*Bang!* He felt something blunt enter one particular area.
An indescribable feeling took over him, making his vision go black as he roared in pain. With both hands on his rear, he collapsed then and there.
Mo Wentian kicked the third boss’ butt, literally.
He then yanked the blunt wooden sword sticking out of the unmentionable area, waving it around.
If there was one thing the battered youth had, it was style. Not the messy hair or his shabby look could hide the sheer arrogance he exuded.
With the sword in hand, he looked like a Demon Slaying Immortal.
The street was early quiet, with all witnesses too dumbstruck to croak.
“Humph! I’ve dominated Dragonised City for over a decade. I don’t think you’re something to write home about, Azure Dragon Gang’s third boss.”
“Agh~, bloody bastard! I’m going to kill you!”
Under the eyes of the ever-growing crowd, the third boss never felt so humiliated in his life at having his bunghole sullied like this.
His Spiritual Energy was a mess, unable to muster a hint of strength.
“Ha-ha-ha, third boss, you’ve fallen under yours truly’s unique master skill. It’ll take you hours before you can scrounge up even a hint of strength. Not even your head could have taken on my move.”
The two 4th Layer Qi Refining members of the Azure Dragon Gang jerked at his words. “What do you take our third boss for, you punk?”
“Take your filthy foot off the third boss’ butt!”
Mo Wentian snickered, “I was only sparring with him. But since you asked so nicely, sure, I don’t mind taking my foot… off.”
The third boss squealed.
“Don’t just stand there! Get that bastard! I want to kill him!”
The two thugs rushed for Mo Wentian, who scoffed, “Taste my other ultimate creation, True Evasion!”
He took out white powder from his chest and had it cover the whole street with it.
Once it cleared, Mo Wentian cleared the scene as well.
“Third boss.” The two thugs rushed to help their boss.
The third boss held his aching rear with eyes that wanted blood.
“I want the entire gang out there searching for that piece of sh*t! I want him dead, you hear me?”
Night came, and Misty Pavilion was filled with the sound of music and singing. In a lonely attic, a single candle was alight, casting a hazy yellow glow over a youth and a girl.
Mo Wentian was still battered, sitting next to a girl of the same age as him.
She had her long hair coiled up, long eyebrows, and sparkling eyes. She was careful as she rubbed medicine on his swollen face.
Mo Wentian had a smug grin. “The fools from the Azure Dragon Gang must be scouring the city for me. They’ll never think in a million years to search the Misty Pavilion.”
“Brother Wentian, have you decided?” The girl looked conflicted.
Mo Wentian grabbed her hand, the warmth making both of their hearts race. Under the dim candlelight, the girl’s cheeks were tinted a lovely red.
“I went to all the gangs in Dragonised City, and none of them wanted me. My mind is set.”
“But…” the girl whispered.
Mo Wentian cut her off, holding her hand close.
“Ruhua, I have a godlike talent, but Dragonised City is filled with blind idiots. They don’t see my brilliance. Since the guy on Soaring Immortal Mountain is holding a disciple contest, I must go. With my talent, I’ll be his disciple for sure.”
“Right, I believe you, Brother Wentian!” The girl’s eyes shone with hope.
“He saved Dragonised City last night, but karma did not allow us to meet. If not for his intervention, we’d both have died from Malignant Spirits.
“Ruhua, stay at Misty Pavilion. A month later, when I become his disciple, I’ll come get you!”
“Brother Wentian, I’ll wait for you.”
“Ahem, so Ruhua, it’s a long way to Myriad Mountains, and I’m finding myself short on coin.” Mo Wentian barely got the words out from how awkward he felt.
The girl took a wooden box from a hidden compartment under the bed to reveal three Top Grade Spirit Stones sitting next to a dozen low ones.
“Brother Wentian, take these.”
Mo Wentian gasped at their incredible energy: “Ruhua, these three feel like Top Grade Spirit Stones.”
“Yes, a Young Master dropped by Misty Pavilion and gave me 23 of them. After Misty Pavilion took its share, I was left with these three.”
“Misty Pavilion is revolting to only leave you with three.”
The girl smiled as she shook her head.
“One day, I’ll make sure you have everything you’d want, to enjoy glory and wealth. As well as take you to the end of the world with my sword.” Mo Wentian made up his mind.
In the dead of night, when Misty Pavilion’s guests had either left or were resting, when Dragonised City was still at last, Mo Wentian was taken out of the Misty Pavilion through the back door by the girl.
“Ruhua, take care. I’ll come find you the moment I become his disciple.”
The girl smiled. “I’ll wait for you, Brother Wentian.”
“Take care!” Mo Wentian gave her one last look and left.
The cool night wind blew through the girl’s hair. She watched as Mo Wentian blended into the darkness, her smile never fading, even as tears streamed down.
