The second fight was also stopped by Lady Violet and Ms. Mary before it even started.

And they each had given us a light lecture to not argue again… That being said, Ms. Kriemhild and Ms. Mary might be the only Commoners able to lecture His Highness, who’s royalty. It’s probably their trusting relationship and the personality that allows them to do it though.

“It’s about time we went to the venue.”

“…”

“Your Highness?”

We were about to return to the party venue, and just as we were about to part ways, His Highness stopped at a place without many people around.

Wondering what was going on, we all looked at him. Then, after checking surroundings, His Highness turned back to face Lady Violet.

“Violet, I can’t forgive your existence.”

He talked about forgiveness, rather than like or dislike.

Hearing his abrupt words, Ms. Mary tried to interrupt him, but…

“Yes, I know. My actions have always been unbearable for Your Highness, and as you mentioned the other day, I’m sure you found them extremely bothersome.”

As Lady Violet responded to His Highness’ words without changing her expression, Ms. Mary probably thought that she shouldn’t intervene, stopped herself from saying anything and just watched over the conversation.

Ah, please calm down, Mr. Burnt, Ms. Amber. Stop giving him sneaky threatening looks.

“Yeah, like I said before, I couldn’t even forgive that you were treading on the grounds of the academy. Whenever I see you, the memories of that time come back to me.”

“Yes.”

When His Highness met Lady Violet before the play, he completely considered her as the enemy, and was ready to eliminate her. He was fully intending on not letting her get off easily just with being kicked off in case she was going to do something.

“My feelings still haven’t changed. I don’t know what you and Mary talked about. Even if Mary forgave you, I don’t intend to forgive you easily. The same goes for Ecul and Silva.”

“Yes.”

“I am going to be busy with greetings and such, so I can’t speak with you at length. So I am not in the mood to hear out your apology right now… but as far as your… no, my feelings of being unable to forgive you have not changed, but…”

“Your Highness?”

His Highness’ brusque words brought a questioning look to Lady Violet’s face, who had been responding to him without changing an expression until then.

After thinking for a moment, His Highness averted his gaze and continued speaking while facing the party venue.

“I will at least give you a chance to talk things out someday… a one-sided conversation won’t allow me to properly decide whether to forgive you or not.”

Hearing those words surprised not just Lady Violet, but also Ms. Mary, Mr. Burnt and Ms. Amber. However, Lady Violet quickly returned to her normal expression and bowed to His Highness.

“…Thank you very much, Your Highness.”

“I am only giving you a chance. It does not mean that I have decided to forgive you.”

“No, I am just happy that you would give a new chance to somebody like me, who has made such a grand blunder… after you, Your Highness had once told me to not show myself in front of you.”

“Hmph, that feeling that hasn’t changed at the moment.”

His Highness moodily replied to her without looking at her, and then walked off to leave the place.

“Oh, also, “

However, before returning to the venue, His Highness stopped as if he remembered something, turned around and for some reason looked at me first before looking back at Lady Violet.

“You look good in your dress today. I can’t feel your previous haughtiness anymore. Whoever made that dress must have sewn it with you in mind— you should cherish it. It’s a good thing to have somebody who cares about you.”

For a moment, Lady Violet looked taken aback by those words, before replying with a small smile.

“Yes, of course. I will cherish it… What you have said has made me the happiest I have ever been with your words.”

His Highness heard Lady Violet’s words, looked at her expression, and then finally left for the party venue without replying.

Ms. Mary also bowed and followed behind His Highness.

“I see, so that’s how Violet’s smile looks… It has certainly been a long time since I’ve seen it.”

His Highness muttered something, but due to the distance and the noise I was unable to hear it.

Author’s note:

Q: Was he planning to fight with Clo even though he’s so busy?

A: For him, those words about Mary were so unforgivable that he didn’t mind ruining all his plans for it
