal to improve was infuriating.

If he was willing to put in effort to become the strongest, or at least one of the strongest, then Lan would not have to worry about him anymore. She did not want to worry about him like this. In fact, if not for their Mother’s instructions, she would not have bothered with this carefree, seemingly useless Half-Brother of hers.
