“Ah… I’m pooped…”

I returned to the lodgings, changed clothes, put on my coat and slumped onto the couch to rest my weary body.

I managed to persuade Mrs. Vert somehow and calmed her down at the expense of my arm. Her face was filled with ecstasy. Her touch was unnecessarily lascivious and she looked a little discontent after, but knowing that there would be more opportunities later, she let go of my arm with a temporary look of satisfaction on her face.

…She mentioned she’d stop by Shiki some time. Maybe I should have Chartreuse do something about that. I’m not acquainted with his Father, the Knight Commander. Also, Chartreuse seems to hold his Mother in high regard. So if I happen to tell him, ‘Hey, put a leash on your perverted mother,’ I don’t think he would believe me.

On the contrary, it could backfire and Mrs. Vert… might threaten me to resolve the misunderstanding.

“You look(sound) exhausted. Something troubling you, Lord Clo?”

As I laid slumped over in my room, Mr. Burnt, who was helping Gray get dressed, addressed me.

I was starting to think that a sound fetish which didn’t ask to touch or lick was comparatively more tolerable. No, wait. Maybe they were not all that different seeing as how ordinary, everyday sounds were enough of a stimulation.

“I’m fine. I guess it’s just all the accumulated fatigue catching up to me.”

Well 90 percent of it is mental exhaustion.

Anyway, if I let my fatigue show, not only would they worry about me, they’d also start to wonder what was up with me, when they were already suspicious why I hadn’t gone to pick up Apricot.

“Please do get some rest. I feel like your collapse earlier may have given you a concussion. May I suggest excusing yourself tonight if your condition shows no signs of improving?”

“Thanks for your concern, but I’m fine, I don’t think it’s a concussion. Like I said, I’m just a little fatigued.”

I’ve had to deal with a lot of things like Ms. Mary, followed by His Highness and then Mrs. Vert… but I need to keep pushing. Come to think of it… I may have to meet them again later. I just hope Mrs. Vert does not try something, and takes advantage of the fact that I can’t make a break for it as soon as I see them.

“If you insist. Please do call for me if you need immediate help.”

“Thanks, that’s really reassuring.”

Well, it’s true that Mr. Burnt and Ms. Amber are very dependable if not for their fetishes and the same goes for Mrs. Vert or so I’ve heard. Either way, we just have to focus all our attention on keeping ourselves safe from all these notorious characters around us.

“Speaking of which, Lady Violet sure is running late.”

“Well… ladies are known to require a lot of time to get ready.”

“Be that as it may…”

I raised my arms above my head and did some light stretching as I waited for Lady Violet. There was still a lot of time left until the event, so it didn’t matter even if she took a little longer, but I still felt like it was more than usual.

However, it’s often said that men aren’t aware of all the circumstances around situations like these, so I suppose I should just wait quietly. Maybe it’s just in my head, but I feel like Mr. Burnt put some distance between us.

“Oh, you’re here? Go on in…”

Since I had nothing better to do, I thought I’d peek in on Cyan(who managed to get away) and Apricot(happy because she got to meet someone strong, Ms. Mary) playing chess to pass the time. Just as I was about to act on that thought, I heard a knock on the door.

The door opened upon my consent and Ms. Amber came into view. Does that mean Lady Violet was ready?

Slowly, I could make out someone else behind Ms. Amber…

“Sorry for the wait, Lord Clo. Getting everything ready took a lot longer than expected.”

“No, it’s alright. I don’t… mind.”

The person behind Ms. Amber was indeed Lady Violet and she was dressed in a gown appropriate for the after party of the academy festival.

There was a well-known hateful custom made official by that man(Carmine) which required those unaffiliated with the academy to don formal wear to the after party . So I had to prepare fitting attire just for this evening.

With black as the base theme and little to no embellishments, the dress was modeled after regency era gowns and had a relaxed silhouette. Lady Violet appeared through the door, adorning the gown.

I knew it… she’s beautiful.

“Lord Clo? Is something the matter? Did I wear it wrong?”

“Milady, milady. Lord Clo is simply captivated by you. I can tell by his scent.”

“R-Really? I’m glad to– wait, scent?”

While it’s true that Lady Violet had rendered me speechless, how the heck did Ms. Amber figure that out from my scent? Lady Violet appeared completely baffled.

When she made her entrance just earlier, Gray, who had been getting ready himself, Cyan and Apricot, who were playing chess, all stopped what they were doing and ran over to her to shower her with compliments. Okay, looks like the girls also approve.

“I really gotta say, you’re truly skilled, Clo. Anyone could just as easily take it for the work of a professional.”

“You mean that? Thanks.”

Well, I really was a tailor in my previous life. As for the design, I simply picked a dress among my creations that I thought would suit her and tweaked it to fit this world’s fashion trends. Seeing her in the gown, I was once again convinced that I had made the right choice.

“Since we have to dress up anyway, I wish we could have put her in a flashy gown that would make everyone’s head turn and have them go, ‘Who is that beautiful Lady?!’.”

“Nah, making heads turn is not our objective tonight.”

It certainly isn’t impossible given Lady Violet’s beauty but that’s not what we’re aiming for.

Any poor attempts made at standing out will likely only invite ire from other guests. That said, I couldn’t put her in something shabby as that would only serve to embarrass her and I hate to cut corners so I did the best I could under the circumstances.

“I hear you… and the dress looks amazing but also restricting.”

“Probably because the skirt isn’t ripped up.”

Lady Violet wearing a dress with a slit… I’d like to see that someday.

“Um… pardon me for asking but did you make this gown yourself, Lord Clo?”

“That’s right. Come to think of it… I guess I forgot to mention it. I personally handmade the outfits Gray and I am wearing today as well.”

“The tailoring looks excellent so I assumed they were custom-made. I had no idea you knew your way around a needle, Lord Clo.”

“I agree. I had the same thought as well.”

“Thanks for saying that. It makes me really happy to see my work appreciated.”

Well, I can’t fault them for being surprised . Nobles don’t usually make their own clothes after all.

I was a little concerned since I hadn’t undertaken such a grand project in quite some time but if my work was able to impress even Ms. Amber and Mr. Burnt who weren’t in the know, then I guess I can pat myself on the back for a job well done.

By the time everyone was done admiring the outfits, I had lost the chance to sing my own praises of Lady Violet. But I must still do something.

“Shall we get going, Lady Violet? Sadly we don’t have a carriage nor is anyone coming to pick us up, but please allow me to do my best to keep you safe this fine evening.”

I reached out to her, ready to play the part of an escort.

I can’t exactly set the mood or anything with so many people around us. But seeing as how we were both dressed up to attend a party and everything, I wanted to try and look cool at least for a few minutes.

I’m sure Cyan is going to tease me about it later, but I’ll risk that.

“Haha, thank you, Lord Clo. I feel safe knowing I’m in good hands.”

She looked flustered for a second but soon smiled and took my hand.

Such strong, beautiful fingers and hands. In order to also protect these hands, I must–

“Ahh, it’s just as amazing as I expected it to be! If just your forearm has such definition and feels great to touch, then what about your torso?! And what would become of me once I touch it?!”

“You’re never going to.”

“Could I lick your arm?”

“The second you try, our time together comes to an end.”

“Alright, I won’t do it.”

“Is it really as nice as you make it out to be? To the point of obsession?”

“You bet.”

Ah, dammit. Lady Violet touching my hand triggered the memory of the time I spent with Mrs. Vert. I shouldn’t have let her touch me so easily even if I was only trying to calm her down.
